I can't help in your specific area but check with some auto body shops or even some of the larger U Haul locations.- 4 replies

Roland, I had a 2008 Bounder Diesel and most of our rattles were from cargo. Dishes, pots and pans and the metal shelf in the oven/microwave that would rattle like crazy if we forgot to remove it. Our new Newmar is much quieter but of course it only has about 3000 miles vs almost 70,000 on the Bounder.

Renting Out Your Motorhome- When You're Not Using It?
elkhartjim replied to mweiner's topic in General Discussion
I find it funny, we've gone from would you rent your motorhome to bed bugs. Agree to disagree? I've been trying that tactic also, Herman. -
I suggest using ReJex instead of RanEX. Same amount of work but my in my experience ReJex does a better job and last much longer.

I just Googled 24" wiper blade inserts and they can be bought on Amazon, EBay, Wally World just to name a few. Less tha $10 each.

Renting Out Your Motorhome- When You're Not Using It?
elkhartjim replied to mweiner's topic in General Discussion
I can't think of one reason for me to rent my motorhome and I can easily think of dozens to not rent it. I won't let my super responsible kids borrow it either. -
Whirlpool most likely.

I would also have engine and tranny oil/fluid analysis done. Condition of belts and hoses is something to check also. Caulking along roof seams and of course check if there is any prior water damage. Good luck in your search and keep us going informed.

Self Financed RV or Underwater With Traditional Loan?
elkhartjim replied to mweiner's topic in Type B Motorhomes
Freedom of choice is awesome. Let's please just agree to disagree. -
Great question, Joe. Since I've never experienced diesel turning to wax like n your photo, my dumb question is will it turn back to liquid when it warms. No laughing please, I'm just curious.

Very interesting subject. I think we need someone experienced in refrigeration and thermodynamics. Where are you, Ken, TxIceman? Like Brett and Carl, I hope our winter is over.

Self Financed RV or Underwater With Traditional Loan?

When the return on my investments during this time period are greater than the dollars payed out are it makes perfect sense. -
Great news, Eric.

Self Financed RV or Underwater With Traditional Loan?
elkhartjim replied to mweiner's topic in Type B Motorhomes
The next to last home we owned, it was a struggle for me to convince my wife it would be to our financial benefit to get a mortgage. I finally won that one and we basically lived free for several years because of the income our investments provided. My thought is if I can use someone else's money for large purchases while I use my money to make more money, that's what I'll do. Yes I know, Dave Ramsey is doing backflips at that idea. -
Rich, I believe it was in the 50's in Katy today. Timetraveler, that walking 5 miles in the snow to school was bad but my complaint was it was up hill going and coming. I carried my lunch in a syrup bucket, how about you. Low 60's on Canyon Lake, Tx today.

I know for a fact that GM and Jeep warranties end at 36000 not 36000.1 miles. All time warranties start the day you finalize the sale.

Copied and pasted from above. https://www.cnbc.com/2017/12/20/here-are-the-finalize.html -
I'm amazed how many coach owners with Diamond Shield pay lots of money to have it removed and reapplied...crazy. That is the one thing I wish my motor home didn't have.

Why are you wanting to go to a Cat dealer? I would prefer taking it to the Freightliner dealer in Houston and having the complete chassis checked out. Would the Cat dealer check for air leaks, ride height, etc?

I recommend spraying the hose bib with a little bleach mixture before connecting the hose. I've seen an occasional dog mistake the faucet for a fire hydrant and raise his leg.

It may be hard to find but a beach ball inflated enough to take any sag out may be an option.

Do You Have A Motorcycle With You While RV'ing?
elkhartjim replied to redandsilver's topic in General Discussion
I think your question was answered or were you expecting all those that don't travel with a motorcycle to answer, if so, no I don't. -
Didn't get a message.
