  1. Some coaches have the dust boot. 07' Winnebago DP and 11' Allegro Bus DP had it and it can get scary when you push on it rather than the brake! My current coach does not have it. Call Fleetwood and ask if it would hurt to cut it off! I think it's main purpose is ascetic. Carl
  2. A long time ago, a friend told me about a black tank system that had an electric grid that would render toilet paper to ash and dry out solids before it was released to the tank and a macerator. He said the switch had a red light that would turn green, when the deed was done! This is the first time I have thought off that since.... Carl
  3. Hermann, I thought the same thing, but I did not want to sound condescending! Carl

    85 Octane?

neoflyer, Welcome to the Forum. When in doubt, re read Brett. Luck!
  5. I use any truck stop that has 18 wheelers filling or parked. Old fuel is something off the past, when it was shipped in barges, hence the term "barge gas"! It was the fuel that was left in the bottom of the barge and sold to stations in the boondocks! I would be more concerned about the accumulation of water. I'm going to fill my tank when I leave here next week and then again at 300 miles, hope I get it all changed ASAP. I generally fill up at 500-600 miles, but this time, I guess I was thinking about something else and let it go until the generator stopped. 912 miles! Carl.
  6. It was a sad day, when they stopped making the RV Bird!
  7. OK. jlemont gave me the answer. I just didn't catch it until I spoke with a friend who is in the same park as I. Apparently the first owner off coach had the same problem, unscrewed the chrome cap, then managed to cross tread it after adjustment. Next time he/she tried to unscrew cap, the force used left a slight Z on cap. I had it drilled out, used the allen wrench and adjusted mirror. Next time I'm home, I'll retread for a slightly larger screw and see if that will prevent it from becoming loose. This has been the first time that I have had a problem with Velvac mirrors! Thank you all for your input! Love this Forum and the people who respond! Carl
  8. Welcome to the Forum. In May off 2008, I was at Nord Cap (North Cape) Norway, That is 71 degrees, 10' North! Saw a Country Coach "Prevost" with Alabama plates, parked there!!! How he got there is way beyond my imagination! I have done most of Norway by jeep several times between 1970 and present and it's been a lot off fun, but a 45 footer? I would not even attempt it, as most campgrounds are set for 32' max TT's, 30 amp, water and dump station! Not to mention going thru all the little towns... As for West and East Europe, price of fuel alone is prohibitive. They pay per liter, what we pay per gallon! Carl
  9. When your in a campground, take your toad and go see the Butcher, Baker, Fish monger and local Farmers market! If you ask a local person, you will find what you want in any country! Fresh food, beats box store food anytime. Chill Carl
  10. Hi John. I have had the invisbreak on my last 3 toads and love it. I do a lot of 4 wheeling in all kinds of weather and conditions. I had a friend put mine in a Plexiglas box and it's mounted in rear off my Jeep Wrangler ( he did the same with the computer system) water and dust proof! The unit has an adjustment knob on it and it takes a couple of tries, before you get the right setting for your coach, after that you don't change it unless you get a heavier or lighter toad or coach. I had mine installed by a pro, so can't help you there. I have a steel bumper on my Jeep and use the "D" ring holes for my tow bar. That way, I don't need to have a base plate installed...check out towing on this Forum and you'll learn a lot about it. There are some really good innovating ideas out there! Good luck. Carl
  11. Not a full timer, but being from Texas and it gets real hot, I normally spend summer in Dolores, Colorado and Ruidoso, New Mexico. As I write this it is 98 in Abilene, TX. and 72 in Ruidoso, where I will be tomorrow! I'll be in Dolores Aug. 7th. with a dozen friends from TX. and AZ. Most of them are FT's. Good Luck & keep the rubber side down! Carl
  12. LOL. That's a really good idea! I'm going to remember that one....
  13. I had to fill up at Love's today, only fuel stop in area, took 127 gallons of B15. Hope it will not affect my seals! Don't know if they fixed that problem with Bio. Normally I stay away from Love, Pilot and TA, due to high Bio mix. Carl
  14. Thanks, it's a little different after 15 years. Surprised she lasted that long. We are probably both out of luck until after FMCA, Madison, WI.! I'm on the road now, so I'll call them Wed. Gotten used to adjusting mirror every time I stop! Before you replace....check the price. Mine are high dollar!!!
  15. Seems I'm the only one, with a floppy inverted Velvac.
  16. Like Hermann, I have the 360, started using them in 02'. Chemicals are expensive and heavy. Also, they don't solve the problem...hate the smell! Wish they would come with the coach...that's another pipe dream!
  17. A relay is in order....I'll have it taken care off ASAP! Thank you all for your input, it's much appreciated! Carl
  18. A lot of small towns have a water station, usually around by the fire station. Definite word is "small", less than 1,000.
  19. LOL! I do know about a 2amp, use it on my motor cycle. Never have I had to use one on an RV, DP or gas! Why now? None of my SKP friends, that I camp with for 3 months a year do it....confused.
  20. Open M-F. So, no I have not...been kind of busy. Got back to USA last Sunday from 4 months in Europa. Mine are like yours...how do you tighten them?
  21. Thanks Brett, that I can do. How do I find the cause off the drain on start batteries? Whether I'm in a RV park or the coach is in the garage on power, there should not be such a big drain!? Carl
  22. I have not had a new one yet, that had less issues than a used one! Got rid off an '11 that I got new and in '13 bought the one I have now! Did the same as ribarklii.
  23. Thank you Herman! Her name was "Lucky" and I adopted her at the dog pond 6/17/2000, the vet estimated that she was born in March. I had her for her whole life and just a part of mine! In her life, she visited more states, countries and logged more air miles than most people I know. RIP 3/11/2000 - 7/24/2015 Enough said...any thoughts about my mirror problem? Carl
  24. Thank you for writhing what I have been feeling! I had to put my "Lucky girl" down yesterday...she was my travel companion for 15 years 2 months, got her in a shelter and she was a Bijenji, Border collie mix. It's a large void in the coach now, just me! I also, hope another will come along in time.... Carl
  25. John, welcome to the forum. Don't know what kind off rig your driving. Gas, DP, Class A,C. or B, length or weight. Glad everything worked out for you and hope you had no major damage! I think anyone who has had Motorhomes in the past and current has had their fair share off blow outs and it's never been a pleasant experience! That said, it's always on my mind when driving and it's the reason to check for proper air pressure daily, before hitting the road! Also, make sure your weight is proper (what you carry) for the rig and tires. How old are your tires? Over 6 years, start looking to get new tires all around. As for Tyron, I just don't trust them! When mine came apart, on the freeway in Houston, I thought I had a blow out!!! When I could visually check, every tire was fine until I started driving, the noise was unreal and I started thinking on what else it could be....25 miles to Cummins Coach Care in Houston, took over 2 hours because I could not use I-10, any speed over 15-20 mph and the whole coach was shaking and waddling like a goose! My dog went nuts.... Tyron also is very heavy for rims that carry 22.5 tires! Carl
