Can there be too much truck?
-
To the original question, I've only been stopped once in the last 15 years; when the deputy sheriff got to my truck, I immediately informed him I had a pistol in the console. He thanked me for that and appeared to relax a bit as I handed him my DL and registration. That was in Montana. Wayne, the CCW is contained in the bar-code on my license, and it has a small star on the front. When we crossed into Canada, they scanned our license, the next question was "do you have any firearms in the vehicle?" When I replied, no ma'am, we left them home since we knew we were coming to Canada. She smiled a bit and waved us through.

You may rent one if you choose instead of purchasing. AutoZone rents tool for free, you leave your CC# on file with them, when you return the tool they destroy their copy of your information. Of course if the tool is not returned, you bought them a new one. I have done that several times instead of buying an expensive tool for a one time use.

That's the main reason we bought a MH, our new 2005 Grand Junction 5er didn't come with leveling jacks. I carried a small lumber yard in the dually. Our 2012 Alaska trip/caravan wore me out just carrying boards to/from. The folks in MH's were set-up and headed for happy hour before I finished leveling sometimes.

Directly avoiding the political side of mental hospitals, I completely agree.

Sanitizing Water And Holding Tank With Vinegar
rayin replied to tiffinphaeton's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
Licensing is subject to each state, as anything less than 1,000# @ 10% solution is unregulated by federal standards. Concentrations above 10% can be dangerous to store and handle, as it is a strong accelerant when heated. It is available in 1G jugs for $84 ea. https://www.laballey.com/products/buy-10-hydrogen-peroxide-1-gallon-84 Simple math results in the amount of correct mixture to be added to fill your fresh tank, WH, and plumbing system. When the fresh water system is only partially-filled, the tank is only partially-sanitized, as it works by direct contact. FWIW, I use Sodium Dichlor which is more dangerous to handle than HO OH, although much cheaper to buy. It does not leave the aftertaste or odor of household bleach. A $7 package has lasted me almost 10 years, with about 1/4 remaining in the plastic air/water-tight container. -
Keep in mind, each state has the final say, do not "hope for the best". This NRA guide contains a lot of information about NYS and NYC.

Fuel gelling usually happens when the tank is filled in hot/warm weather, then MH is stored for the winter. If the drive engine starts and runs fine, I doubt gelling is the problem. I suspect a corroded/loose wiring connection_somewhere in the starting circuitry; begin with the negative wiring, then move to the positive wiring. Over 80% of all 12V issues are the result of a poor/missing ground. Although the gauge says 1/2 tank, it could be incorrect. Normally the genset fuel pickup tube is set at 1/4 tank level so one cannot use all the fuel in the genset, then have no fuel to drive anywhere. Unrelated to the begin to crank problem; A partial tank will accumulate moisture from condensation and cause specific problems.

Sanitizing Water And Holding Tank With Vinegar

This website show how much sodium chloride is in softened water from a water softener regenerated with salt. https://www.frakco.com/TravelSoftSodium.html As to using I think you'll find this document about using HP/silver quite interesting: http://www.iwtc.info/1999_pdf/08-03.pdf For using straight 3%HP, the CDC states it is effective, however a lower % is ineffective.https://www.cdc.gov/infectioncontrol/guidelines/disinfection/disinfection-methods/chemical.html I would suspect filling a water tank and plumbing to be expensive. -

We spent a winter in Okeechobee Florida at the KOA once. I changed the sediment filter after 1 month, when it became half-full of sand. -

Herman and Kay said it all. Tires can fail if a puncture reaches the steel belts but does not penetrate the inner liner-which actually holds air pressure. Water may then follow the puncture wound into the steel belts, which rather quickly begin to corrode, then sometime later break during tire flex while rolling. This usually results in a sudden tire failure.

This also disables the 120VAC ice maker on a Norcold 1200LRIM.

Eliminate any guesswork, use this wire size calculator to determine what size/gauge extension cord to use. Also, It bears repeating-again. DO NOT PLUG INTO A 3-PRONG CLOTHES DRYER OUTLET! Exciting and expensive things happen very quickly.

Sadly I lost a $300+ Marinco 50A shore power cable that way. I was in a rush to meet someone, MH was plugged in inside our garage. To replace the cable and replace the Marinco connector was also expensive. I got it in both ends, so to speak.

I love it! The dogs eyes seem to dare anyone to come near. On a different topic, have you seen the news reporting a 62 yr old Marine set the Guinness world record for planking, over 8 hours.

Who, What, When, Where or Just Lets Talk

👍 US 2 is mostly 4-lane and lightly traveled IMO. If one goes online to state's visitors bureau to find things to see you can spend an entire summer within 100 miles of US 2 and be on the go every day. The most unusual thing is Havre underground. -
I did that when we bought our MH, however I did it for insurance purposes, in case of theft it makes tracing parts possible. I keep updating onto that list to include part numbers. Now I have data for our MH in MS cloud so it may be accessed from anywhere, as long as I'm alive remember my password.

Spartan and Freightliner Instrumentation common points

Thanks for the information! I'm sure owners will greatly benefit from those pdf's. Sadly my chassis is far too old to use the information, all gauges are analog. -

Only once, there is no road to the middle of Lake Michigan; the GPS routed me there anyway. We stopped and camped at Indiana Dunes State Park. Which is now part of Indiana Dunes National Park. -
I remember our first phone, # was 368, 8 houses on the party line. Our ring was 3 longs. Every time I answered the phone I heard a series of clicks. Now if I call DW I just press #2 for cell, #3 for home. 1970 Ford 5th wheel and truck.

Safety First when to travel rt 80 in the fall
rayin replied to mailman's question in Destinations/Attractions
Only you can make that call. It depends on your travel time, if you don't have extra days to layover until the interstate is cleared, flying might be best. I don't normally do PMs. -
You're right of course, but there is nothing available legally to beat the instant response and real-time notification of a road blockage ahead to everyone listening on the CB radio, due to the open availability. The young drivers seem to all wear a headset and use their cell-phone to communicate with friends. They are very easy to recognize when one lane is closed, they are the ones looking for someone to let them change lanes at the last moment. Those handheld radios linked above are not legal in the U.S.A. or CA. The range of frequencies can get into the military restricted bands for one example. I have a simple $50 CB that suffices for me, + earbuds so DW can listen to her radio.
