  1. Thanks Richard. My link should work to now. I can't believe all the hoops the dealers are expected to jump through to get the company's to fix what they didn't build right to start with. Seriously you have to ask permission to troubleshoot a problem. The absolute dumbest thing I have heard (from a reliable source at the Vagus rally in Dec.) was only the purchaser/customer could look at and report defects in paint and body items. It seems a Newmar customer who had mobility issues asked the head paint and body guy to inspect his new coach. Well it seems the paint guy was new and didn't know about Newmar's "ruel" so he did a good job for the customer and wrote up a couple pages of problem areas. Well Newmar whet ballistic and wanted to deny all warranty claims. Last I heard they had calmed Newmar down but that is still one of the top stupid things I have heard of. Bill
  2. There are always post about how hard it is to get warranty work done on new RVs. Now at least somebody is trying to change that problem. National Indoor RV Centers and their founder Brett Davis is working to Changing the Future of RV Service. Here is a interesting article about the subject. https://camperreport.com/nirvc-changing-the-future-of-rv-service/ Bill
  3. What is the voltage coming into the controller? Bill
  4. Wayne, The outher problem is where are you going to go if all the areas around you are flooded. I chose to stay on the hi ground. I am an advocate of filling up before parking for that reason. Guess what I didn't do before Henri. Yes we had been down in Mystic Seaport and had no good places to fuel. I thought we could get by till we left on 1/2 tank. Well when it got close to 1/4 I went and bought a gas can and borrowed a couple more. Found a station open and added 20 gal to the tank. 8 hours later the power came back on. Might have made it without adding diesel but felt better having more. Bill
  5. Well I will say I didn't think we had done this well till I got to adding it up. We did 21 different states. One thing that helped add states is after Gillett we went to Maine (Grand kids involved) it was easy to add states up there. We stayed at 51 campgrounds. We put 11,620 miles on the RV. I didn't cheack the milage on the CR-V but it tends to mimic the RV. when I kept track before. My wife feels the same as yours about dry camping. But what do you do if the power for the whole state goes out? We were at ground zero when Henri came ashore. It had weekend some but still took out the power in RI. We actually had 2 experiences with Hurricane level stormes. The second one ( I think it was Ida) was more troubling when we were in the Lancaster KOA was the storm was spawning tornadoes. Bill
  6. Here in the mid cites it was 71 at lunch and 34 at 6:pm. 21 at 9:am it is warming up. Bill
  7. It isn't that bad but mid December when I was in Van Nuys looking for gas I saw cheap diesel for $5.11 gas was $4.879. I made it back to AZ before I had to buy diesel. Almost makes me feel bad only paying $2.96 in Texas. Bill
  8. You and my wife are of the same opinion about that. We did do a little though when Hurricane Henrie Knocked the power out for the state of RI when we were there. Glad I had a generator. Bill
  9. Well congratulations and thank you for your service. I would start with a couple shorter trips. South this time of year. Maybe somewhere like Quartzite after all it is the season. Bill
  10. I thought it might be interesting to see where everyone traveled last year. I found we had been quite a few places even with all the problems out there. To make it more uniform lets try this format. Number of states. You can only count a state the first time you cross the line. Number of campgrounds you stayed at. You can count one place each time it was a separate stay. I have some we stay at going out and coming back. Number and type of dry camping places you stayed? How many miles did you put on your RV last year? Bill
  11. Good to hear. Have a Happy New Year. Where are you located and what is all that white stuff in the pictures? Bill
  12. It certainly has gotten quiet. What is everyone up to? Bill
  13. I had always heard you would get a lump of coal in your christmas stocking if you were Wicked Nauti not TP. I realey don't think the coal would break down well if you tried to use it as TP. Bill
  14. Welcome to the forum. You do realise that a T-Mobile store is not the same as a T-Mobile tower? Bill
  15. Herman I tried to keep it about what paper to use. I thought most understood water standing in the shower was your gray water tank full indicator. Works every time. Bill
  16. I don't go back that far. But there was talk of dried corn cobs after the corn had been removed, well mostly removed. I haven't investigated the latest craze among some "green"RVer's where you have a version of the old "out house" or as it is called now a composting toilet. So I don't know how the paper would react/break down in that environment. I can only imagine the oder problems. Bill
  17. I would contact the helpline and see what they say. Bill
  18. Besides the Sears catalogs arn't coming like they use to and are to slick now.😁😂 Bill
  19. Welcome to the forum. Does the stove light (air in propane line). Sail switch working? Sometimes they move but don't close the contacts. Igniter sparking? Bill
  20. I don't see a problem. With any paper use plenty of water. I use Charmin ultra strong and have never had a problem. Bill
  21. Welcome to the forum. I don't have any experience in that area, but some one may come along. Bill
