Bill, when we evacuate we go to Hill Country and it is high ground. I did lose my '08 to Harvey but that is because it was in the repair shop and they said they had never had water in their parking lot. Well, they never had 54 inches of rain fall on them in a short period of time either! If I had picked it up and put it back in storage, or here at the house, it would have stayed dry. Texas City was an island with all the flooding around us. We have 7 or 8 Archimedes principle pumps around the city that pumps water out, and it worked overtime for Harvey. Yep, same for us getting close to 1/4 tank first time out. Quite a relief once we had a full tank again.

I get chills looking at pictures of that white stuff, even pictures hanging on walls. 🤡

We are in the potential for hurricanes here on the Gulf Coast. The only good thing about a hurricane is the advanced warnings we get. So, when threatened we head out of town. Way back when we didn't have an RV for awhile we evacuated 150 miles up the road. Guess what, the hurricane came through that area as a Cat 1. Many years later we had a 5th wheel and got rid of it for our first 2008 MH. We evacuated again to about 100 miles in a different direction...guess what, Cat 1 right over us. It was our maiden voyage in that MH. Unfortunately I did not stop for fuel so after 3 days of running the generator I knew I had to find fuel. We departed for a different area. Consider that when power goes out, fuel cannot be pumped so running on fumes we found a station. Quite a hassle to get into, and Earlene had to guide me backing up to get out...but it all worked. We evacuate for any threat of a hurricane, and I always keep a full tank of fuel now. Fill up before getting to a CG and fill up before putting it in storage. I figure with 150 gallons of fuel I can run the generator for a good bit. I hate tornado areas. So, when anyone asks me where I'm going to evacuate to, I tell them that wherever I go, go in the opposite direction. 🤡 oops! Didn't mean to hijack the thread. Sorry, but not going to erase ALL that typing.

Bill, my wife's idea of ruffing it is no Walmart nearby the RV park. Hey, when we can't afford the rv parks anymore, we'll just stop RV'ing. Did pretty good with the # of states and CG visited. Don't know what's in store this year.

Eric, did they tell you how to reset the controller? I can't remember exactly but I think it was pushing the enter and retract button at the same time for 6 seconds. Don't shoot me if I'm wrong...but if Lippert didn't tell you that call them again and ask if that would help. Also press and hold the retract button depressed and see if that brings them up. Breaker's in rear battery/DEF compartment. Some, or fuses, up front compartment on driver's side. I'll wager you already know that.

Nav 1, you can shovel all that white stuf right back up a BC. I lived in it for 19 years of my life. Up until I got my driver's license it was fun to play in. That was then, and this is now...no more white stuff. It is 10:30 here and temp is 42˚. Supposed to be a high of 62˚ today.

Now that picture just plain makes me miserable! It is New Years Day, 8:58 p.m and the outside temerature is 73˚ We are going to have some hight 40's, low 50's for 2 days then back into the 70's. Happy New Year y'all!

Odor, what odor. That's what clothes pins are for. Oh, clothes pins - those were the two pieces of stick held together by a spring clip that held the wash on the lines. The only dryers back then was God given air! Some of the TP back then was like sand paper. Not really meant for today's RV world. As BM02tj said, if it passes the water jar test it should be good to go for the RV. Even with two macerator toilets we still use Angel Soft.

Under no circumstances do you want to plug it into the clothes dryer outlet in the house. That is 240v. You will damage the RV electrical considerably if you plug into the dryer plug. The 30A RV supply is 120v exactly like the plug for appliances in the house. The difference being that the house is 20A for common household items and the RV is 30 amp. The three plugs on the 30A are: Ground (round plug) Hot spade (black wire) and Neutral spade (white wire). The 50Amp plug is totally different. Make sure that whoever installs the receptacle understands the differences. This may help: 30A RV Service

Only one sling. Pad and straps are removable and re-stuck on the Velcro for whichever arm it is needed on. Guess they charge twice the price and reduce the amour of slings they have to hand out.

Rotator cuff surgery October 19th. Six weeks with the albatross of a sling around my neck. Typing one hand until sling was gone. Last two week was physical therapy, motion only - no weight. Best thing was the doctor told Earlene I could not push-pull the vacuum cleaner. I told him that the first time she asked me to vacuum I got down and pulled, and pulled, and pulled on that cord, then looked up and said, "It won't start!" Worked...well for the past several years but I think that may change soon.
