Braking System Using Trailer Brake Controller
manholt replied to RobertSchacht's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Robert. On this page, next topic down from you, it gets explicit from several others...If you have not done so, please read it. Your controller is for a electric system, what you need is an independent system that you can't fiddle with inside the DP. Carl -
Ron, Joe. The word of the day is KISS = Keep it Simple Stupid ! I LOVE it...

$32 Mistake Putting Seals In Sealand Toilet
manholt replied to lylefikse's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
Everyone does their waste differently and run down the road differently! When my gray tank is 3/4 full, my black is about 1/2, so I pull the blade on BW first and then pull gray, that cleansed the hose, then close gray. Both closed until needed again. Bay door locked....I hate it when my 3" runs away! Water hose is always on. Running down the road, I'm switched over to fresh water tank and I just turn pump on/off as needed. If I eat in coach during day, I use my finest Corel china and utensils, before hitting road again, I place about 2" of hot, soapy (Dawn) water in sink with plate and silver ware, place cover over sink and let the coach wash ! I'm not concerned about what goes bump in the day. Just at night! Camping should be as simple as possible ! I'm now going to pour some wine and have a pleasant HH in Perry RV Park! Carl -
Supplemental Braking - What's Best for My Situation?
manholt replied to matthew6279's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Herman. Your referring to a snorkel kit and it was designed for a carburetor engine....some kids put them on for show! My computer equipment is under dash, most cars have them under front seat...it gets wet, your out major money and I have no wish to have water to top of engine! I'm taking Jeep to Jiffy Lube tomorrow for new fluid in both differentials...during the Storm & Flood in Gladewater last week I had water up to floor boards on 3 occasions. Preventive maintenance. Joe. Yes, break away you got to have ! Carl- 34 replies

I do not lube coach hitch or secondary hitch for receiver (4" higher), I spray in WD-40 ! Remember, it was invented to keep the exterior of a Light House Tower Dry & Prevent Rust. Took 40 tries to get mixture correct and the rest is history! Also use it for step ! Before any ??? comments, yes, for Industrial use, you can buy it in bulk ! Otherwise it would take a lot of cans to do a light house... Carl

Braking System Using Trailer Brake Controller
manholt replied to RobertSchacht's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Robert. Welcome to the Forum! You mention that you have a coach, is it gas or diesel? Also, what type of toad do you have? In regards to controller, is that for utility trailer or a pull behind RV trailer? If you post in same style as Kay and I have under our name, please. Carl -
Heritage does not surprise me! Oh, well, time to think of another brand down the road ! Tired of the BS....end of a era! I will check it out here at Perry the 17th. Carl

Probably did. Go to Chevy parts in any Dealership. Or as Blake said. Bring engine # . Call your coach manufacturer Tech. Department!

Joe. Extra space. In/out dog house when parked ! Just don't PO the DW or you'll be kicking the dog out ! I saw one with a ramp, doggie bed and 2 off those fluffy, small, white dogs (cant remember name)! Carl

Old fuel will gum things up, pinched fuel line, filter, cracked line and pump...sort of in that order. Oil level. When was it last serviced and exercised (run at full load) ? Carl

Herman/Bill. We even have a Interstate on the Island. Also, sorry you won't be here Bill ! Since my starter batteries are difficult to get at, I use the maintenance free. Got to remove the hydraulic struts to remove door to get slide with batteries to come out ! Engineers & Designers...bah! Carl

If I was full timing, I might be tempted to take the approx. 2 grand for my coach plunge. Yours would be about 800 less. So, then there is the all important peace of mind for 10 years. Automatic air fill or loss....one thing less to remember to do! Interesting thought Brett. 72 miles to Perry. Carl

Does it pass the sniff test?

RogerS. I do believe that your point is that your happiest at home! Some folks are and some not so much! I also, believe that your happiest in a car/hotel and flying off somewhere when traveling. Noting wrong with that either, a lot of us other people fly or cruise or both to different lands! That seems to be the only thing you and I, can't speak for others, have in common! Enough said. Carl
