  1. Thanks, Joe. Both Wayne and Five were told to cycle their AH every 4-6 weeks by their serving technician is why I'm asking this question. Now, you're saying it's not in your AH manual either. I agree with changing the filter annually but I'll have a heck of a time remembering to cycle the Oasis on a monthly basis. The engine heats the water when we're on the road so it's hot when we arrive at the cig. I turn the switch to active both heating elements and that's it. I've only turned the burner on once and that was to make sure it worked.
  2. Reading the Newmar owners posts on iRV2, many of them are on 2-3 year maintenance schedules with their Oasis and I've not read any mention of exercising the unit monthly. Like I said earlier, there is no mention of monthly exercising the Oasis in their operators manual. How do those who have their unit in storage for 4-6 months handle that issue?
  3. Has anyone had direct experience owning both an Oasis System and an Aqua Hot System? I'm curious to know the differences in the system, if any.
  4. Kay doesn't have an odometer on his dash, no mention if he has a speedometer.
  5. I quickly read through my Oasis manual and it doesn't say a thing about running it monthly, etc.
  6. Richard, stop any Snap on tool truck and he'll sell you his inventory plus the truck.
  7. Are you a professional mechanic? If not, I would look at other options. Snap-on tools are no doubt high quality and will last a lifetime using them daily, but that quality comes with a cost.
  8. FYI, Joe, WD 40 is great for removing adhesive. I use it to remove the glue left from stickers and labels. Oh yeah, nice job.
  9. Yep....they can help me book a hotel but I haven't stayed in one in over ten years. My coach has more square footage than some hotel and with a modern kitchen and large shower that has endless hot water. Like I posted earlier, can AAA refer me to any qualified towing company or mechanic to work on my Cummins engine or Freightliner chassis? My roadside service covers every vehicle I drive including yours if I was driving it.
  10. That could be a problem for motorhome owners. I've never seen a Freightliner dealer that's a AAA member or a tow company capable of towing my motorhome.
  11. The average rv'er will do 4-5000 miles per year. Remember, the average rv owner is not retired and with 4 weeks of vacation and weekends it's hard to put 10,000 miles per year on an rv. I average around 8,000.
  12. You can get inside your motorhome from a storage compartment? Amazing.
  13. I've carried wooden pads (12" x 14") for ten years, I took them out of my coach a few weeks ago because in all those years I've never needed to use them. When I overnight at a big box store I never use my jacks. Maybe I'll go dig them out in put them back in the coach. Dont try to convince me it's not hot on an asphalt parking lot when it's 100 degrees.
  14. Good point, Brett. One of the reasons I don't go to FMCA and Good Sam rally's where parking is on parking lots. Hot!
  15. Bunk....it's gives you so little additional area of support that I can't imagine it being much benefit. I will rarely get my heavy rig in an area that soft where I would need pads under my jacks anyway. I read the reviews on Amazon and it never talked about helping in soft surfaces. Makes your rv more stable was the biggy. $150 eeek.
  16. I forgot about the magazine, most forums have a classified section. I've listed it on the Escapees forum where I've had a lot of success buying and selling.
  17. Not to hijack this thread, but can someone explain to me what the real not perceived benefit of these "cool jack pads" would be?
  18. I realize that FMCA doesn't currently have a classified section for members or at least I can't find it. Would that be something of interest to others? I refuse to list anything on Craigslist because of all the scammers I have to deal with.
  19. If your switch is the same as mine, it's a goofy switch. If I understood correctly and that's a big if, it's only a two way switch. It is either on/auto or off. The auto tag dump nomenclature is the name of the switch according to the help desk. I was getting the same message whenever I applied the brakes at low speed. I have the passive steer also if that makes any difference. I cannot raise my tag, only relieve the downward force (pressure).
  20. Here you go. You can also find them for side mount batteries. Google battery disconnect switch.
  21. I'm not sure about the Cherokee model but four wheel drive Wranglers can only be towed four down.
  22. I have noticed the FMCA towing guide gets shorter every year. We may all eventually end up using a trailer or tow doll or towing a Wrangler.
