  1. Sharon. Good luck, hope it all works out for you! Please, let us know the results. It will help another, who has your situation. Carl
  2. Doug. Welcome to the Forum! What year and model is your current CC 40 footer and what year and length Beaver are you looking at or for? As a overview, the Beaver and CC, was at the top of the line up! They where both built in Oregon. Never heard off any ride issues or complaints about either chassis, don't know what you mean by "Creature comforts"? With top of the line coach, you got quality! Parts? Yes, just like CC. The parent company for both was Monaco, when Monaco filed for Bankruptcy it dragged Country Coach, Beaver, Holiday Rambler and Safari down with it. Today, all but CC is owned by Allide's division REV. They have all the parts. CC is owned by Winnebago as of 2015! Carl
  3. Lajitas, TX and Big Bend Park, comes to mind, unless you have Mexico/Canada!

Joe. Somewhere in my feeble memory, back around 2006, when I got my Chevy P/U with the Duramax, I was told that all diesel engines had to be EPA complaint by 2024 with the exception of trains, military and Government vehicles....strange that I should hear the same at 9am today! Also, the new DEF compliant from you in this Post. Now who do you think pay's? Not the EPA. Government. That leaves the Industry, then the Consumer !

Don't bet on it...the Green Huggers are coming after anything that they don't have or need. Who thought that a new mandate for DEF would come out 7 years after introduction? I didn't know, Joe had no idea! What's next? It's in the books, 26% more reduction by 2027, they just moved it up by six years after meeting by RV and trucking Industry with the Government 2 weeks ago, who wanted it by 2021...Oh, I forgot Government and Trains are all exempt.
  6. While your at it why don't you read my second reply to Phil. Apparently you missed it because I didn't put the "c" in Phil's name..
  7. Wayne. He might have already found "Dead End" and is now on the way back to Looney Toon RV park!
  8. It's not the sustained winds that bother me, I can adjust for that. It's the gusts and if your in a dusty area, like anything West off Ozona, TX on I-10. Poor visibility. Anything over 40mph wind and am off and sheltered...Don't want to replace windshield and windows, or a new paint job! Carl
  9. Tiffinallegro1. Welcome to the Forum and a Big welcome to our Family! Wish you well in your new mode of travel...happy trails. Carl
  10. I'm going to re locate my engine batteries to a more accessible location. Mine are on a slide tray, above the Jack hydraulic lines and reservoir. I have to remove the bay door to get to them, also the tray is right above the turbo...what idiot comes up with this? I have plenty of room for a 2 battery self in the house battery bay, still be able to get to both inverters! So, I will go to TCC before (I hope) Texarkana the 17th! Brett. Your right. Problem is, we get no feedback from Sharon, OP, but every 2 weeks or so, but no comment from her on questions! Frustrating!
  11. John. I also carry a level. I just like to have my stove top level...Since I'm all electric, I don't worry about the fridge, but I cook a lot when I'm camped for a week + ! I have yet to be in a coach, that everything built inside is level to the floor! Also, a level is only as good as how often it's calibrated...I do all of mine once a year, 4 at my house and 2 in coach.
  12. Phil. With AC 13' 1". I get a warm feeling at 14' 6"...there is a parkway (Toll) in Oklahoma that has 13' 6"....never been on it. Have seen what happens after a paving job on a underpass that was 14'+ and a 18 wheeler got high centered. By the way, this conversation is on another Post, think it was in 2015. Carl
  13. I have passport on my iPhone 6, AT&T $30 for a month of unlimited talking & texting to any other iPhone user in Europe..I'm there twice a year now and 99% of the folks I speak with have iPhone 6 or 7! My normal bill is $102 a month...with Passport, it's $143, Throw away phone with 400 min=$85, I still get billed $102 when my iPhone is home. No brainer! Herman is right. Cost me nothing in Mexico or Canada...I just use 611 to let them know. One time I forgot, $389 because I also forgot to turn off my smart phone on ship!
  14. Roland. High end coaches generally, not all, have air/jack or air only leveling. When you dump the air, the RG will either fold in or out...murphy's law will also keep it straight and it's not designed to bear 28 to 35 tons of weight, so by mounting it high, less likelihood of destroying the RG. Most RG's that I see, has the name of the Manufacturer on it and I think that is it's true purpose! 40+ years ago, I had a RG installed that looked like a long haired broom, that hung from the bumper to the ground, also did not work...gone after a month! Just mud flaps behind drive wheels worked better ! I'm having mine removed before I go to Texarkana next month...we'll see what happens to jeep and rear of coach! Carl
  15. Sharon. Due to the placement of your batteries to begin with, how often do you remove the caps, all caps, to look at the water level? By keeping them at the right level with distilled water, I don't understand how a Temp. Module is going to help? Carl
  16. You got a deal. Joe, kept me up to date on his NO, LA. trip last year...along with photos & you do have a very nice MCI. What's the torque and gearing on that DD? Carl
  17. What size tires? on what make of coach? Hard to believe that a tire dealer would have 2008 and 2013 new tires in his inventory to begin with! As for 2016, what is the DOT number? Carl
  18. Don't think we'll find out ! Can't blame him, I would not fess up! Been there and have the photos!
  19. Wayne. Wall Mart was full of OTR's and that's the only big lot in Deming, other than dirt RV parks. Herman. When I'm parked on air only, I feel very little rocking...maybe the 57, 000 pounds have something to do with that? I level the same as you, only I don't use a door, since I don't have one, if I'm camped for more than 2 night's, I use a cracked egg in my frying pan...if it stay's in center, I'm level as far as I'm concerned! Then I fry the egg and eat it.
  20. Philc. Just out of curiosity, what do you suppose would happen if I, or any other full size Class A, traveled where there is less than 13 foot 6 inch clearance?
  21. Yes, yes and yes! Unless it's in the garage or enclosed trailer, this is still a question to ponder! I think Herman is on to something, NASA !

    DEF Hydrometer

Bill, wish it was that simple. We are the Government and we are here to help you stay Green! The bad news, is that the EPA is going to come after pre 2007 engines eventually...
