  1. Texas Gulf Coast, Oysters, yummy, raw, fried, broiled, grilled. Make a fried oyster sushi.
  2. Eric, with those temperatures you only needed to turn on the burner if you want continuous hot water, otherwise the electric will keep the aquahot going. For really cold days the burner by itself will do the job. No need to run both continuously. As stated, no need to start the engine. It doesn't do any good for any of the other mechanical features attached to the engine such as transmission, etc. As long as your converter is keeping the batteries charge at 12.4+v, which it should, no need to start the engine. If you must "exercise" it, you should drive it for 25 to 30 miles. During that time you could exercise the generator but it should be under a load. p,s., owning a motorhome is not for saving money. Just sayin'.

    Gas or Diesel

We have friends parked in our driveway with a Pace Arrow gasser, 2009 model. It's 38 feet (I think it is longer) and his biggest peeve is finding a gas station, towing a car, that he can maneuver in. Diesel pusshers can use truck stops or other easy access lanes. Others on here will say they have not problem with finding or maneuvering but that is individual opinion, like my friends. We have a very nice 43' DP. It is in storage from October to June(ish). every 5 to 6 weeks I take it out for about 25 mile ride just to exercise it. Hardly run the generator during storage months and have never had a problem but I do get it serviced when time/hours/just want to, is up. It comes down to what YOU want. What you will be comfortable with. They all have their good points and bad points.
  6. 150Amp. Who woulda thought! Thanks for posting the update and pictures.
  7. Our bank allows a separate account. I created the account, populated it with money and use it exclusively for diesel fuel. I can write checks on it if I wish to, or, I can transfer any amount to or from that account. Most banks allow multiple accounts, just ask. I use the bank draft from the fuel account for TSD.
  8. Need may not be the correct term I would use. Convenience better describes it. Most of us sit around in the morning having coffee, etc., then as the morning goes on we meander the tour circuit or go do something exciting. Having the W/D running while having the coffee frees up that hour or more in a laundromat not including the time to traveling to and from. Yes, CG's have laundromats also but many times it is full, broken, or to small. Personally, we go for the W/D and stackable is better than the combo. With a stackable you can wash a second load while drying the first. with the combo it is one wash and dry before another load can be done. The combo needs small loads and the drying time is long. Mostly because it is 110v instead of 220v
  9. I really enjoy the TSD app for fuel planning on my route. Used it all last Summer.
  10. Try TSD Logistics and their Open Roads Fuel Discount program, According to their web site, in 2022 they will come out with a gasoline discount card.
  11. How about Orange, TX to Anthony, TX, 873 miles. That is 22 miles longer than from Fort Kent, ME to Washington, DC, going through 5 states.
  12. Got AD for Hou show and buy one for $15 get one free.
  13. Mike, I totally understand. My wife is also the right seat GPS. If we could count in-state travel I could increase our count a few.
  14. Houston RV Show is February 9th through 12th.
  15. Yes, it could span a 15 foot crevasse by lowering the front nose, sliding across with the wheels picking up, then lowering the rear end and sliding across with the front wheels giving the power. Each wheel was powered by an electric motor. It was abandoned and over the years disappeared either buried or sunk.
  16. Eric, Another Thread Do you run the motor when using the jacks. Need to do that.
  17. Bill, when we evacuate we go to Hill Country and it is high ground. I did lose my '08 to Harvey but that is because it was in the repair shop and they said they had never had water in their parking lot. Well, they never had 54 inches of rain fall on them in a short period of time either! If I had picked it up and put it back in storage, or here at the house, it would have stayed dry. Texas City was an island with all the flooding around us. We have 7 or 8 Archimedes principle pumps around the city that pumps water out, and it worked overtime for Harvey. Yep, same for us getting close to 1/4 tank first time out. Quite a relief once we had a full tank again.
  18. I get chills looking at pictures of that white stuff, even pictures hanging on walls. 🤡
  19. We are in the potential for hurricanes here on the Gulf Coast. The only good thing about a hurricane is the advanced warnings we get. So, when threatened we head out of town. Way back when we didn't have an RV for awhile we evacuated 150 miles up the road. Guess what, the hurricane came through that area as a Cat 1. Many years later we had a 5th wheel and got rid of it for our first 2008 MH. We evacuated again to about 100 miles in a different direction...guess what, Cat 1 right over us. It was our maiden voyage in that MH. Unfortunately I did not stop for fuel so after 3 days of running the generator I knew I had to find fuel. We departed for a different area. Consider that when power goes out, fuel cannot be pumped so running on fumes we found a station. Quite a hassle to get into, and Earlene had to guide me backing up to get out...but it all worked. We evacuate for any threat of a hurricane, and I always keep a full tank of fuel now. Fill up before getting to a CG and fill up before putting it in storage. I figure with 150 gallons of fuel I can run the generator for a good bit. I hate tornado areas. So, when anyone asks me where I'm going to evacuate to, I tell them that wherever I go, go in the opposite direction. 🤡 oops! Didn't mean to hijack the thread. Sorry, but not going to erase ALL that typing.
  20. Bill, my wife's idea of ruffing it is no Walmart nearby the RV park. Hey, when we can't afford the rv parks anymore, we'll just stop RV'ing. Did pretty good with the # of states and CG visited. Don't know what's in store this year.

  22. Eric, did they tell you how to reset the controller? I can't remember exactly but I think it was pushing the enter and retract button at the same time for 6 seconds. Don't shoot me if I'm wrong...but if Lippert didn't tell you that call them again and ask if that would help. Also press and hold the retract button depressed and see if that brings them up. Breaker's in rear battery/DEF compartment. Some, or fuses, up front compartment on driver's side. I'll wager you already know that.
