  1. It should not effect the abs because it recalibrates itself when the ignition is turned on and it starts to roll. This takes care of tire wear and other factors, etc. If you are looking at a truck tire such as Toyo expect a firmer ride because of the more rigid sidewall. Because of the different diameter you will need to have the computer reset because the revs per mile will be higher, for the speedometer and the odometer to read correct. If saving that much money is more important than the disadvantages go for it. I did about 9 years ago but went back to the Michelins because of the ride and mileage factor.
  2. I can't explain it but that's the results. The inverters run everything else. I may try to run my home refrigerator to see if it works.
  3. I would think you need to shield the sun with some kind of roof. Maybe a simple framework with fabric.
  4. I tested it with a Xantrex Prosine 2000, Xantrex RS2000. both pure sine wave and a cheapy 750 watt just for kicks. I don't know it the model I tested was defective or the compressor was not compatible with inverter use.
  5. After some investigation I have found out that the test that was written up was done in 2004 using the old cotton media. This media performed well if properly oiled. In 2006 Mr Spicer was invited to K&N test labs, and he went and witnessed the testing procedure that they use. They were using the synthetic media that does not require oil. The result were quite different than what Mr, Spicer had witnessed in the other test. The testing standard ISO 5011 Is just a test protocol for the test technician to use. There will be some differences in the conclusions. Since the main product that K&N manufactures is air filters I would think that they would build the finest product possible.
  6. What part of the country are you located?
  7. I tried to run a Frigidaire 10 cu ft on my pure sine wave inverter and it would not keep running. The compressor quit and became hot. Plugged it into the house and it ran fine. Glad I didn't install it first.
  8. Have you coach painted, use your credit card and then fly to Hawaii on your flier miles. Thats what I did this past fall, as a matter of fact I went twice. Was there for a couple of weeks over thankgiving and then came home. 2 days latter my sons car broke so I went back to fix it.
  9. I have a Kwikee 2 step that is prior to 1999. I just bought a controller for the newer steps and had to change the wire connectors and the door switch which needs to be a normally open not closed. Works perfect.
  10. The receiver doesn't know what dish it using only if the signal is there. You need to hook the coax between the dish and the receiver.
  11. If you can't put it in a garage I would build a shelter of at least a roof over it. The worst thing I think you can do it cover it with material. Its heavy and hard to manage, being a 3 or 4 person job with ladders etc. Also you need to provide ventilation or you will get mildew and mold plus the abrasion between the fabric and the coach. Mine is in a garage for storage and also I do a lot of work on it.
  12. With the inverter on you save on propane and also the Directv receivers stay live and don't have to boot up when you plug in.
  13. They do handle Michelin 22.5. I just bought mine at Costco Las Vegas. They just don't mount them. I bought professional tools to change the tires myself. Real easy, as a matter of fact I did one yesterday. I used to do them with crow bars but now its much easier.
  14. I bought a wrecked 98 Discovery for the engine, transmission, air suspension, radiator, charged air cooler, transcooler, front and rear axles, and the lp tanks. This was a Freightliner chassis. The 2 lp tank was from the factory. I sold the smaller vapor lp tank on the spot before I left the wrecking yard. It tool me 3 days to get it all apart and load my flatbed trailer. The tank that I mounted is in the center just ahead of the rear axle. It has a remote fill and electric shut off valve. Its about 32 gallon.
  15. I'm not sure if it was that particular model, made in China, or if it was a defective unit. I would start the cooling plugged in to the house and when the freezer was down to 30 I switched over to inverter. I used 2 pure sine wave inverters and 1 modified sine wave inverter. It would run for a short period of time and then the compressor would stop and get hot. Replug it into the house and it would continue to cool to below 0 in the freezer. I don't think its so much the brand as is the manufacturer, because I looked at another brand and it had the same compressor and the rest of it looked the same. Since it was special ordered I could not ask them to order another one just for me to test!
  16. As far as Michelin tire pricing I just bought mine at Costco. The price was very close although they had to order them, it took 2 days.
  17. Sorry to hear about your bad experience. The rally you went to sounds like a local small get together. You should try one of the international rallys. There are hundreds of new coaches and hundreds of vendors, evening entertainment, etc.
  18. If you have 3 cameras does the picture go bad on all of them? On mine I had a poor connection on the monitor 12 volt, fix that and everythings ok.
  19. It depends on how many batteries you are trying to charge. If its more than a couple you will need more than 150 watt system.
  20. Before you install a residential refrigerator try to run it on the inverter. I just tested a 10 cu ft Frigidaire and it would only run on an inverter for a short period of time and then the compressor would shut down. I tried it on a Xantrex Prosine 2000, Xantrex RS2000 and a cheapy 750 watt. I just glad I didn't install it before I found out it wouldn't work.
