I forgot about that. I swear they are programmed to route you that way. Try and avoid that bridge with a GPS. You could be right at the Tappen Zee toll and it will turn you around and route you 20 miles out of your way just to cross the GW.

NO GPS will be 100% accurate. If that’s all one follows I guarantee you will be stuck somewhere on a road you shouldn’t be on. I learned a valuable saying, it applies. Don’t follow the masses, sometimes the M is silent. I use google maps, I map out my trip use street view when something doesn’t look right. DW navigates. In 2021 I’m demoting her to “pretty seat cover” . She’s good with nautical maps...we’ll leave it at that

I would call Tiffin and see if they have that programmed that way for a reason. There are many options turned off, I guess to keep it simple for some operators, they deactivate most things that folks like me find useful.

The 241c has an internal oil pump. I cannot locate the power flow diagram to see if when it’s in neutral is the pump active.

It can cause the engine to require more frequent parked regens when not serviced on a regular basis. It does have a bypass valve on it but I have seen those clog and wreak havoc on the engine and cause oil leaks due to excessive crankcase pressure.

Southern route is more flat. I did this very trip in July 2008 with our last Motorhome. PA to CA and back. The Mojave Desert was HOT, but it was July. The Motorhome kept us comfortable and we stayed in Williams AZ for a few days on the return which was nice, gave us a break from the heat. It’s located under a portion of the valve cover. On a pusher it’s on the end closest to the transmission. The cover should separate on models equipped so you do not have to remove the entire valve cover. Very common filter to have been forgotten about.

Easy target

We spent the beginning of December 2013 in San Antonio TX due to an ICE storm that shut everything just north of us down. I made it down I-10 from Van Horn in an ice storm in our old motorhome. We were supposed to be on I-40, had to detour to I-10 while in CA to avoid the storms.

This is the first time I will say I am glad to be in PA and not TX! I have been reading about all of the power outages. What surprised me is how few people have back up generators. Storms are not uncommon for TX, are power outages uncommon with hurricanes in the southern part of the state? Back up generators are pretty common up in this part of the US. We have the entire house on one and we have gas logs in fire place that do not require power to operate...just in case... Gas fire place in TX, I get that, no back up power, I struggle with.
