  1. I have twice written a comment in regards to "Blue Beacon" Blog. Both times a pop up says "I need moderator approval before my comment will be posted"! Is judgebobk some kind of VIP that I have never heard about? Carl
  2. lamsan, I'm glad your a fan of Tiffin and that you have what you want! That was the question! What is your floor plan? Carl
  3. One thing about Texas, like Montana and Alaska, we still have wide open spaces and it's a lot warmer than the other 2! You could even bring your business down here and make a very nice living! Cost off living is about half off yours and income about the same! What's not to like? Carl
  4. FIVE, You'll get no argument from me on that...I will put in the same, when it's time! The original owner, replaced all off the batteries and new cables, just prior to trade in! He got an Eagle....the only batteries I replaced with AGM was chassis & they are difficult to get too! The slide out tray works fine, after you take the hydraulic struts off the door!!! I figure I have 2 more years...hopefully! Carl
  5. Like Tom, I have seating for 6 and no one feels cramped. My kitchen is L shaped (I love to cook, cause I love to eat) and it serves my purpose very well. Rear bedroom, with more closet and drawer space than I can use(full timers dream) and I use my coach about 18 weeks a year. I have a large street side bath with double sink, double medicine cabinet, lots of storage and a 42" x 36" shower! My aisle is curb side, rather than down the middle, it's a great floor plan! Sometimes I'll cook for a crowed outside and the 32" TV comes in handy. Since I travel alone, I have much more space than I really need, but I'm not complaining. I, like Tom haven't all the modern electronics, but what I have keeps me busy! It's an all electric coach, with residential fridge, dishwasher and stackable washer & dryer....if I ever want to full time it, then this coach is the perfect vehicle! All the floor plans that I have seen in the past 4 years, all look the same. Whether it be a cookie cutter or a million dollar custom Prevost ! The coach I have now is my 10th in 48 years of class A's! If I ever buy another, it will be a pre 2006! Carl
  6. OK, my Allison is only 3000, have just one bath so 1 macerator toilet. Don't have insta hot water, 8 reg batteries and 2 AGM for engine! Can't see the extra $200,000! Per the spec sheet, you have a bigger engine and HD Allison! You and I both have LED lights. I presume you have a dishwasher. Now that I'm thinking about it...if you have not already done so, find your 2 (one for each toilet) in line 20 amp fuse and make sure they are 20 amp! Mine was a 15 (marine use) RV is 20. I found mine under the drawer beneath the dishwasher...AC help line had it behind the back panel off toilet! So now I have a 6"x6" hole covered by a picture of a dog on the throne! Carl
  7. FIVE, wait until you need to change them out $2,400 at Lazydays & that is cheap! Have a friend in SWG INTO, has a 14' used Eagle and had to change out his last year, don't remember why, but it had something to do with a trip to Alaska! He decided to do it himself: Batteries $1,200, having them installed (he forgot to note where each cable went) $800, saved $200. But the Chiropractor for his back was 6 weeks, 3X per week at $40 per visit $720 and 2 months off no golf !!! They live behind the 7th green at Lake Windermere, FL. He now lets the Pro's do everything...with the DW's blessing! Carl
  8. Rich, last I heard, NYC is upgraded to 2 feet+, good thing it's Saturday! Can't imagine the traffic snarl on a weekday! Another reason to live in the South!!! Carl
  9. Bill. You are so right about stress on U Joint and I would guess that 98% of DP owners don't even think about them being an integral part of the coach! About 3 years ago at a SKP rally, we had a new member with his first coach, a DP 04' Dynasty and he made the comment that "he did not have a U Joint", Huh! Sad! Carl
  10. Gunny, Thank you for your Service ! Carl
  11. Bill, thank you for the links! Very informative and I learned a lot! Now my list has grown by leaps! Carl
  12. I use Lucas Slick Mist on my whole coach (not roof) and it helps the bugs to slide off the bra...mine is 6 years old now and still looks good! I pressure wash the coach every 6 months and know people who uses Lucas daily and haven't had to wash for 2 and 3 years! When it becomes necessary to remove the bra, I'll let a pro do it (I know my limitations). Carl
  13. Bill. Don't know what your driving, but it will be a hot day in h....before I roll 315 and 295/80's around ! Since I'm tall, 6' 8", the first thing that goes out is my back! I leave anything over 100# and crawling around the roof, underside of coach to professionals! Yes Bill, Herman and I are both older than you! I do most of the inside myself, batteries (I can sit on a stool), some engine and generator work, electrical and plumbing! I do agree that if it had not been for the Forum I would have done much less! There is no such thing as a "Dumb" or "Stupid" question! Everything in life is a learning curve... Carl
  14. I'm very surprised! I have used them since 2006 and never had any problems, $64 for coach and toad, wash & wax. Last done at exit 583 on I-10 in San Antonio, TX. 4 days ago! Well, no place is perfect and I'm sorry about your problem, but I will continue to use Blue Beacon twice a year! Carl
  15. What kind of coach do you have? DP or gas? Wall Mart has AGM's for a good price. If you don't mind looking at your batteries and adding water as needed, then non AGM will work fine. I carry 8 off them and have had no problems in 3 years. Also, they are a lot less expensive! Carl
  16. Guess you'll have a trip to AC Alvarado in your future. Ancira is not known for their service anymore! The Daughter runs it now and I won't say what's on my mind Carl
  17. Never seen a blue haired anything in a MH yet! Carl
  18. Herman, I know, I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed ! I need my door awning replaced, no motor, lost it in Mexico 3/14'! Girard awning is very expensive, I'm hoping for an alternative... Carl
  19. Herman, my tires are set up the same as FIVE. Why? Good Question, we have a new 17' Newell here and it has 385 front, 315 drive and 385 tag! He has no clue either! Does that mean that FIVE and I should have 315 on tag also? Tire Man might know! Newell is 63,000#. Carl
  20. OK. Sounds like Fiat and Jeep issue...LOL. In the meantime I'll continue to tap on profile and send a reply! Thanks, Carl
  21. For some reason I just noticed the 5th wheel part. Yea, a lot of HOA's associate (wrongly) trailers with trash. I have an Attorney that has a custom made $1,800,000 trailer and he is considered by many in the same way! I'm retired (International Drilling Consultant) and when folks hear that, then I'm Oilfield Trash...works for me! Lot's of non RV folks have pre conceived ideas. All it takes is one old trashed out trailer or MH to spoil the well ! Be proud of what you have! HOA's have a bunch of folks, with lots off time on their hands and no life! Carl
  22. A little confused! Did you have 2 Jeeps and a Raider in a trailer? If that's the case, I can understand your choice, but why not take one Jeep flat towed and the BMW? Carl
  23. Why can't I use it on my iPhone 6? Carl
  24. If you have kids, I guess $95 per night is OK for a pull thru! Cheaper than a Hotel. I'm trying to sneak up on W. Springfield because I want to avoid the traffic between DC and Connecticut! Last time I came up, was in 89' and it was horrible traffic...don't think it's gotten any better! It will be after July 22nd. I'll still be at a friends farm, against the Blue Ridge Mts, outside Ashville, NC. Carl
