Welcome! I was on I-70 from Grand Junction to Denver last July...not doing that again! Been on I-80, both directions and prefer it, just not much to look at. US rout 50 (the loneliest highway), wonderful drive, just have a full fuel tank when you get on it. There are some service, but few and far between..Truck Stop when you get to US 93 Junction! A lot of Mountain passes, and some of the most beautiful scenic views anywhere...take your time to explore, stop & take pictures! I took a week, last time in 2014. If my rig has no problems, yours won't either!

Yep, I remember well, when we only had one AC and no ducts and a small microwave...we had to turn of one to run the other! It beat a tent on the beach!

The more, the merrier! Mine is Silver Leaf, when it stopped working and my screen turned blue, I found out that I had a spliter. one cable in (from rear camera), 2 out, one to computer and one to rear camera part of screen. My splliter was located behind a fake wall panel in my driver side cabinet. Replaced and problem went away! In your coaches...don't know where it might be! If it was up to me, I would have the splliter behind the monitor!

Roland, when you leave RV Park, turn right and go the length of the Island, you'll have to pay $4 at the bridge, but is a nice scenic hwy, when you get to surfside take a right over the Intracostal Bridge and go to the first light, about 4+ miles, turn left and follow road around, until you get to Hwy 36, turn right and stay on 36 about 25 miles, then turn left on Hwy 521. You can stay on it all the way to Hwy 35 or you can turn off at the Bay City rd. and it will take you to Hwy 35, then turn left. IMHO, I would stay on 521 until it merges into 35! Interesting drive & if the little cafe, say's Sea Food, or Cat fish, it will be good eat's. Little Rustic, but good. Where the trucks are parked, guaranteed. When in Galveston. Try Shrimp & Stuff and Press Box for Lunch. Dinner, Salt Grass, Fish Tales, Fisherman Warf, Guido's, Landry's or fish taco at Salsa! Mario's has great Italian...they also have a Lunch Buffet, Galves Hotel, has a Sunday Brunch to die for, make a Reservation!

I run 2, the front zone & rear zone, on 50 or 30, except when it's over 90 and humid, then I run middle zone...for that, you need 50 amp! You get 45 A on each leg, that's usable! So, when on 30A figure 27 usable!

The 2 big ticket items on this tour is the Ferry's...close to $3,000 for my rig & toad. Pre paid as part of Tour cost. Linda is taking notes on RV Parks, in case we come back on our own, in a big rig! Bill, my card is Credit/Debit, I never use pin#'s and the card adjust's for exchange rate in any money, be it Euros, Dollars or Yen! I don't have to call anyone! Mike, in a word? Yes! However, you don't have to go to 45 foot and 47,000 pounds for the ride! In 1974 I rode in a GMC 24 foot and the ride was equal to a Cadillac, the roads was not real wonderful in Norway back then...mostly cobblestone! Newmar Vantana 40' comes to mind and also Dutch Star in 2014 had a 38', both models with tag! Now we can get back to OP!

Mike, now you know why you need a tag axle...I have yet to take things off counters! That includes Hwy 35 from Crowley to Kaplan! Or Hwy 67 from I-10 to Abbyville.

Well, campgrounds started with 15 amp service, then RV's came out with 30 amp and later 50 amp, now (past 10 years+) it's a lot of coaches that are set up for 100 amp! Soon there will be that available at campgrounds. Currently, it's mostly private and high end resorts that have it. As it is, I have not had a problem finding 50 amp...but hen maybe it's a PA. thing!

Tim, not hard to find. Just very expensive!!! I burn Diesel, but regular gas was around $1.80 a litter, they don't go by Gallons! It's 3.785 Litters=1 gallon=$6.80! We are going in with a full tank, 188 gallons...I figure it will cost me about $1+ per mile, after the first Canadian fill up!

Wayne, agree! The old section is great, if your under 30 foot and no slides! It's really old, stayed there the first time in 1976!!! Frog City is real good for one night, easy in and out...handy fuel stop next door, but no truck noise! If I'm staying in that area for more time, then I go to the camp in Kaplan, LA. Linda & I will be there for Easter...crawfish, crayfish, mudbugs=good eats! Specially when it's free!

If your in one of the 22 city, test areas, Yes, then get the 5GB. If you can only get 4GB, then it's a toss up! The good thing about FMCA plan, one penny for the Jet Pack...I paid $179 !

Welcome! If your coach is diesel, it needs to be taken out (if possible, depending on where you live) and driven for about 50 miles, every 2 months (makes no difference if your in a garage or outside). You also, should turn on your generator for a couple of hours each month and bring it up to full load. If it's a gas coach, then you can skip step one!

Just because FMCA stopped using Kiley, does not mean that everyone else did. Kiley does all the plates & mounting brackets for Good Same, 100's of Chapters if not 1,000's, Escapees, LCIF, BPOE, Masons and Shriners International...that I know of. I have a Shriner Plate on order! I don't use the Vinyl stick on because I have another hard Vinyl plate that my egg fit on. It say's "National Director" on it. I use Commercial grade, black. ties...been on my ladder for 6 years, with no sign of wear or brittleness!
