That is a new one on me. I have never heard that internet truism before. I would definitely use a good Surge Guard that shuts off power for low voltage or hi voltage. When you think about it No refrigerator runs all day long. They run for a little while until they reach the right temperature inside, and then their built-in controllers turn them off. If it is Fairley cold and the compressor doesn't run for several hours is that infrequent use? I am wondering how it would be differed if you shut it off or the control board shuts it off. I have heard some residential refrigerators don't like anything but "pure sinewave" converters. That along with low voltage can cause "incremental damage" that builds up to where it fails. Ok I would ask that expert to show me some documented proof that turning your frig off will damage it. Bill

Depends on how long you want to take to get there. I almost always (if I am out that way) go to Las Vegas then I would go north on I-15 to I-70 then East to 191 south. I was at the South rim last Dec. It is always fascinating. I would recommend you start trying to get reservations in Trailer Village RV Park, 100 Trailer Village Rd, Grand Canyon Village, AZ 86023. https://www.visitgrandcanyon.com/trailer-village-rv-park?utm_source=google&utm_medium=yext The reason to stay at the RV park is it saves about a hour drive both ways and the shuttle bus stops at the RV park so you don't need to drive and it takes you to areas you can't drive. When you drive up you can go park in the big parking lots and catch the shuttle or walk over to the closest viewing area. But there is much more to see along the rim. That is a good way to straiten the tubing. Something else you can do/try is cut the end going in at a sharp angle 45deg or more. Now when it hits a obstruction (usually where the dipstick tube hits the block) you can twist it and get it to jump over the problem. Take a piece of the tubing with you to Home Depot or most hardware stores to find more. It is about the same as what is used for ice makers. Bill

Welcome to the forum. No it won't. I use Diesel Kleen year around and If temperatures are below 30°F I add Diesel Fuel Supplement +Cetane Boost (white bottle) for winter operability. It prevents fuel gelling and protects against fuel-filter icing. If you do have a problem and it is already jelling use Use Diesel 9•1•1 to reliquify gelled fuel and de-ice frozen fuel-filters. I try to stay where it is warmer but you can get caught by cold weather. Bill

That is cheap. I was talking to Cummins FW a couple weeks ago and they said it would be 4 hours at $200. per hour to run down a problem for a friend. They said it might be more if they felt they needed to put it on the dyno. Bill

Welcome to the forum. Where are you located? This is a subject that comes up frequently. It is a common thread on all the RV forums. I am not of that school of thought. My last coach was a 38' coach and I never found a place I couldn't find some place to camp. Some times it was outside of a National Park. But I always have a toad with me. Something they arn't saying (those who promote the small coach dialog) just because you show up in a small coach doesn't mean you can get into any of the RV/camp grounded in the park? Most for this year are already reserved with waiting list. I have been told that if I didn't stay in the park I wasn't geting the full "experience". So all the times before I had a RV and drove to places doesn't count? What about all the times you arn't staying in National/state Parks? Smaller RVs have less storage and less living space. I do agree that the older pre DEF and exhaust filters are better. Maybe one day they will get the DEF problems fixed but till then. My coach is a 2008 with a 2007 chassis. I would also look at Fortravel and there are a few older Newell's out there. That is a good example of why it is good to do all the maintence when you get a new coach. Bill

I found that the big mud flap created more turbulence and kicked up more/bigger dirt and gravel onto my CR-V. I had to remove my mud flap (because it got damaged by a big chunk of tire) and the toad is cleaner. Well cleaner is a relative term I have pictures where you can't tell what color the toad was. PatandTerry, Not picking on you but this is a very common subject on all the RV forums. My question is how do you know what chips and damage on your toad happened when towing? I haven't been able to tell. I have had this toad since new and now at 144,000+ miles (not including towed miles) it has some chips and outer dings. There are nun that I can point to and say it happened when towing. What is your current RV? If you put it in your signature it helps get better answers and you don't have to remember to add it to any post you make. See manholt and hermanmullins post as examples. Bill
