  1. It will come faster than you think, since you also got to get a 06' ready for Summer! Now if your DW has her way, you could get busy on an older Prevost, no slides!
  2. In March of 2014 mine got stuck, as yours, in the in position. Made my dog real unhappy! Make a long story short, Rich came up with the answer. First grease every joint on step, then take (I used a rubber head) a hammer and start hitting motor & armature of motor, there is a reset in there and after hitting for about 10 minutes, I gave up and shut the door, then opened the door, step came out and has worked ever since. I now lube it every month and wait until step is fully extended before stepping on it. The whole step by step, is under electrical, this Forum 3/14 by manholt. Carl
  3. Joe. I did not know that you where "pudgy".... Carl
  4. The packets are being sent out now for those who have registered...got mine last Friday! Carl
  5. FIVE. I don't much care for 50/50 odds either ! Especially on anything over $ 100.00 Carl
  6. Are the 2 switches even hooked up to anything? Can you remove them and see if they are wired? If they are, trace them out. I suspect a lose ground. I also think the check engine, would be a link to engine analysis. The other one is like Herman said. Carl
  7. Joe. Out of curiosity, do you keep your coach in a enclosed garage during winter? Or are you part Inuit? Carl
  8. Last time there, I stayed 3 nights in Oasis RV Park, about 5 miles west of the loop. Nice place and it was easy for me to go where I needed and quiet! Overnight is also a nice place...my dog liked the grass! Little awkward in a long coach to get in to! Carl
  9. Herman. You need to tell Jeff your not peddling wine! Carl
  10. Roland. Safe-T-plus was what I used, Last one was on a 07' Tour and I highly recommend it! Had it on an 1981 & 83' Apollo, 87' Barth, 97' Allegro, 06' Southwind and the Tour. As long as your alignment and camber is good, it will do wonders eliminating drift and buffeting by passing trucks and high side winds. I also felt less fatigue and more relaxed at the end of the day! Carl
  11. I just got home yesterday, spent a week at Sunrise Point RV Park, Marble Falls. Great place! My suggestion is take the I-10 West exit out of S.A. to Comfort, then go to Frederiksberg and pick up 287N, good roads all the way and fuel stops! I have been to Granite and it's a nice little town, had less than 2000 real friendly folks! Carl
  12. Sorry Frank, but you just made even less sense! "So, no appointments". Then you wrote, "plus you can and should make an appointment"! What is it? Been to Red Bay many times, overflow is generator only...4 days of that is real fun. A town that rolls up the sidewalk at 8pm and 1 reasonably good restaurant! Just the place for a vacation....all my work was on warranty, or recall. In a 30 month period, I have documented 17, 318 miles to Red Bay! Yes, Bob was aware of it! I got rid of the Allegro Bus at 36,000 +/- miles...Lazydays was so proved of my Bus, they took it to Auction after they gave me top dollar and I got the one I have now! A 2011 coach sold at Auction, as is, in Nov. 2013. Sorry for being a little testy. For some reason, that I don't understand, it seems that the Phaeton has far fewer major problems than the other Tiffin models, both gas and DP's! Carl
  13. Thank you all ! Now more work on a rain out day! Carl
  14. Joe, also Google Suncoast Designers in Hudson, FL. They replace or de fog all RV windows on coach. Could not think of them earlier. They also attend FMCA conventions. Carl
  15. OK, that makes good sense...what about the "little mushroom head caps"?? They are driving me nuts more than I already am! Carl
  16. I did notice that the fire guy's suppressant was about 25% more than the other link...they are both the same system! I'll check it out in Perry! Carl
  17. The choice would be, house or Prevost? Not both! You can get a nice Prevost for under $250K but I would think the overall cost of operation would far exceed my humble coach...don't think they get 6.5 to 7.5 mpg! I would hate to buy 8 off those tires... Carl
  18. Joe, send a PM to Herman, he has the name, that I forgot, of a company who takes care of the fog problem without having to buy a new window! Carl
  19. I have a lot off inset screw holes with little mushroom plugs that keep falling out. What I need is something to put on screws to prevent them from getting loose so that I can put a dab of Elmer's glue on each plug! Also screws for valance boxes to prevent rattle. Shake, rattle and roll! Carl
  20. As Brett mentioned, I had them in my boats, both for my peace of mind and to meet APBA (American Power Boat Assoc.)! My question is, have anyone measured how hot it gets in the engine compartment of a DP under normal operating conditions? Also, in a heat wave with the added reflection of heat from road surface? What I'm concerned about, is the relative low set point (280+F) by the manufacturer...will it go off with no fire? Carl
  21. Where in Florida is Top Sail and are they big rig park?
  22. Welcome. I would take it up with your CPA or if you don't have one, call FMCA or Escapees. There are so many variables.... Carl
  23. David, I'm not an electrician, but I would run the generator. House from 40's or 50's probably don't have copper wiring (unless your parents had it re wired) so to be on the safe side, run your power at night. Every other coach is heading south, Snow Birds! Your heading North...OK. Have a safe trip and be aware off Blake Ice! When you know it's going to be cold or stormy weather, don't run your fuel tank below 1/2 full and you might want to add some anti-gel to fuel. Carl
  24. Bill. Smoky Bear Campground, when I Goggled it brought back a flood of memories from 07' and 09'! Your right about coming in from the East...great place to stay and take Toad or bike to explore....I could spend a month and not see everything worth seeing! They do have some crazy, but beautiful roads in the area...hwy. 32 and 28 are near and dear! Saw a 18 wheeler stuck on a corner of Hwy. 28, surprised he got as far as he did...lol. I'll be there in July on my way to W. Springfield and may even stop by again on my way to NC. Thanks for the memories! Carl
