Transmission Indicator Light/Power Loss
wildebill308 replied to susanvenditte@gmail.com's topic in Engines
I would call Inland Truck Parts and talk to them. 9000 E. Highway 290, Austin, TX 78724 inlandtruck.com (512) 454-1488 I don't know what your requirements are for geting it done as a warranty issue and would check on that. Inland is where I would recommend if you were up here, it is where I would go. Bill- 6 replies

You realise to get the low price you have to buy 5 years of coverage or $349.95 up front for the RV coverage. Knowing who owns GS and seeing how well they hid the disclaimers I won't be buying any. In the last 8 years I have had -0- expense for tire repair. Bill

The easiest fix is installing the shutoff valve. See if the vacuum is moving the flopper door to give you defrosters. Some systems default to defrost if the vacuum is lost. 3/4 sounds about right for heater hose, but who knows what they used. Bill

Transmission Indicator Light/Power Loss
wildebill308 replied to susanvenditte@gmail.com's topic in Engines
Hi Jeff, Nice coach. I would take it in as a warranty item. I haven't dealt with any of the Allison shops there as I am in the FortWorth area. Someone may come along with a suggestion. Bill- 6 replies

Welcome to the forum. I would think this is a warranty issue. Where are you located and what coach do you have? Bill- 6 replies

Who, What, When, Where or Just Lets Talk
wildebill308 replied to hermanmullins's topic in General Discussion
I just wanted to report, I had the coach out for a run today and had no problems. As a concession, preventive measure, that we may have some colder weather later( it was 78 today) I have switched to the white bottle of Diesel Kleen. Better to be ready. Bill -
Good idea from Brett on the shut off valve. Something else to check, the system is vacuum-driven and the failure point is where the vacuum hose goes through the AC system on the passenger side. If you look at the vent on the far right side of the passenger side up under the dash, you will see that it is run through the AC system. How to test: the vacuum line runs from the intake on top of the rear of the motor (red vacuum hose) up and across the front of the engine compartment, to the passenger side, changes to a black hose where it dives into the AC system. You can test by disconnecting the hose where it changes from red to black, at the top of the engine compartment, just behind the battery. It is in a notch. If vacuum is there, reconnect and move to the passenger side. The black hose comes through the AC with a grommet sealing it. The line connects to a fitting. Again with the engine running, see if you have vacuum. Let us know if you have vacuum. Bill

I agree it isn't nice to talk about the temp to people putting their coach away for the winter especially when I am loading for a trip to a rally on Thursday. Bill

Yes it sounds like time for a new auto transfer switch. Yes Carl I have had my Portable Surge Guard protect my coach several times. I like the portable because I can check power at a site without having to move the coach. I have had to check as many as 4 sites to find good power when I was at Thousand Trails parks. Bill

Battery issues flat Towing
wildebill308 replied to studebrucer's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Kay is absolutely right. One outher thing, be shure you are in accessory mode, it is easy to go all the way to "run". Easey check, if your running lights are on you are not in accessory mode. Ran across that problem up on the Yellowstone helping a neighbor in the campground start his car. Bill -
Well the Op hasn't responded since October 22 lets hope has figured it out. Bill

Battery issues flat Towing
wildebill308 replied to studebrucer's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Yes the stock battery is not that big I don't remember the rating but you can go to a higher capacity battery. If it is the original it is about time to replace it anyway. I have replaced my battery and also start and run it during lunch stops. Haven't had a problem since the new battery. Bill -
I would call Big Foot and ask them for a better explanation. Have you looked for a parts breakdown on their website? Bill

You made me think and I had to smile because if I remember right the only places that had any FMCA discounts also had PassPort America and I will take the 50% discount every time. Got a slow start this year, I think we are on track to hit 30+ campgrounds. Bill

Thanksgiving in Westfield NJ - Where to park the RV?
wildebill308 replied to michael7debra's topic in Campgrounds
Debra, welcome to the forum. Unfortunately it might be hard to find a place this late in the year. Can you park in your driveway? That is a good way to get some experience and keep a list of what you forgot to pack. Some of the members that live in that area may be by with more information. Bill -
