  1. I swear I didn't know my wife had two other sisters.👿
  2. MIke, Any chance of just removing the graphics and buffing out where they were. Nothing wrong with a bare naked RV.
  3. Michelin and Hankook most likely have different inflation's for their tires. May be close, but no cigar. It would be interesting to compare tables.
  4. New one for me also Andy. Hmmm! Does your DW suffer from small print read! 🤡 Oops! Now she'll go searching.
  5. DB, we have a place about 10 miles up the road where you can "Eat All You Want" catfish for about $12. They also make the best Jalapeno Poppers you have ever eaten. LIke I said, we have the resturants around here.
  6. Now Herman, cut that out! You know what he meant. You can talk Texan and say "Shank." His "Off the hoof" = "Fresh.
  7. We were on a part of it for many miles in our 43' towing. No problems. We took it because at that time we called and the person on duty stated that the 55' length was an old law. With that said I just called the Parkway and spoke with Andie and she said that the 55' length is a must and it is also a Mississippi State Law. (Don't shoot the messenger) Yes, it is a two lane road but no worse in width than any other 2 lane road. For information Natchez Trace Pkwy and RV's Edited: I just sent an email to The Trace asking for clarification.
  8. We have so many good restaurants around here I could not list them all as we'd run out of space. Just about anything you would want. BBQ places galore and all good. Get out of the cabin and head south.
  9. That is a stupid barrier. If it has not other purpose then supposing to be pleasing - yank it out. That is like a coach with opposing couches and behind one couch is a pop-up TV. You are not going to invite friends over to watch TV unless someone wants to see a plumbers crack.
  10. It basically bypassed us. I can remember in the days of golf we would be playing at TX GC and the thunderstorms and other storms would be all around us, but like miles and miles away. We could see the ominous cloud systems but we were dry as could be. We went to a soccer game at Dickinson High School and left at half time. Got into TC and the roads were dry.
  11. My 2015 WB has the wall behind the chair when the slide is in. Fortunately I'm only 5'9" (almost just as wide, sheesh.)
  12. Going to 48˚ overnight here and warming to 65˚ tomorrow, then another 46˚ night then back up in temps again. Wacky, but still Texas weather.
  13. Yep, I knew you would recognize it. I had an off duty firefighter helping me as much as he could and a patrol car came up behind me and turned the lights on so people could detour around me. Earlene sent a nice letter to the PD/FD thanking them for the great help they were and how nice they were.
  14. Ian, That is only a partial list. New places have been added since I made that list. A little more pricey but still inside your budget. Check out RV Park Reviews (now "campgroundreviews.com") for others in the area. If you find one that you may be interested in let me know and I'll visit it (if we are in the area), or may be that I know of it.
  15. That was my old MH, 40'er. We were 22 miles from home, Alvin, TX, intersection of Hwy 6 and Tovrea Rd (Walmart entrance) and it was around 3:30 p.m. That is about 1000 ft from Hwy 35 bypass. Can you think traffic that time of day? Stop engine light came on and as soon as I noticed it the engine shut off. I had the right lane blocked for about 1-1/2 hours. At that time tried starting it and it did start but the Stop Engine light came back on. I was just able to pull into that bank parking lot on the corner and park and it shut off again. Of course it was a Sunday. Tow truck arrived next morning around 9 a.m. Keon, I don't think you would trouble shoot a broken wire in the engine harness. The wire was the "low coolant" sensor but there was no way to know that with the indication "low coolant." The coolant was full. Cummins found it and repaired it otherwise it would have been 6 weeks before Winnebago could re-manufacture the engine harness. Then packaging and shipment time would add to that. I'm very satisfied with Cummins' service in Houston TX. I'm extremely happy that I had GS Road Side Assistance.
  16. Keon, when is the last time your MH was towed. Last time for us was 40 miles and GS paid for it. I asked the driver what it would have cost me and he quoted, "About $750!"
  17. Skeeters are keeping out of the stiff breeze and so far so good. Give a holler when in town and maybe we can do lunch somewhere.
  18. Welcome to the forum. I had it installed on my 2008 WB Destination and I also noted an immediate improvement. I would recommend Safe-T-Plus.
  19. Ah! That is the Texas Flower and the fields are beautiful. Here is a google link to Blue Bonnet pictures. Ian, I don't know what the prices in the RGV or Corpus are and you are correct on wind but not just Padre but Corpus and other areas as well. The only time the wind doesn't blow down there is in August, and trust me that you don't want to be there in August. As for Galveston, we live 14 miles from there in Texas City. Galveston has RV parks in the range you are talking about and they include electricity in most cases. If you get off the island you can find lots of places less expensive: Here is a short list: You do have to make reservations ahead of time. Many of the RV Parks around here have refinery workers and traveling nurses, plus Coast Guard in the parks. Hey, for 500-700 a month to live is cheap for them. 20. I don't have a clue as to how wide my door is but I do know my body can fit through it, barely. (Not BARE, barely) I have been thinking of getting a new recliner so I guess I'll have to measure. Most likely it is the 24" type.
  21. We are getting misting rain for the past 2 days and for the next couple days but the temps are in the low 70's and low 60's. It just fluctuates during the day like that with each day different. The lows are in the low to mid 50's with some occasional 60's. In about a week we'll be in the low to mid 60's for a few days. Spring is just around the corner. Also, it is supposed to be a very good year for Blue Bonnets.
  22. I have one. No way I could handle two! 👺
  23. Come on down!! When is the year of the move? Hey, I didn't say it wasn't raining! Well. today, at this particular time of post, it is 55˚. Below 70 is freezing for me. Have the house heat seat at 71 and still running my little electric element in the room I'm in. Happy I have auto start on the car so I can warm it up 10 minutes before I have to get into it. Just need that old man's mad dash from house to car. DW's car is garaged - lucky her.
  24. Just the other day I fired up the Traeger and BBQ'd St. Louis Style ribs. They came out deliciously. It's nice being able to BBQ in nicer weather all year round, well maybe a little hotter in Summer than other places but that is why I'm a "Summerbird."
