Flexible Drain Hose From Kitchen Sink Needs Replacing
desertdeals69 replied to jhays03's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
I would think that you need to get a hose which looks corrogated with a wire around the circumference. -
I use Tire Minder both on the coach and the toad. Wouldn't travel without the system. You never know if a problem is in the making.

I check my tpms and I know what the pressure is after driving all day. Mine in the winter after a 300 mile drive raise about 8 lbs so if I have a tire that is say 3 lbs lower I can add 3 lbs from the motorhome air system and of course it is up to full pressure. I then check it in the morning when its cold to verify I have the correct pressure.

If you have on board air why would you want to carry and additional piece of equiptment?

Trying To Find A Dinghy For 4 Wheels Down Towing
desertdeals69 replied to Adonh's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
I would stick with a manual transmission because they seem to have a less problems. I tow a Silverado 6 cyl 5 speed for over 100,000 miles with no problems. -
After I changed mine in November I was at Bontraggers in Michigan the first week in December and found a complete Haldex dryer, never been installed, they wanted $200 and I offered $150 and they took it. It had been setting for some time because I saw it last summer but didn't know I needed it. I installed it complete and took my old one and removed the filter and all the other new parts and put it back in the box so now a have a complete kit for next time.
-
You need to change the filter and desiccant. I failed to do mine in a timely fashion and I had engine oil dripping out of the bottom of the dryer. I first thought something broke in the compressor but when I changed the filter everything was ok. I was told at a truck center that failure to change the filter would cause it to pump oil. My dryer is a Haldex and the filter kit was $132 at my local NAPA store.

On your 40 foot motorhome you have an air system which runs through a dryer and is about 135 lbs which works for tires. I have been using my that way for 14 years. Has plenty of air for a 3/4 inch air wrench and will fill tires just fine.

Tire Question: Replace Michelin's with Bridgestones?
desertdeals69 replied to dhgraves's topic in Tires
That sounds like the accident north of Havasu last year. A tragic situation. -
The 2 different types of relays look different. The latching relay is taller because the of the swinging rod that holds the contact washer down. The application is different. Usually the latching relay is used as a disconnect for the battery, requiring no current other than to change position. The other type is used to connect the 2 battery banks together requires current to stay closed.

When you use a wrench its a lever action, when you use a socket its a rotating action, it makes a difference.

I'm sorry that they wouldn't talk to you, we are a dealer and were at an RV trade show and I didn't realize that they wouldn't talk to the public. It doesn't sound like to good of a policy.

If you can find the part number it can be verified. The outward appearance is hard to determine as they look identical. The description with the part number should get you the correct one.
-
You can verify the reading with a infrared temp gauge at the sender. Since it doesn't vary under different conditions its probably ok, but the gauge may be reading a little high.

You need to find live 12 volt power source when ignition is on and park brake is released. Is you DVD player a standalone unit?
-
Some hubs have a drain plug on the side so you don't have to pump out.
-
It may take two or three times to purge all the air out. Filling the filter before installing is not a good idea because of contamination according to the Cummins seminar.
-
There is a bleed valve on the side of the canister, turn the ignition switch on and off and then open the valve. The pump will run for about 30 seconds. Close the valve when it stops priming or when the air is gone.

Tire Question: Replace Michelin's with Bridgestones?
desertdeals69 replied to dhgraves's topic in Tires
Michelins will give you a smoother ride because of the sidewall. I made the mistake of trying Toyos and the ride was harsher and I have returned back to Michelins. -
Make sure that the solenoid/relay is a continuous duty one.
-
There is a hex around the outside of square hole that a socket fits. This prevents the cover from cracking.

DickandLois, on 21 Feb 2013 - 08:59, said: I was going on what the Spartan seminar presenter said. He tried it and it came to a gradual stop. There are springs that apply the park brake. He was driving a bare chassis on a test drive. If you are going slow it may lock up but a higher speed its not supposed to lock up.

Do you have an inverter/charger? If you do just run the furnace and if the batteries get to low the furnace will quit and then run the gen. If you have a inverter/charger just run to charge the batteries.
