  1. WOW...can of worms! 16 year old, raised in the country on a ranch or farm...yea, I'd ride! City kid? No way! Carl
  2. The only thing I can pass on. Yes you can drive a coach to Panama City, there you will have to take the Ferry to Peru. Most folks think the Pan Am goes un interrupted to the tip of Chili...wrong. South of Panama City, is a national park and what may have been a road at one time, is now overgrown Jungle. The park is only open during daylight...to dangerous from dusk to dawn...smugglers! I would be looking at a Earth Roamer RV. The normal "Cookie Cutter", RV's would not even make it to Costa Rica , much less Panama! The Pan Am is beautiful in pictures, only problem is that it does not go continuously as a paved road, into and through a main town yes, otherwise it is dirt, rutted, washed out. National Geographic has several articals on the Pan Am. Carl
  3. Wish you luck between now and Sunday! Same for any one you know and left behind in Florida, they're going to need it. I saw that on world google! Carl
  4. Bill is correct. I posted about that in 2014, found out after I got all 8 Michelin...would have saved me 30% ! On $4,400+/- that's a big difference! I got mine in OR. no sales tax!
  5. Larry. I'm at TCC now, have been for 10 days...another issue. They installed a 3 door refrigerator in a 2005 Dynasty 42' last week! Carl
  6. Winnebago, unless they changed it since 07, puts it in the back closet. My 400/Allison 3000 was good for 10K and had the hitch for it. Carl
  7. We had a Post on this same problem around 18 months ago, in this section...I just tried but could not find it. I think it had to do with soot build up...
  8. David. If it's driver side, then check for a lose connection or fitting on your HWH, Passenger side is electric...low batteries, ground wire, obstruction. When was your system last serviced? If you need help, then call Texas Custom Coach in Pipe Creek...it's 31 miles from Kerrville, down Hwy 173 to Bandera, then 9 miles down Hwy. 16 on right side...I'm here! They are werry good and not expensive! What are you doing in Kerrville? Carl
  9. Ron. It may be under the step! Don't ask why Carl
  10. fagnaml. The only time I have your problem is on Hwy. 35, going from I-10 to south of Kaplan, La. and I-10 between Lafayette, La. and the Henderson Bayou! For those trips, 4 times a year, I use adjustable "double" curtain rods inside my cabinets. I get mine at Wall Mart. Luck Carl
  11. Hi, Stephen. Hope that Big Mike was able to help, along with the other posts! God Bless you Carl
  12. Skip. The board now and in the future, can not do any changes unless it has approval from the National Directors, the ND's do what the members of each chapter wants and it only can be presented at the Summer FMCA Reunion. ND's are the stop gap. We also approve the budget, any amendments, hiring of consultants, etc. But the proposed article #7, has got to be presented and voted on by the FMCA membership, not by a representative of the, or a group of the, membership! We have a lot of lawyers as members and quite a few as ND's...we voted on this proposal in Mass. it past. Now it's up to the membership to determine, what happens next. I'm not a lawyer. Just a retired person for the past 31 years! Personally my feelings is that your trying to read to much into this...we are a club with 72,000+/- members that enjoy traveling in a Motor Home and we are Family oriented. " It's all about having fun"! Carl
  13. Problem is that I have not found a place to buy it and I'm not doing bulk! Carl
  14. Update: Rich, your correct. My (I think he said TCM), is located in the same bay as both 2,800 Magnum's along with all the stab in fuses and that bay is not weather proof. From there, all the cables go to under my bed. Since the welder had to disconnect all power in coach by removing the battery cables, the head Tech spread some kind off goop on the bus bar and connectors in bay, I went food shopping. When I came back, the power was back on coach and no more blinking touch pads! Tech told me that he did not try to trace everything out, another $1K or more in labor, this temporary fix should last a while! Here, they put all off that in the closet inside coach! He read your answer and link. Thank you for a very informative post ! Carl
  15. WOW! They won't be found any time soon...Last Tuesday, probably outside the US by now! Missing any salesmen? Carl
  16. roswald. Welcome to the Forum! Weight in your coach could be an issue. What is your engine and chassis? Carl
  17. FIVE. Steering tags have been around for a long, long time...just like lifting tags. I'm guessing 20+ years!
  18. FIVE. Not lately, I have had all I want from AC...I needed a bay door for my coach, was told they would ship the one I needed in 3 days, told them where to ship it, Oh, your not at AC in Texas? No. "I just remembered it's on back order, be approximately 40 business days"...My door is currently in San Antonio being duplicated, be back on coach Tuesday! I'm not brand oriented... I will not re new my ACC, and I will not buy another AC. I don't have the time left to play games...Back order, engine battery compartment bay door on a 2010, 45 foot Tradition? BS! Carl
  19. pj, there are a lot of people who work in your field, all over the US, some have coaches and tow, others tow a fithwheel or trailer. Matter of taste! Your good to go, as for hook up and off, once you have done it a couple of times...5 minutes! Since I travel alone, takes me about 2 min to unhook and 5 to hook up! Enjoy your freedom.. Carl
  20. Blake. Got your coach sitting 25' feet away from mine...nice ride, no wonder trucks don't move you! Got a 42' Dynasty right behind you, also 2005. In front of me is a 1989 Eagle Custom Coach, belongs to owner of TCC, took me inside..WOW! All Electric, re done last year. Got a 2006 Prevost by Liberty, behind me...Lady from Fredericksburg, TX. owns and drives it. She does Peaches...duh. Over in Cabinet shop, there are 9 different brands, from 1989 to 2006 all getting remodeling done, then custom paint jobs! Average cost $85K. That really got me thinking! Carl
  21. Battery voltage is 12.9 at batteries...inverter/converter is doing it's job (both of them). Rich, that is way beyond my feeble capabilities...I'll get the tech and look over his shoulder! I do want to learn... Joe, there is a Forum member here, he will send you a PM...give you something to wrap your brain around! Carl
  22. Herman. Someone at the OK. rally, put a hold on it. It's still under Pending...the other thing is that it has 8,300+ hours on the generator and it needs a complete over haul at 10,000 hours max. I have been thru every coach there, and I have a height problem, I don't feel like stooping over to move around...remember, I'm close to 6' 8"! There is only one there, that I may look at again...I'm in no rush.
  23. Mike. Can you handle a foot or more of rain in a 24 to 30 hour period? With out flooding yourself? Carl
  24. OK. I have blinking touch pads again! My batteries are good, set to AGM, currently on 50A shore. Yes, the Tech is next door, but I need to know what to do when I'm the only tech around...this has been an on/off problem since I bought the coach in 2013. The AC Factory Techs looked at it in pre-rally to Redmond, OR, 2014 and could not find anything! Any one have a thought? Carl
