  1. Well it is sad when you spend that much money and don't do your due diligence. Why would you take possession if it had a bunch or problems? Once you sign that paperwork you have lost almost all of your clout. Why would you wait till it was out of warranty to start complaining? It seams the OP who has a total of 2 post continued to travel and use the coach with out getting the items fixed. Then is complaining about the "extender warranty" not being that good. How many times have I said there are to many loopholes in any extended warranty. Bill
  2. You will be hard pressed to find a place in the north east that doesn't have permanent/seasonal sites. I was in about 40 last summer and most had them. I never had a problem. Bill
  3. I never seined anything saying I could type or spell. I think a composite body on aluminum frame with composite bracing would shave about 40+ percent of the weight. I like the electric drive with a small power plant to keep the battery's charged. Here is something I posted (somewhere else) about using composite: I like carbon fiber parts. The only problem is you need a autoclave to cure the finished/semi finished parts. Here is a link to my old job where you can see several autoclaves in the top picture in the article. http://www.compositesworld.com/news/sierra-nevada-lockheed-martin-unveil-dream-chaser-composite-structure I was working on the F-35 and it has a lot of composite. With one this big you could make the entire RV from composite.http://www.aschome.com/index.php/en/asc-completes-worlds-largest-autoclave There are places doing work on building parts with out using a autoclave. http://www.gmtcomposites.com/why/autoclave I think you will see more use of 3D printing to make parts. Bill
  4. Glad to help. The campgrounds in the North East seem to be of the older style and have never been upgraded. You can use Google Earth to see some of the campgrounds. I spent 3 months up that way last summer. Bill
  5. I am hoping some of the technology trickles down to the TV industry. This is Walmart's new concept truck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NER9X4_gtYk Bill
  6. First make sure you can tow your car 4 down. When you get it set up you will be amazed how easy it is to tow. The only thing is you can't back up but that isn't a problem if you plan your stops. The only time I had to un hook the toad and turn the motorhome around was this summer when a state park gave me bad directions on how to get to their park. I will not go anywhere with out a toad you give up so much not having one. Bill
  7. Tom, one thing I like about the portable one over the permanent installed one is I have used mine to go check sites before parking the RV. This summer at Galveston State Park I had a bad power pedestal and had to move. I used the Surge Guard to go check several other sites to make sure I had good power before moving. I have been in several campgrounds where they say "go find a spot and let us know where you parked" So I check the power before picking a site. I will keep on using my portable until I get something like this. http://got50amps.com/ Bill
  8. Welcome to the forum. You have a interesting coach, I think they only made 23 that year. I would stay away from Galveston to as it is a prime area for spring break. I would look at the areas TBUTLER posted. Bill
  9. What time of the year are you going? You will need your Passports. I would stay on this side and take the toad across. I was in the area two years ago and stayed out near Lockport I don't remember the name of the place and probably wouldn't recommend it to a friend. Niagara Falls Campground & Lodging, 2405 Niagara Falls Blvd, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, niagarafallscampground.net, (716) 731-3434. Doesn't look to bad and it is close in. I would check them out in http://www.rvparkreviews.com/. There is a KOA in the area and should be OK. There is a couple days of things to do on the Canadian side. Don't forget to ride the Maid Of The Mist. Visit the Canal Side area of Buffalo https://www.canalsidebuffalo.com/visit-canalside/ They have done a great job of revitalizing this area. I was impressed this last summer. Bill
  10. Welcome to the forum. If you need power you can request a site with power. It cost more but if your husband absolutely needs power it might be a solution. It would help if you put your coach and other info in your signature to get better answers. See Brett's signature. With out knowing what coach you have there is no way to guess what your capacity's are. This last October While attending the FMCA 6 state rally in Conroe Texas I scheduled a water delivery and pump out jut over half way. If I remember right I got there on Sat and did the service on Thursday. I didn't have any problems. Bill
  11. Great, congratulations on your new coach and welcome to the forum. Bill
  12. Good catch Tom I didn't look at the dates above Georgew48's post. Bill
  13. Good hope that was the problem. Cheaper than a new Surge Guard. Bill
  14. I hearer to many people brag that they paid cash. Well bless their harts that may not be the smart way to do it. But they can impress people who don't know that they paid cash. Bill
  15. If you are planning to go I would be trying to get reservations NOW. The campgrounds go fast in the park. We stayed out side the park on the north side on 89. Yellowstone's Edge RV Park, 3502 US-89, Livingston, MT 59047, mtrv.com, (406) 333-4036. All the parks are busy during the season. We find it best to stay outside the park and drive the toad. Bill
  16. Yes I found my speedometer to be 5.8% slow. I to use my GPS speed. I always felt it was slow because I would creep up on traffic on the freeway. You know the ones who wouldn't go over if there was a forest fire catching up to them. At indicated 65 I was doing 68+. Bill

    Welcome to the forum. Bill
  18. Welcome to the forum. Now you can work on filling in the blanks on your map. Bill
  19. Yes any bad connection could be causing your problem. You are shutting off power at the pedestal before plugging in or unplugging right? Plugging in with power present can cause arcing that will damage connections. I would check your power cord and where it connects to the coach and any other connections that might be a problem. Bill
  20. Just a thought. Have you (when not plugged in) checked to see if the connections are good where the cable connects to the coach. Bill
  21. "I currently have a Sure Guard 34750. It has been giving me some weird alarms lately so I'm thinking about getting a new one. Question: What do you recommend and why. TIA" Is this at the same location? What kind of weird alarms? Every time I have gotten a alarm it has been the power. I have a Surge Guard 50 amp. If you have concerns I would talk to the company at: Tech Support at 800.780.4324 x 20311 or 727-812-0578 You might ask what it would cost to have yours checked out. I know mine saved me this summer from bad power at the pedestal. Bill
