  1. Welcome to the forum. Let me see the Prius manual says not to do it, because it will destroy the transmission. The FMCA towing guide doesn't have one listed and the largest maker of add on's for towing Remco says "Must be towed on a tow dolly." I am going to go out on a limb and say no it must be towed on a tow dolly. Bill
  2. Yes I was there in June last year. You always have the chance to get some cold weather if a cold front blows through. Mostly cool nights with days in the 60s I stayed in a nice place just south of Ellsworth Ma. Forest Ridge Campground, 40, Flockamoosen Way, Ellsworth, ME 04605, http://forestridgecampground.com/,(855) 299-6969. I used the toad to go to Arcadia and Bar Harbor. I can't imagine trying to find a place to park a coach in Bar Harbor as finding a place for the toad was not that easy. But do check out Geddy's or Galyn's or Route 66 Restaurant, or well you get the picture. After that we went Down East to East port. and stayed in the most eastern camp ground in the US. Seaview Campground & Cottages, 16 Norwood Rd, Eastport, ME 04631, eastportmaine.com, (207) 853-4471. If you have your passport's you can visit Roosevelt Campobello International Park, Welshpool, NB E5E 1A4, Canada, fdr.net, +1 506-752-2922. One thing to watch for is when you get near the border turn off the data on your phone or just turn it off. It will pick up a tower in Canada and not tell you. This can result in a BIG phone bill. 3. Welcome to the forum. Now is a good time to make use of one of your FMCA resources Go to the main page and click on towing guide. or http://www.fmca.com/motorhome/towing/204-towing-guides-towing-four-wheels-down.html Bill
  4. The question is, IS it hot? Have you investigated to see if it was hot? I would use a laser thermometer to check the rear brakes and hubs to see if it is hot. Always keep the vent in "recirculate" to keep odors out of the car. One more question, does it smell hot when it is on the dolly after being towed or after you take it off and drive it? Bill
  5. David glad you are having a good time. Best practice is to not start the main engine unless you can drive it to warm everything up to operating temperature's. When you do start it as soon as the oil pressure comes up go to fast idle This improves combustion when it is cold and helps reduce unburned fuel washing down the cylinder walls and contaminating your oil. 2 mouths isn't all that long. You can cut back on the generator to 2 hours once a month. I run the heat pumps to put a load on the generator. I try to find enough load to get to 35-40 amp. About the only other thing I might look at is the water in the batteries. OK thought of one more chore for you to keep you busy. Clean the air filters on the AC/Heat pumps they need to be checked and cleaned or replaced as needed. I am sure others will have a long list but the rest can wait for annual maintenance. Or we can send you a daily work list. Wash and wax the coach, clean and dress the tires and polish the rims. Bill
  6. Thanks for the up date. Glad you had a good result. Bill
  7. So why don't you add your coach to your profile and signature lines? Bill
  8. I would start in the nose area not under the dash if that was where the problem was before. Use a piece of hose to listen for air leaks. Bill
  9. Welcome to the forum. I was in several parks this summer that didn't offer cable or it wasn't working. Bill
  10. Yes I was wondering if the drain pipes are the right size and they installed the wrong size valves or what? If the drain pipes are right it would be easy to replace the right valves. Bill
  11. I don't see why you can't do it your self if you have the equipment. Bill
  12. Not a problem just keep an eye on the long range weather reports. If a storm does catch you just stop for a day or so till things improve. Bill
  13. Yes unfortunately this gasket is trying to do two things, be a gasket and a isolation damper to keep the vibration noise out of the RV. Over compressing it will cause it to fail and need to be replaced. I am going to try to remember the next time I change one to see what the final torque is. Bill
  14. That sounds good. You can stay west of the hills in Tennessee by coming down that way. When are you planning on leaving? Bill
  15. So coming down I-55? I haven't stayed in Memphis. When going East I head for Nashville. Little Rock - Nashville = a good day. Bill
  16. When I head out North East, Little Rock is my favorite first day stop. Downtown Riverside RV Park 250 S Locust St, North Little Rock, AR 72114, northlittlerock.org, (501) 340-5312 I-30 is like a lot of roads some good areas some not so great. I thought 40 west of Littlerock was much rougher. What route are you taking to get to Little Rock? Bill
  17. The key is snug. I don't have a set torque number. You want to tighten the bolts but not totally crush the gasket. When I use a ratchet I place my hand on the head and don't use the whole length of the handle to tighten the bolts. You can bend the brackets if you get to much torque. If I was to use a torque wrench I would go about 65-75 inch pounds. Bill
  18. I have driven it many times. The last was in September. What is your question? Bill
  19. Hear are a couple of video that might help you identify the parts. This may not be your unit but the parts and terminology is helpful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCqiVqZx5k4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpnG50EpQb0 I would get a copy of the right manual from the site that Wolfe10 posted. Bill
  20. Welcome to the forum.I have talked to a couple of people who have Continental HSL2 tires these are Continental's low rolling resistance fuel saving tire and they are happy with them. Hearer is a fun site for comparing tier size. https://tiresize.com/comparison/ Bill
  21. Good catch. I always do a walk around. Bill
  22. It is always fun to see what other dealers will offer here is another dealer. Might be fun to see what they will do against your other deals. http://www.vogtrv.com/default.asp?page=xNewInventory&vt=motorhome&make=tiffin+motorhomes&t=new&gclid=CjwKEAiA8K20BRDetNv3p6DNhXwSJADSwa3tT4SM8CmidsthjzLc9w2zpMsfsnRl8A2ca981XhnVuRoCYSrw_wcB#page=xNewInventory&vt=motorhome&make=tiffin+motorhomes&t=new Bill
  23. I have read a lot of post about converting to a residential refrigerator. I have never seen a post that was negative about the change over. I have never see a negative post about longevity of the residential refrigerators. I was thinking about it and I think that is quite remarkable. We hear about the bad negative things first on the forums before good things. I am wondering about the need for a separate battery bank and a second inverter/charger set-up. How many batteries do you have now? I am guessing that you have 4ea 6 volt batteries now. With the low draw of the new refrigerators and they don't run all the time why you would need a separate smaller battery bank. Bill
  24. I would use propane for water heater, refrigerator and furnace. Bill
  25. Let me give you a definitive answer. Lets look at facts tires gain tier pressure when they warm up. Tires are designed to handle this even at the max inflation on the sidewalls. The tire guy can probably give a better idea what the safety margin is but I bet it is fairly good one. Remember this is the minimum pressure for your load. I bet there is a small cushion built into that table to. We have people who can't move till they have their tire pressure set to the 0.01 pound and on the other end like the nice gentleman who was walking by when I was checking my tires this summer and asked "why are you doing that? I have the dealer check my tire pressure when they do my annual maintenance." He seamed un-fazed when I mentioned that tires can loose air over time. Now that is my definitive answer. Bill
