Is Les Schaub in California, if they are, it is a good outfit to buy rubber from. I do not think you want to buy that big rubber on line and have it shipped to you, too heavy. Check with the FMCA Michelin tire program. Check around too, as I bought Goodyears for my coach, 500 bucks a tire installed. Suggest you avoid the Samson and other cut rate Chinese tires.

Ok, The chassis is Magnum it is not a Ford or a Chevy but a "Magnum" custom built by Safari coaches Chassis division "Magnum" They did this in order to facilitate changes rapidly and to avoid the other guy supplier holding them hostage in the time line. They could make changes in a thirty day window. Tags are other ways of finding posts on Brakes, Steering, Wheels or tires etc...any of the preceding words could be used as tags as I understand it and if I am incorrect someone till fill me in. In addition to this info Brett has supplied and an update. Ralph Passed away a couple years back. Pioneer Metals us still in operation in Quincy. They do not have any original torsion springs available. They are however still available from other sources. Ralph also developed a supplemental air bag system to augment the failing torsion springs that works just great...just ask me how I know. They build the Safari Famous Tiger Trax suspension and ride improving components along with various and numerous other components.

bounder, I am with you, there is so much dry camping available in Arizona. Quartzsite is just the beginning, go over the mountain to the Bouse area and think back about "Q" look at the mountains and think ATV trails toward Quartzsite. My goodness there is so much to see and the history in just those mtns is amazing. Then north and east is Alamo Lake, a BLM flood control project that is one of Arizona's best bass fishing lakes. It drains 5000 square miles from Prescott south and protects the Bill Williams Wildlife refuge, Parker and Lake Havasu. Last year with all the rain in Dec and January the wild flowers were amazing. We were parked in a sea of yellow with more humming birds than I have ever experienced. Again the ATV trails around were extensive and the history...incredible. We are going back again this year for sure.

Temperature sensors are not really all that expensive. I am sure there different ones and a good source would be Johndrake.com or solarseller.com, same outfit located in Kingman, Arizona. By far one of the best sources and price wise.

Got it...overall length is a touch longer than the requirement . As for the red line I do not know but had it done professionally so assume, right never assume, it was done as required. Wayne, I agree totally so may people just stand back and avoid getting involved.

If an Aqua Hot or a hurricane likely no problem. If just a furnace it could be a chase if it gets into the low teens or below. Big tanks would take a while to freeze but the water bay valves or the sewer line if on the floor and only a piece of plywood between it and the environment could be cause for concern . It is not getting as cold around here like it used to.

WildBill, What amazes me is that so many times it would appear that folks fail to read the details. I stated for that sawed off shotgun, "it was legal length" not only that it, stated loaded with "a bear load, rubber shot" No one even noticed that or commented. It is racking the shell that is the big deterant. I will add that though in the coach no shell in the chamber. When racing if adding 2 pounds of air in to a tire made the difference between a win and a loss would you ignore it, NO. It is the accumulation of the 1/10s that make the difference. Having that dang thing down at times is a real pain for sure and is it down all the time, NO, but there are times when it seems prudent. Then there is that small unobtrusive can of pepper spray close by that is probably a better deterant yet

I too have a sawed off legal length shotgun, swings easily in the coach and racking the shell should be unnerving from outside. It is loaded with a bear load, rubber shot, ought to sting like ****. I also have a Glock 45...for piece of mind. When inside have the floor step cover down so difficult for one entering from outside and to have to work etntry so as to gain time inside. Conceal carry not yet but coming when I have time. Taught Janet how to shoot 22 now she has a different perspective about guns...

Yes BOB you are quite right. I too have a 2001 Zanzibar but for sale. I also have a 1999 Panther and the alt is hooked straight to the chassis batteries. I added another tray in the engine compartment for the chassis bats and added a pair of sixes to the house tray. It has a full solar, 6 panels at 960 watts and that is hooked to the house through Bogart's Trimetric stuff. When home and this time of year it is plugged in and all is well through the echo charger. We are headed out January one for sunny Arizona and the Safari Party in Quartzsite. There was no way for me to know your background and many have no clue to the problems the isolator can create. The same for you and my coach history/experience let alone it being with Safari coaches learned over the last 8 or so years. One must start somewhere to find out what comes next. The drive from Sorocco West is terrific and if you take the road into the Salt River Canyon, oh my what a spectacular site. it is a slow drive out but worth every minute and every mile. We have been that way several times now but Pie Town shops closed, DARN...

Joe, I have made a change and have changed the primary filter air and water purge pump unit out. I spent hours messing with it. Turns out a problematic setup with a common issue of sucking air and I could not figure out where it was coming from. I called Parker/Racor and had a 15 second conversation before the tech realized the problem and directed me to the replacement. Not bad as I was expecting double the $300 it cost. I then ordered a half dozen upgrade filters, 3 times larger from ADF Diesel in Montreal, Canada. Their price was half of what they could be purchased for in the states, go figure. The same price differential with the original filters. Joe the filter I am using is a Racor R125 S, Red 30 micron. I was told a long time ago that since diesel is a dirty fuel, the the most important filter on a diesel is the fuel filter and to change it every 20 thousand miles or every other oil change. Oil in the 2003 F350 7.3 Powerstroke stays nice and clean and at 214,000 that is great. It certainly cannot hurt. I have some recently purchased Racor S3230 red 30 micron filters available for the old style unit that now need a home.

Carl, I am using a Goodyear OTR tire front steer and the ride is the same as when it had the original Goodyears RV rated tires on it as supplied by Safari. I do not think it is the least bit harsh. The ride did improve when I put the nice gold Konis on it however.

There is no question it if you want a new one Source Engineering is the place...excellent products. Replacing a radiator in my coach was a piece of cake. It was no less costly however. But the effort to gain access was a piece of cake and all it required was a floor jack, no lifting of the coach involved...nice.

My first question why does it need replacing? Second are the tanks any good, that is do they leak. Is the core Bad? The cheapest repair if the tanks are good is to recore it. Is it a side radiator coach or a rear radiator? The difficulty is reduced substantially if it is a side radiator coach. Call Monaco for the part number, rather the REV group in Oregon...Google REV group. If it is a side and that big ISX you will need a floor jack cause it is going to be heavy.

I was going to do this and drop one AT&T line and have really good coverage. Are you kidding, this is a mess. It is like dealing with Wells Fargo. I have never had Verizon services and will not any time soon. These kinds of issues just make me crazy...they should not happen.

Side radiators are not near the problem that rears are. The side panel on a big CAT Safari was originally a fixed panel riveted numerous places yet on a hinge. I drilled all the rivets and put two bolts in the bottom keeping it in place. Now for the annual wash/rinse remove them and open, no more trying to get through the louvers.

Well I for one would dispute the placement of Nokian in the bottom tier. It is not by any stretch a bargain tire as evidenced by it pricing! It is by far with one exception the ultimate winter tire! It's summer tires are also top tier in performance. It is however a very small company when compared to Michelin or Goodyear. It is considered a premium tire based upon price and by those of us that have been using their winter tires for the last decade. When on the ice or snow it has only one competitor and everybody else is a wants to be. The difference is noticeable from the shore line.
