I don't have a clue as to how wide my door is but I do know my body can fit through it, barely. (Not BARE, barely) I have been thinking of getting a new recliner so I guess I'll have to measure. Most likely it is the 24" type.

We are getting misting rain for the past 2 days and for the next couple days but the temps are in the low 70's and low 60's. It just fluctuates during the day like that with each day different. The lows are in the low to mid 50's with some occasional 60's. In about a week we'll be in the low to mid 60's for a few days. Spring is just around the corner. Also, it is supposed to be a very good year for Blue Bonnets.

I have one. No way I could handle two! 👺

Come on down!! When is the year of the move? Hey, I didn't say it wasn't raining! Well. today, at this particular time of post, it is 55˚. Below 70 is freezing for me. Have the house heat seat at 71 and still running my little electric element in the room I'm in. Happy I have auto start on the car so I can warm it up 10 minutes before I have to get into it. Just need that old man's mad dash from house to car. DW's car is garaged - lucky her.

Just the other day I fired up the Traeger and BBQ'd St. Louis Style ribs. They came out deliciously. It's nice being able to BBQ in nicer weather all year round, well maybe a little hotter in Summer than other places but that is why I'm a "Summerbird."

BUILDING RV PAD / TEXAS HILL COUNTRY

Great job. Especially getting rid of the saw horse legs for the picnic table. -
I also have the 10kw. Estimated around .6 or so per hour. MPG is not really something I'm worried about. I get between 7.2 and 7.9 or 8.2 depending on hilly terrain. Funny thing, the 340hp got the same as my newer-to-me 450Hp.

My generator runs off of diesel fuel. I have not idea how many gallons to the hour.

My '08 was like that, blowing hot air. Eventually Freightliner ran some dye through it and it had tow fitting leaks. Replaced fittings and ran great after that.

That sure looks like a redneck picnic table. Oh, and are you going to import hula dancers? I'll bet Mama would not allow that. -
DB, I resemble that remark! I'm like others, unable to handle the big 22.5" tires weighing so much, let alone carrying a jack to hoist up a portion of 47,000 pounds. I would never use my leveling system to try and raise a tire off the ground. If I were going to travel to a remote area I may purchase a tire, no rim, and throw it in the back of the TOAD. Roadside service is pretty available and they have the tools to change tires. As for your Class B, yes, your idea of the tire on the hitch is a good one, as long as the hitch can withstand it.

Is that a dollar a cord or cubit? -
We ran our 2008 DP with the 2500 for 9 years and never had a problem. We let Freightliner keep up with the maintenance that we scheduled yearly.

Forest River Charleston Motorhome - 2014 Model
wayne77590 replied to fagnaml's topic in Type A motorhomes
Mike, We lost our 2008 Winnebago Destination to Hurricane Harvey in 2017. Insurance was good to us and we now have a 2015 Winnebago Tour 42QD. Some minor repairs but it has been good on a 5 month trip this past summer, and a few short trips about and around. Something to consider is floor plan. Besides the power plant and frame the floor plan was a big consideration for us. Take for instance the FR you posted. The kitchen is between the living room and the pilot and co-pilot chairs. For us that was a bad design as we have guest visiting when we travel. Turning those two chairs around are okay but then the people sitting in then have to talk to people "through the kitchen and into the living room." No brainer for us. Another thing was the location of the television. Many of the newer rigs, and a few year older ones, have opposing couches and behind one of the couches will be a television that raises up. Now that is all well and good for just two people. Can you imagine having a few people over to watch cartoons (couldn't resist) and they have to kneel on the couch to watch TV? Guess what the opposing couch is going to watch. Also, the FR you posted has a TV that will be behind a slide when the slide is in. It does not make for easy watching when stopped for lunch, etc. Yes, I realize that some MH's also have a TV up front but we would rather have our swing out TV inside the slide and not strain our necks. As suggested, and it is where we found our present RV, the RV Trader web site is really nice for looking at floor plans and trying to find a good RV. My above is what we like/dislike and there are many that are very happy with different configurations and designs. To each their own and let all be happy. Just think, that $300,000 MH you looked at will be 3-5 years old when you are ready to retire. Most likely it will still be a good RV if it is taken care of. Our present one was 2 years old and had 11,633 miles on it. We missed the RV Show, darn it. We live in Texas City if you are down and about this-a-way. -
Braunig Lake for 3 days is very doable, and more so if you get into the back area. May still be a Passport America RV Park. Admiralty, Travlers, Blazing Star, are all in the SA area.

I used suction cups I purchased from Hobby Lobby. They have the hooks. I just slip the hook into the already made hole and stick it at the bottom of the passenger side window. Having it down low keeps it from breaking should the suction let go. (Which it has done on occasion.) As indicated in my December post, Kiley Mold is still in business and those brackets are designed to recess the plate to allow stepping on the ladder steps.

Who, What, When, Where or Just Lets Talk

They have a very new security camera system after that incident. Also lots more lights. I think they still have a night security guard, but he probably sleeps. 🙂 Don't forget, Murphy was an optimist. -

My coach is at America's Storage on 646. Covered but not enclosed. Yes, I would not turn on the electric as I know that would draw to much current. Well, I don't think it will be necessary this year. We are starting a warming trend and if everything holds the way it is going we should not have any more "cold" temperatures. -
Oh gosh! Just bring up a map on Google of San Antonio and then type in RV Parks in the map search/location area Example Also check out Camp Ground Reviws (Camp Ground Reviews used to be RV Park Reviews) Hill country is typically an area extending 60-70 miles NE and NW Cities in the Hill Country

Where are the pictures of the guests pad parking? -
Just spent a little over 3 weeks in New Orleans last month. Weather was nice. A couple cold days, like in the high 40's but bearable. We are having some of our two weeks of Winter. Yesterday and today are in the low 40's but then we go back up to the 70's. Our two weeks of Winter is never all at once. DB, you need to retire and head South for the Winter.

Instant Pot -- Essential Small Appliance for RVs?
wayne77590 replied to fagnaml's topic in General Discussion
Richard, here is some information on that subject: Instant Pot in an RV If you watch his video he uses Coke Cola as the liquid in the pot. Personally I think it is to effervescent for that, but there are recipes that use it. I use Apple Cider Vinegar and Apple Cider. In the release mode (venting) I always put a kitchen towel over the vent, or I'll create a towel with 4 paper towels and just place it over the vent holding down the end and letting it vent out the sides of the paper towel. I only do this to keep our cabinets from receiving the brunt of the steam condensation that is escaping. Turning on a kitchen vent helps also. I originally purchased a different brand pressure cooker. Trying to find recipes I kept coming up with IP recipes and converting them over to the other brands buttons was problematic - so I gave it to my DIL and bought a 6 quart IP - now I have both a 6 and 8 quart. -

p.s., Anything that can fit into the IP can be used, any utensil, pie pan, cake pan, etc. Yes they make specific things but don't leave out off the shelf items. Inside is just water and steam. Don't use anything that will melt easily. Stick with non-plastic items. -

Read first line in quote. Yes it is affected by elevation. Most likely why IP came out with the Ultra with altitude adjustment. My suggestion Instant Pot 8 Quart Ultra and check around for pricing.
