  1. Joe. If you go to Sanibel/Captiva Island, look for a CG in Ft. Myers and use toad...narrow roads and lot's of traffic is the norm! You might want to visit Pine Isl. also.
  2. I wondered how long it would take to double up again! Some thing never change! Kay. Point taken and it makes sense! Carl
  3. Kay, if you read what I wrote, I also used Dawn! nighthawk. No need to sway back and forth...don't know where you drive, but my old 70's, 80's and 90's Class A, 24 foot to 32 foot had lousy suspension and was truly a rolling earthquake on any road ! I got the Ice, water, liquid detergent thing from a member of The Bus Nuts, back in 1976 at a FMCA Annual Rally, he had a Flexible conversion! Carl
  4. Ian, With a Jeep, it depends on year, model, automatic or manual...mostly year. My 13' don't even need the key! The 09' was as your Chevy and the 07' was ACC and the same as Chevy. Also, towed a Toyota Tundra TRD Auto in ACC, a 2500 Chevy Duramax 4X4 and 2 Chevy Colorado's V-8, 4X4...Chevy has been the easiest, besides the 13' Jeep I have now!
  5. Tom. You in a gas or DP coach? Make and Model would help. As Brett said, have the alignment, toe, caster checked before adding anything. Carl
  6. Hi Ian. Have you ever towed in the ACC mode? I have, and both times had to either disconnect the battery, or as Kay said...learned that lesson real quick at RV park, when it would not start...both where Jeeps! Carl
  7. Then go for it...there is no, you have to use this or that law, as long as it does the job and you can hook up chains or cable, I like to cross mine, between tow/towed, with a brake system, then that's it ! If you notice, I don't use a base plate of any kind for my Jeep! I slide the pin for Roadmaster, using my D ring holder...3/16" Steel Bumper! Carl
  8. Bill. Per the new and improved Federal Regulations, if any Tech in any shop, should detect (don't know how they would know) that the DEF is home made, they shall contact the Fed's immediately, refuse to service unit, or it's a up to $10,000 fine for shop! Off course if some one urinated in tank, call Hazmat..LOL. The Fed's want their Tax!
  9. Kay, if you read what I wrote, I also used Dawn! nighthawk. No need to sway back and forth...don't know where you drive, but my old 70's, 80's and 90's Class A, 24 foot to 32 foot had lousy suspension and was truly a rolling earthquake on any road ! 10. I had the basement unit on my 07' . My heat pumps worked, but as Herman said, it did take up to 10 minutes to really give out noticeable warm air...it has a way's to travel and then goes down thru the ceiling ducts. On mine, and very common on most basement AC/Heat in a coach, one of the ducts had been pinched, when they installed the end cap! Have you checked and or replaced your filter? It's a common house filter, I think it's 18" x 13" x 1". Mine was located in bedroom, passenger side, in a drawer under closet. Since you can't wash it, you need to get a new one and replace each month your using the AC/Heat system! Carl
  11. Vanhaeren. Welcome. The last "Van" I met was from the Netherlands. Since you "have had 2 Monaco's", What do you have now? If you include the Year, Make and Model under your name (like mine) we can help you out a lot easier if the need arises in the future. Carl
  12. Every time, I visualize and feel as if I'm there with you! Like a fly on the wall...not a participant in the normal, mingle way..an observer in color. Carl

    Consumer Alert

That's true, but the bank will still have a record of who, where and when...get a copy from your bank. Carl
  14. Keon and Hayes Family. Welcome to FMCA! Enjoy your travels and all this great country has to offer...Sincerely hope you can make it to Indiana for the Summer reunion. You would learn a lot about the RV life, your rig and meet some great people. The information will be in your issue of the FMCA Magazine, or on line at the Main page, fmca.com! Carl
  15. Some things don't make sense! 8 hours on Generator = $82 in gas? You mean $8.20? Airport Hotel and Flight is cheaper for 2, than a night in a RV Park? Carl
  16. Richard, welcome. Is that all the bay doors or just one? How many slide out's do you have? As Bill said, this could get lengthy without knowing what you have! Some of mine, open up with one strut, some with 2 (most common) and I have 2 bay doors that are side open. All are aluminum. Some coaches don't have any struts, just a latch attached above the max height of door....Think we need more input from OP. Carl
  17. No. If it's down, just leave it and add more later, that stuff don't last forever. Chemically, it's the same as urine and distilled water .
  18. All slides out in Gale force + wind and then you can let all awnings out...fly away!
  19. Great site, I like the motion detector. Also, replacement bulb for my Halogen head lights...great site, thanks!
  20. Yup, great insurance and do the same in my location.. Carl
  21. FIVE...they forgot to put them on mine! All I have is the normal door light, I feel like a second class citizen.. Come to think about it, I have felt that way, for about 8 years now! Carl
  22. BC. Was your slide or slides out at the time? If not, then they where not fully in and locked...I have had water come in top and sides with slide out. Never from bottom! In 67 mph sustained wind and heavy rain, all 4 off my slides would be in the closed position. I may be wrong, but I don't think slide seals are made for those conditions! Carl
  23. poppi175. Thanks for link...saw them in Perry, GA. Rally, then forgot! Carl
  24. Now, if we could hear back from OP? That would be nice!
