  1. Bill, I never want another! It's listed as a Sea/Land toilet, I've had it in a boat and it works fine, both wet and dry flush...in a RV, not ! Don't know why... Their both rolling earthquakes. I suspect Brett may have one in his sail boat. Carl
  2. Bill, how will that react to a Dometic Electric 8700 macerator toilet? Anecdotal knowledge... Carl
  3. If your ever in the area of Hwy 145 between Cortez, CO. and Telluride, CO. there is a National Forest Campground about 10 miles south of Lizard Head Pass. It's a very nice place to spend 3 or 5 days. Park rd. going in is OK but steep, at bottom go slow, but no overhangs to worry and they have 30A...no ac needed, ever. Water is available at sites (low pressure) I used it to fill tank, then use pump. No sewage, but dump site available. I took my Jeep in first, then coach...I was not the only 45' in there. It's at 9,700 feet...I got acclimated at Dolores River RV Park, 7,200', for 6 weeks and going on the higher elevation 4x4 trails...San Juan Mountains! Carl
  4. Kay, there are something's that I'd rather not know, this is one! I figured out a long time ago, that if you really wanted to be a con man or woman. become an environmentalist !
  5. Joe. What? You don't feed the girls after pumping...with a Dinner next door? Shame, shame!
  6. BillAdams. Saudi has about 2 more years of oil reserves, then they will have to buy it...we have estimated 150-200 years reserve and a lot off it we can't use because of environment specialists (ugh), govt. etc. With homegrown production, we could be looking at diesel prices below reg gas again! Politics...Ugh! I-10 between Lafayette and the Beaux Bridge! I-20 East of Monroe! I-30 Little Rock! I-40 before Memphis! Carl
  7. Now, if we could only use "Charmin Ultra", heaven on earth in a RV!
  8. Blake, I have not heard the name Red Rock Canyon in a lot of years. That used to be the Finnish Line for the Mohave Desert Moto Cross race in the late 50's and 60's! Normal winner was Steve McQueen!! I had a modified Honda 150 Scrambler...You brought back some wonderful memories! Your right about the Canyon, used to camp (tent) there a lot with Troop 222, Boy Scouts, Santa Monica. Same with Camp Wolverton in Sequoia. Carl
  9. My extra 5' does make a difference in what I can use. I mostly go for Truck Stops, hardly ever in FJ, Pilot or Loves anymore as their prices are mostly out off line, even with 5% or .8 cents kick back. Coming up to Shawnee, OK. I used a Chevron TS and got 72 gal. at $2.029...Loves, 12 miles away was $2.239, same with Pilot across the road from Chevron! I'm believing that the "kick back" brands are padding their price for the kick back, also they have a lot more trucks at a time. I don't want to sit in line for 15 to 30 minutes waiting. I have also used a regular gas station that I could get a pump on the outside and be off the road...makes me unpopular with the cars and very popular with the station! A 150 gal. fuel tank is not as great a thing as one would think. 25% is still designated as a shut off, of Generator and depending of where the fuel line enters the tank, you never get at all the fuel available. As for OP...Until I got a 97' coach, I never had a problem as he described, but up until this one, I learned to live with it...I have heard of all the fix it's and Desertdeals is the best ! Carl

    House Batteries

Blake, at least you have easy accesses to your engine batteries! Carl
  11. 9 and 10 mpg's? I'm lucky when I get 6.4 !!! Is that by computer or actual known mileage vs actual gallons used? I go by gal, miles...no gen on. Carl

    House Batteries

Herman...yes, then cross your fingers and toes!
  13. I have apologized and so has Herman. I was more, out of bounds than he was! Carl
  14. Rodger. I have been up and down that coast road from San Diego to Astoria, Oregon, more times than I care to think off, in all class A's gas and DP's from 22' to 45'. It's not a race course, it's a lovely drive and most times I use a month doing it...not in Feb for your area. I like the late Spring and early Fall. First time was 1969 and last from Astoria was 2014. Carl

    Shocks

FIVE. I got the same. Changed them to Koni and am very happy as it does not sway as much anymore!

    House Batteries

When I went from wet to AGM last month, the Magnums automatically reprogrammed themselves....Got to thinking about that, so I called tech at AC...My coach came with all AGM's in 2010. First owner, changed all to wet, for whatever reason, and did not re program! 2, 12V for chassis and 8, 6V for house, with 2 Magnum 2800 Inverter/Charger. No more blinking lights and pads, no clunks in the night.... Carl
  17. Herman. Then everything else, needs doing... R. LeBlanc. The one's who talk "a lot of miles", generally are referring to gas engines...DP's your looking at several hundred thousand miles, before it becomes a issue! The other components of a coach, will wear out, long before the diesel will...reverse that for a gas engine!
  18. Ditto! Have sent PM's to OP's before, never gotten a reply! Lesson learned...don't give up.
  19. My front door, has a picture of a Shriner carrying a child on it...we can't stop advertising!
  20. David. Compared to Herman & Bill, I'm the Village Idiot...Tax? Is near, but not dear to my heart. Do have a few Q. I'll be there this pm! Carl
  21. Had to have my front windshield replaced, about 8 weeks ago...$2,800+. In 2011 a split front windshield was $1,200 each. There are several good insurances that have disappearing deductible, for each year without a claim! As Herman just wrote, as I'm writhing!
  22. Good. Glade she got someone. But then you had more info than we did...
  23. Brett, it did. Thank you! Will you be in Shawnee? Carl
  24. Big difference between a car and a coach! If AAA has folks that deal with both all the time...no problem. Is AAA available 24/7/365 to handle a Motor home? Cost per year? What's NOT covered? I use Coach Net. Why? They are better equipped to handle large DP's, I'm 45 foot, heavy! I also found that Good Sam was good for when I had gas coaches! Check them all out, then make your decision, based upon what they offer and don't forget about who can safely tow your rig, if need arises...I have had one towed twice in 48 years! You may never need that, but even one time, you need to know that the folks you deal with, knows what kind of tow truck to send. Also, don't forget about Insurance for coach and everything on exterior of coach...make sure you get glass coverage! Luck.
