CR would probably rate mine a 5! But if mine was modified in the same manner and had the name Land Cruiser attached, it would rate excellent! CR has always come across as snobbish! Don't remember the year that they rated the Mercedes Benz 4 X 4 as the best all around 4 wheeler on the market and it listed for $110K.....I have never seen one in the desert or woods! Carl

It's a needful thing! I rather do laundry in house on a rain day, than go back and forth to camp laundry! Ugh! Big loads to town and pick up after golf...I let them do it, cost about the same, especially if you consider the inconvenience of sitting and waiting! Carl

Tom, High end coaches, still have the window awnings (built in, like the old Signature model), you only see them when they are out! Same with roof mount. I will agree with coolness in sun. Another pro/con thing! Carl

Bill. I've never seen one that blocks the gen slide out...all are attached to the slide itself! Can you post a picture? I would remove the whole shield and get at generator first, then either have the shield cut to size or install Diamond Shield, in any event your going to have holes to contend with! It's either Plexiglas or Lexan! Carl

RodgerS. Glad you had a good "Get away" and found it enjoyable! Class B, would make for a nice toad. My best friend has had a 5th now for 10 years, because he tends to stay in one place for 3 or more weeks and has been looking for a new rig! Took a year for him to make up his mind as to get a 40' to 45' DP or another 5th! He told me yesterday that he and the DW has decided to go with another 5th, custom built by Royal, 47'! He will end up spending as much for trailer and hauler as I would on a new 45' DP. His reason is quite simple...we all change as we get older, he no longer is interested in all the toys, both like to stay in one place for the Summer! They have rented a garage in Cortez, Co. for her car and his Jeep! Every body has their own reason and need. I still like to travel and I'll stay a week or a month, I'm not hung up on seeing the same people each year, at the same place, doing the same thing! Carl

Joe. Both ways will work, I like Herman's best. I have a Webber along with the green canisters of gas. I did the same thing your doing and love the extra space, it's right behind my connection for air hose, so I use it to store the hose and a separate bin for my cable connectors and extra cable! As Herman said, empty tank, happy Joe...we don't want you to learn to fly by gas! Carl

I had a combo once and it would not keep up with me...shorts, golf shirt underwear and socks, OK. Long pants, towels, bedding, Not OK! I have stackable now and love it. Wash up to 13 pounds, dry to 23 pounds. The only thing I take out to wash is a load of towels, blanket and jeans! I run a load about every 10 days. If I was full time in coach, probably once a week avg. It uses 3/4 Tspoon of soap per wash. Carl

I can't respond to that on Forum! LOL 3 weeks to Perry! I see the pros and cons to the topper. One big con is that you forget to clean under it...out of sight, out of mind! Also in a storm situation it can tear just like any awning! It will keep a lot of debris out, but if it was not there, I would probably spray it more often and wax the slide top! Carl

I learn a lot, just by reading about your trucking experiences. Thanks for that! I still can't wrap my mind around running a 600+ in a cookie cutter DP. The newer AC Tradition (mine) has a 500 standard and 600 option, at 51K pounds, that is ridiculous. I can understand a 600 in a Newell or Liberty coach as they are around 25K heavier than me...however, I wonder how much of that extra weight is because of beefed up chassis and big engine? Carl

The problem was found after about 20 minutes. The connection point of the ground wire was good, but the wire was cut in half. Connected up a new wire and tied it to the rest of the wire bundle...I also had him mark it and draw me a crude elect. diagram! All my fuses are in an outside compartment where the elect. switch for generator slide out is...I had a plastic box made, with a door to keep fuses completely dry right after I bought this coach! It was $145 per hr. for RV and $132 for trucks! Carl

You can get all the info on FMCA Roadside Assistance program by clicking on FMCA Main Site, Benefits! After reading everything, I came to the conclusion that it's best suited for Class A Gas (up to 34'), B and C (gas). Not a DP, unless it's a 32'! Way to many disclaimers and restrictions for $109 per yr.! I will stay with CN. GS was fantastic when they had one price fits all,,, But back then a 36' was a monster RV! Carl
