2007 Monaco Cummins ISC does not shut down when turning off ignition?
elkhartjim replied to rameller's topic in Electrical
My ISB did this twice and Freightliner was never able to find the problem because it never happened again. The two times it happened Freightliner had me pulling relays, fuses, etc and it would never shut down. I finally pulled the negative chassis battery cable to kill it. -
I understand, my wife is also like that.

Just a reminder, just because you increase your tire rating doesn't mean anything if your axle rating is near capacity. It is like a person that replaced their 5000# hitch with a10000# hitch thinking that would solve their issue of hauling a 9000# trailer. That didn't work out so well for them.👎🙄

I must have looked at one last August that made it off the assembly line with no inspections. Did you drive it? The rattles were so bad I only made it to the first turn before I could get back to the dealer. According to the salesman, the dash rattle you just learn to live with because they haven't been able to fix it on any previous units sold. He said it's a design problem that Fleetwood has not figured out how to repair. My wife commented how badly the fit and finish was so like said, this one was missed by the inspection department. I'm really surprised Fleetwood is using a 12400 front axle on a 41 foot unit.

Sorry to tell you but the build quality between a Phaeton and Discovery is huge.
-
Wow....huge difference in an American Coach and the Discovery. How did you decide to narrow it down to those two?

Really need to be aware of any overhang, rear or otherwise.

Shirler you need to Stop calling me Wayne.

Welcome to the forum. Flying J certainly sells gas but with a 34 footer you can buy gas at almost any station and most likely at a lower cost. I have a Flying J caharge card which offers a discount but I'm not familiar with the rewards program.

FMCA Assist VS Goodsam Travel Assist
elkhartjim replied to trfarmerjr's topic in Membership/Benefits
Ross, bless your heart, you're so confused. Good Sams Travel assist is not road service, it is similar to the FMCAssit. You know, the plan that will fly you home in a medical emergency. Good Sams Assist or FMCAssist will not come tow you motorhome if it's broken down. -
Personally I would not want to cover my motorhome with anything other than some sort of structure during the summer. Lots of things can happen and none of them good.

Roger that. Craigslist is a scam artists utopia.

Gotcha, I just never heard the term locked reply referring to a private message.
-
I don't know what a locked reply means, what would that help and what needs to be controlled?
-
I don't ever see it coming to fruition simply because of the logistics of implementing a pay for play program on the forum. Plus it would most likely not have a high rate of return for FMCA. I still think it would be a nice benefit. I think I got a bu$$ call from you today, Carl. I'm glad you're thinking of me.

It's been suggested there would be a charge for posting for sale or wanted needs, would you be willing to pay for this service? I for one would not be willing to pay. This board doesn't have enough visitors to justify paying for an ad but it could be a no expense benefit to members. Ive had really good success both buying and selling on iRV2 and the Escapees forums and neither charge for this service.

Time traveler, you realize you're responding to a 6 year old post.

Thanks for the reference but one post would be sufficient.

FMCA Assist VS Goodsam Travel Assist
elkhartjim replied to trfarmerjr's topic in Membership/Benefits
I'm not familiar with the Good Sam program but if they are the same and you're paying extra for the Good Sams then by all means cancel the GS since you're dues cover the program at FMCA. -
Are there any known easements, set back lines, etc? Will you be able to connect to public utilities, water, sewer? IMHO, if you plan to have concrete road(s) and pads, I think you're $250,000 is low. If using shell or asphalt you may be closer to your budget but then you have the maintenance requirements.

Now that's strange. I wonder why Entegra installed a propane tank in an an all electric coach to run the AH.? In my way of thinking, the benefit of an all electric coach is to get rid of the weight and physical size of the tank.

Remember, I'm Oasis and I didn't not know if that makes any difference.

It's very important to exercise your generator monthly. Start and run the generator under 50% load for an hour.
