  1. Other choice would be Carlsbad to 380 West out of Roswell and take either 70 over Ruidoso to 54 Noth or stay on 380 thru El Capitan all the way to I-25 North in Antonio, Socorro I another 25 miles North on I-25. Quickest way is as obedb suggested. I was on 82 from Artesia to Cloudcroft in my Jeep, last month and it is rough most of the way! I'll be going to Taos via Ruidosa in May and will be taking 285 out of Roswell to I-40
  2. Will not start on boost. When you looked at water level, was that on all batteries? They where all to the full mark? I know they are brand new, that don't matter, when your on shore power, does your house batteries get charged? I'm thinking over charge and your low on fluid or you have a bad or weak cell. Carl
  3. Joe, a younger version of you? That would be too much !
  4. To run todays tech devises, I would go with pure sine, since your appliances will run on either. The Storm was entry level class A, in the 90's. I just don't see why you want one, since you can charge your computer and phone via a adapter to 12V..like a cigarette lighter! Carl
  5. Juan. Welcome to the Forum! I have had all of them at one point and currently use M&G, AFO also works as good...matter of witch works best for you. M&G is manufactured in Athens, TX. about 250 miles from my house, family owned and operated, they come to all the rally's so I have constant support. My girl friend has AFO on her toad, Ford Expedition...Linda also has a DP. Carl
  6. Bill, I'm not an electronic expert by any means, but my gut feeling is to re install the second transfer switch. Carl
  7. I'm not on Chrome and your there! Do you need a Service Dog?

    Tyre Pressures

Keith. A 1999 Fleetwood Storm is going to ride harsh, due to suspension system alone. Getting weight and proper pressure will improve it a little. The important thing is the weight and the balance of the weight, you want equal distribution. When I drove in your country, I felt the same way! Getting used to a steering wheel in the passenger seat, was a real thrill for a couple of weeks!
  9. Tracy. Where there is snow, it's also cold. Did you add anti gel to your fuel...and always have a full tank when parked for a long time! I also add Stabil to my fuel tank for diesel and gas, when it's not being used for more than a month. Bill, is right. Just starting a diesel and letting it idle, does more harm than good...drive the coach. The generator will only run if you have more than 25% fuel in your tank, that's a safety feature, so you will not run out off fuel. For a trickle charger, I would look at a 12V Marine Tender ($125), simple and very effective. Was going to have one installed yesterday, but unlike Monaco, I don't have a 120V plug in engine compartment. Mine will be a little different today! Will post what they did. Carl
  10. When you turn 90, you wont have to worry about changing anything.. Sorry, it was the Devils fault. Millionaires? Don't know, don't care. But you don't have a DP and drive it further than around the block on SS alone. We know what you have, so please, we are not complete idiots!
  11. You need spell check..
  12. FIVE. Don't mention name, city and State. That place would be so full of DP's, you would have to draw a number, 6 months in advance!
  13. FIVE. Have you had any issues, since the lost ground, last year? Carl
  14. Please, we don't need that many to show up at Six State in Texarkana! To me, getting there and getting back home that is half the fun...the other half, is a grate, blow out, get together! Linda and I had a blast and looking forward to Indy.
  15. I'll let you know, when I see the bill...I think it will be one of the lesser amount items! There is nothing wrong with the Sony, got it out, cleaned it up and got a wall mount from Wall Mart, it was picked up by The sacred heart food kitchen in San Antonio...along with a lot of other donated items! I'm not a Catholic, but I'm a God fearing man!
  16. I now have a new Vizio TV mounted. It will be connected tomorrow. Got my cameras working again. Waiting on engine batteries, they will be here tomorrow am, Transfer Switch/Surge Protector and Inverters will be looked at tomorrow...hope to leave by Thursday am or I'm going to have to do a R/T Galveston to sign one piece of paper, 471 miles in a off road Jeep on Fwy!
  17. I have a 10 year old GE in house, along with a commercial see thru by Zero. 2007 and 09 must have been stellar years...nothing lasts that long on a barrier island. Pre 2006, I was invested in several restaurants in Galveston and our fridges would last an average of 5 years. I call my fridge inverter, bank #2, when driving it will run the fridge. Nothing else! Since it gets to hot in summer in Tx. I run generator for AC and everything else.
  18. Bill, your close...now they have clear, see thru Gorilla tape ! I can still watch TV. But the rolling earthquake don't give me a sense of peace! Keep thinking about a heavy 46" Sony on my head or in part of my lap!
  19. Yesterday at a Red Stripe Truck Stop in George West, Texas, my rear wheel hub cover and all hub nut covers took a walk, while Linda and I was paying for fuel. I had just washed and waxed my rig before leaving Rockport, TX and I also take a walk around my rig looking at my tires while I'm fueling. Then I pull forward until I'm clear of pump and go in to get my receipt. When I get back to coach I do another walk around, looking at the toad and rig, that's when I saw that I had a non dressed Alcoa! That's a first for me! Filling up in the future is going to take longer. I will be watching Linda's rig while she is inside and she will do the same for me! I have front and side cameras, but the wheels are too low, so I only got a baseball cap! Carl
  20. After adding up the cost of all the necessary equipment involved, along with my height and age, I come to the conclusion that I would much rather sit in a comfortable chair, with a beer and pay someone who is half my age and has all the certifications and tools! If I feel that my retirement fund and income is not enough...I'll get a gasser! Having said that, my significant other, does most of the work herself...she has the space, equipment and a mechanical mind...25 years of drilling water wells, until she sold it, but still have all the trucks, derricks, hydraulics, etc. in back of property along with a 50' x 70' metal building and shop! That's her gig. I go golfing. So, when it comes to the care and feeding of a DP coach...to each, it's own! Carl

    Hydralift

With all due respect. We don't need to see this on 3 different post's!
  22. DD69. In my coach, I have 2 Magnum 2800 inverters. one for 120v and one for 12v. I have yet to turn off fridge, even when in garage. Carl
  23. Joe. really nice! But, I'm a multi color (blues, greens, red, yellow and tan) guy! To dark for my taste...but then again it will hide the stains until another day!
