  1. I had the basement heater fail to come on causing the water to freeze the last few years. I have a backup electric heater that use 120 v but it will be good to have the system installed working. The main problem is when the cargo heater fail to come on it freezes the pipes and we end up without water. The reason why is the snap disk thermostat may or may not turn on as happen in Delaware during January 2017. I pulled into the campground in zero degree weather and the first thing I noticed was no water. Second thing was no cargo heat. So the next day we were faced getting a backup heater to thaw things out. No fun walking in freezing weather to use the restroom. I had a left over thermostat from a old garage heater one decided why not go with a real thermostat with more control. I didn't know how to put description after each picture so I hope you can follow in the order it was uploaded. 1 Snap disk, 2 Wires prepared for installation, 3 Wires installed for thermostat, snap disk disconnected, 4 Access panel being prepare for thermostat, 5 Access panel installed 6 Thermostat installed and set to 55 for testing, can be set as low as 35 but will be set at 40. 7 We have a working cargo heater
  2. I been running the Michelin XL Energy Z since 2014 and love them compare to the One years (Goodyear) that was on the coach.
  3. There is a plate on the right front of the generator to check to outgoing power. If no power there you have problems and have to pull the generator from the coach to repair. Happen to mine and cost 4k to repair as internal inverter with attaching wiring harness burnt up. Most covered by xtraride .
  4. As posted before, "Our Holiday Misadventure So Far" something always happen.
  5. Like I said before it is stated right on the dipstick.
  6. When I worked fleet I seen it happen and the person that do it gets lot of teasing. Well that goes for all oil spills.
  7. I kind of wonder why I see so many pickup trucks with travel trailers flipped. Maybe it not a great idea to tow 12k even if the truck is rated to tow 12k
  8. I have a 06 and it has a Transynd tag on the dipstick and also printed on the dipstick. It's best to buy a 5 gallon bucket of it and pump it in after you drain and change filters. If you going to flush this may be just enough.
  9. If you do it yourself at least you know it's done right as the shops don't care if your out of $10,000 with nothing to show for it. Limp it home and start removing pieces of the rear of your coach until you get the rad and cac out. You can have the rad tested at a radiator shop and clean the air cooler yourself. After that the fan hub will be easy to get out. Stop paying the big shops that don't care.
  10. The drop screen on our coach drops about 3 feet that is enough to zip the 6 foot extension to it. You unzip the extension and the three footer rolls up in the carefree awning no problem. There are 4 tie downs to keep it tight. I got away with using two 5 gallon buckets on each end.
  11. It's what ever the clean air act 609 wants for the giving time. In 1995 I had to be certified 609 r-12 and r-134a. Now I just had to be certified for r-1234yf. We are not allowed to say freon anymore since 1995, it's refrigerant.
  12. If you think things are complicated with r-134a, wait until you have the deal with 1234yf.
  13. What I was asking is where you disconnect the motor, are the terminals the same on both wires at the motor. I think it would be easy to reverse them there.
  14. When you took yours out, did the wires look reversible? I need to reverse one as direction not the same as driver side. How was it mounted?
  15. Those parker fittings are know to vibrate loose. Press down on the plastic piece and remove hose. Then clean the hose, put a little rubber lube on the end and press back in the fitting until it stops. Tug on the line the to make sure it's seated. Then test again. Others talked to you about safety so I won't go through that again.

    screw in tire

That maybe a $100 flat repair.
  17. Are you sure that you have to replace the whole pump assembly? On my Shurflo, I just replaced the pump head with the pressure switch. The pump wouldn't run because the pressure switch let the smoke out. The easy way to check it is to bypass the pressure switch to see if the motor wiill run.
  18. Last east coast trip, DW max the CC. Gotta dig out of that first.
  19. This is Stevens Pass at about 4,000 elevation. We have the monsoon this time of year on the island at 400 feet.
  20. I got the Michelin J rating tires and love them. Also I was able to lower the pressure a little for a softer smoother ride. The OneYears that came off were H rating.
  21. Yes you are correct about that 178th is the Box cars with the double reds dice sixes on the aft. We just got the super C models when I got there with the different being the engine. Those upgraded turned out the be a disastrous cause one to crash. Needless to say they were all grounded until we swapped them out for C model engines. I was suppose to be the next to be a crew on that helicopter that got destroyed. I ask to stay on the PE team after seeing that.
  22. I flat towed a 2006 Jeep liberty limited with a diesel and used a dummy key to unlock the steering for about 40,000 miles. One time I forgot and went only about 1/2 mile before noticing something wrong. I got out at a stop sign leaving the campground . I noticed the front tires putting load on themselves as well as the tow bar. The steering was close to straight but would of cause major problems if I exited and went down the highway. The SRX4 I tow now don't have a steering lock but you can smell rubber with long travel on highways. That is because the coach is steering the car, not like normal driving. If you feel the steering not returning to center, align with the caster set to maximum.
