Looking to move into the Class A MC World
wildebill308 replied to Kwcantera's topic in Type A motorhomes
It doesn't matter what they look like. What matters is the age of the tires. Cheack the date code. Bill -
That does seam a bit hi for what you said. I think I would shop it around a little. Is this place going to replace the turbo with new? Or just replace the actuator? The actuator is on the outside of the turbo. Look on You Tube there are several videos on them. Bill

I have never towed one but this is what it says in a owners manual I found on line. I would read what it says in the one in the car. It also had warnings about blocking the air flow causing overheating of the transmission when being towed. This is from page 290. Vehicle Care, Recreational Vehicle Towing Recreational vehicle towing means towing the vehicle behind another vehicle, such as a motor home. The two most common types of recreational vehicle towing are known as dinghy towing and dolly towing. Dinghy towing is towing the vehicle with all four wheels on the ground. Dolly towing is towing the vehicle with two wheels on the ground and two wheels up on a device known as a dolly. Here are some important things to consider before recreational vehicle towing: . What is the towing capacity of the towing vehicle? Be sure to read the tow vehicle manufacturer's recommendations. . What is the distance that will be traveled? Some vehicles have restrictions on how far and how long they can tow. . Is the proper towing equipment going to be used? See your dealer or trailering professional for additional advice and equipment recommendations. . Is the vehicle ready to be towed? Just as preparing the vehicle for a long trip, make sure the vehicle is prepared to be towed. Caution Use of a shield mounted in front of the vehicle grille could restrict airflow and cause damage to the transmission. The repairs would not be covered by the vehicle warranty. If using a shield, only use one that attaches to the towing vehicle. Dinghy Towing RS Model with Automatic Transmission Caution If the vehicle is towed with all four wheels on the ground, the drivetrain components could be damaged. The repairs would not be covered by the vehicle warranty. Do not tow the vehicle with all four wheels on the ground. Good luck Bill

New Class A gas coach refueling worries
wildebill308 replied to gthatch's topic in Route Planning & Road Conditions
Where is your filler locates? When I have to use smaller gas stations I use the end islands and stay on the outside. Keep an eye on the awning/cover over the fuel islands. It gets easier as you gain experience. Access is anouther reason I start looking for fuel usually around 1/2 tank. Bill -
Ray is right. Not many could look at a RV like yours and tell the age. I always tell places that ask that my camper is 9 years old. Let us know what you find out. Bill

What camper do you have? Have you tried Mc Farland RV Park? or Salem Village Mobile Home Park? Bill

Well the OP hasn't responded to questions. I sold my last RV at https://www.pplmotorhomes.com/ . They were running a special where they giving the cleaning if you listed. It is such a good cleaning I would have it done to my current coach but you have to list it to get the deep cleaning. It took about 30 days to sell for my agreed on price. Bill

The 2003 Fleetwood Tioga 23E is a nice RV. Like Dons2346 said the AGM batterie would make a good choice because they are a low maintence batterie. Where are you located? Bill

I don't know of one in the Dallas Fort Worth area that has the equipment, including the machine to true tires by shaving some of the tread off. The place I used, Cowser Tire and Service, 1700 NE Loop 820, Fort Worth, TX has a new computerized machine that seams to do a good job with the big 22.5 tires. Bill

I don't know anyone who has that equipment any more. Tell us who does have the equipment. Bill

We will see if the OP can tell us. I can't imagine a hydraulic cylinder you can't rebuild with out cutting and welding. Bill

Good project. I didn't know about the screw inside before. Bill

Freightliner XCS Chassis wheel alignment?
wildebill308 replied to bestred1's topic in Type A motorhomes
You are back to finding someone who has the proper equipment to do a 4-wheel alignment. It doesn't need to be a Freightliner dealer as long as they know how to do it. Look at all the rubber bushings on your suspension. I changed out all my bad ones with polypropylene ones that are stiffer. Bill -
I added the LED bulbs when they wired up my CRV. I believe we got the light kit from Blue Ox. It has worked well. I made adding the baseplate and bulbs as part of the deal when I bought my CRV. Bill

Needing an Rv campground near Virginia Beach, va
wildebill308 replied to Jwater22's question in Destinations/Attractions
Have you looked at the Virginia Beach KOA Holiday? Bill -
That is why you take a toad. So you can park the RV and go explore. I have never not ben able to find a place to stay. Just because you show up in a 36' or less RV doesn't mean you can get in to a camp site in the park. Bill
