dons2346. Nice thought, but we, FMCA do make $$$ on Conventions, dues and merchandise, like logo shirt, jackets, hat's, etc. Since FMCA don't get grant money, how do you think we are able to pay salary's to all the FMCA employee's...they volunteer? Not ! When you use the FMCA RV Park at Headquarters, you pay, it's not free and we have a very large building to maintain, pay taxes, etc. I see the P & L, every year! Carl

Ian. I fully agree. Just trying to answer the OP. Even Alaska, you can cross the Hwy in a ATV or UTV, but you can't roll down the road. That's what trailers are for! Carl

WBill another great choice for a "Resort"! I have stayed in Mountaindale and it's a nice place...there's another, large RV park, right side of I-25 just before the first Exit...also a nice place! All Big Rig friendly! Carl

kenlea98. Welcome to the Forum! Couple of questions. Is it a Cummins 450? Chassis? What part of the Country is the coach located? When it comes to a DP, mileage only matter if it's too low. Diesel engines don't like to sit around. The location of the coach is of importance, due to salting of the roads in winter. I would have an independent licensed technician look over the coach, before putting out $189K. Have you checked the DOT number on all 8 tires? It will tell you when they came out. The Tour is 2013 build date, but what about the chassis? Tires should be changed out every 6-8 years (ck for cracks on sidewall of each tire). What options are on the coach? Are you buying this coach via a Dealer and do they want your current coach + $189K ? If so, your paying too much in my humble opinion...NADARV will tell you, high and low retail on yours and theirs and they will offer you whole sale on yours! Check interior for any kind of spot's, could be water damage, look for delamination or soft spots. Open all bays and look for rust (brown spots)! Good luck. Carl

Joe. I agree, weld over weld, is generally not a good thing, but since I have not and will not do stainless, have no idea if it will weaken it or not. Your DW wake up swinging ? Ha, Joes been at it again.. Carl

California, Oregon, Washington Late Summer Trip
manholt replied to oscarpower's question in Destinations/Attractions
Oscar. Your asking questions that can be better answered by the Chamber of Tourism for each State, they all have .com for internet and 800# for phone. So do the State and National Parks...just like FL. Been there many times, Gainesville included. Carl -
Chris. Please clarify, are you saying that 2,100+ people have registered? Or 2,100+ Motorhomes, with one or more people in it, have registered? Then you have all the Vendors, Dealers, Manufacturers and Show Coaches! Begs the question. How many coaches and other types of rigs can this place hold? Yes, I'm signed up and so is my woman friend, so that is 2 people, in 2 DP's! Please answer all you can. Carl

Vince. Please, a little more explicit on the, "Side wall cracking"! Side wall cracking is normal on all tires, regardless of brand. Carl

Got it, it doesn't add more HP, just uses less HP from what's available, that is more HP to drive axel from what you have now! Would be nice to have that for a side radiator! Carl

I always have my coach serviced at Cummins in Houston, every year around now. I don't have to worry about the correct fluids for the engine, generator or Allison. Yea, there are cheaper places, but at least I know who to fall back on! Always felt, you get what you pay for, if it's a known, reputable place to begin with. I'm to old and brittle to do it myself. Thank you, Mr. Johnson, for your time and expertise. Carl

Ed. Per Cummins, I could have added HP to the engine I have, but then I also would have to re configure the gear change points in my Allison 3000...that costs some serious money! There are several posts on this subject on this Forum under Engines. look at 2014 and work your way up...it's an eye opener! Carl

Rick. Welcome! Mine gave a clunk sound, turned out that I had a bad battery, Changed out all my acid batteries and installed AGM's...my clunk has not come back! If yours is acid, when was the last time you looked at water level? If they are low, add distilled water only! Carl
