Could you post the Year, Make and Model of the coach you are attempting to connect the Jeep to. Do you know if the Jeep has a CAN wiring system ? Some towing installations require the use of separate tow light harness or if there is room in the tail light fixture, others have installed bulbs and sockets inside the tail lights. Does your Coach have a relay / fuse box installed between the 7 pin socket and the main wiring harness for all the rear marker lights, turn signal and backup lights? CAN stands for closed area network. Even the light bulbs are special. Every function has an IP address. The same type system in now in the Newer Chassis wiring. The old days are gone. Richard, You are correct about the amount of water that can condense in a full tank of fuel. However! all systems need to be vented and as the air in the tanks expands and then contracts over a 24 hr. period. Air in the empty space expands and is replaced equally depending on the real fuel level(s) this allows for humid air to be dawn it to low pressure area of the tank until the interior pressure matches the exterior pressure. If this did not happen then the fuel tanks will fail from flexing or a input point or exit point failing in some manner. No air being allowed into a tank would eventually stop all fuel from flowing. As for just dipping a stick into many fuel systems is impossible because of the bends in the plumbing restricting any solid measuring device from entering a tank, let alone touching the bottom. Rich.

Carl, I'm thinking that for now and for the next 18 months to 2 years. pumping oil from the ground at a loose is better then the cost of restarting a well. So selling it at outlets will offer a small, but necessary draw down point. The cost for now is more the tax fees charged. Rich.

Mentioned the expansion valve. The other items listed could be playing the same game. Pressure levels, easy to check with a manifold gauge set. cleaning the drain could be, but the coach is relatively new. So there should be a small build up of unwanted material in the drain in the heater box. The system could have a newer version of Freon, that was used while charging the system ? However the newer chemistry could have unwanted reactions in the expansion vale assembly? Expansion Valve: This small valve controls the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator. It is controlled by a temperature sensor at the evaporator outlet. If the outlet temperature is too high, it means not enough refrigerant is flowing into the evaporator and the result will be poor cooling. If the outlet temperature is too cool, it means too much refrigerant is flowing and the evaporator fins will probably load up with ice. In either case, the feedback temperature sensor opens and closes the expansion valve opening to achieve the correct flow rate and evaporator outlet temperature. Rich.

From your description it sounds like the Expansion valve is the problem. It prevents icing by turning off the AC compressor when the sensor, located in the evaporator senses a temperature at or below 32 deg. This allows the ice to melt. As soon as the temperature is above the freezing point the Compressor circuit is enabled again. and the beat goes on. In most class A coaches one needs to remove the front portion of the heater box . They do very though. Best to contact a good AC shop familiar with servicing Class A RV air conditioning systems. The hrs. of labor depends on how much needs to be removed to access the valve. If the Freon lines need to be opened. the system needs to be re assembled, a vacuum test then recharged with about 2 1/2 lbs to 3 lbs of Freon in most cases. You did not offer the year and make of your Class A. the Age of the coach can affect the type of Freon used. Rich.

Joe, he mentioned 42,000 miles on the coach. Herman, the 8.1 L engine is an all electronic system. No points or rotor on the engine, but there is a large in line fuel filter, but checking the fuel pressure is one of the first tests to run. Hope that the OP comes back to read our thoughts and fill in a few gapes. The coils on my 8.1 L are still OEM. Replaced the plugs at 100,000 miles , from his discretion - the problem could be heat related, but need more information an a detailed description of just how the lose of power feels while driving. Like a skip or does the engine start and run fine at times and run rough at startup other times . Rich.

SB, Welcome to the FMCA Forum! Very well versed on the issue you are describing. The problem is often loose connection / clamp location at the air input point on the intake manifold. That is the first point to check. along the same line, check the air feed line for any restrictions. dirty air cleaner. The 8.1 is a heavy breather, the other item could be the MAP sensor. Not that common though. Have well over 150,000 miles on the one in our 3/4 ton Suburban. There is definitely a reason they call them Texas Cadillac's. The only thing they will not pass is a gas station. Your coach 8.1L engine should have up graded cam position and crank shaft sensors. The original ones where pron to failure. Send me a PM if you wish. One more thought, do your self a favor and remove the spark plugs, check each one and add some good anti seize to the threads. They can be difficult to remove if not checked and your plugs are now about 15 years old. unless you have changed them. Keep the group in the loop as to what you find. Rich.

Sounds good. Think there is the outside shell, with an inner foam layer and a metal layer on the inside to protect the foam. Do you know how many layers the file will cover? Rich.

Francis, Take a look at this style seal. The proper one is dependent on the glass thickness or you can measure the frame lip edge and order a sample. to check if it matches. To get the proper length needed order X number of feet and cut a length a little longer then the one you remove . Over time the one pictured and others have shrunk. fashafer1. Welcome to the FMCA Forum! Could you clarify? Are you referring to the coach portion or both, the cab seals and the coach windows? Also include the Model Thor coach. Some pictures attached with some height and width dimensions for the windows in question. Also, are you referring to the glass seals or the seals between the side walls and the window frames? Rich.

Supersailor, Welcome to the FMCA Forum. Not sure what manuals you have, but this link is for the remote start software, start and trouble shooting for auto start system. RC /RG control panel Pages 17 to 20 might be a good starting point to check the remotes software setup parameters are correct. The auto start software will default to manual, if the system does not start after 2 or 3 tries. The system may need to be reprogrammed. Page 54 of the owners inverter /charger manual covers trouble shooting. Other pages offer information regarding wire terminals and connections for both Onan and Generic are in the system wiring. This information is in a different manual. There are fuses in the start circuit, but you mentioned that it starts manually. Has the auto start ever worked? Jim, The efficiency Rates are different. 458 Xantrex is rated at 92% and there SW series is rated at 85%. Not that much difference in the over numbers of usable 12 volt current in the larger battery banks. Smaller applications tend to be in lower end equipment, but they do not include the same load range. The trade off is some of the digital electronics do not perform well on the Modified Sine wave. A number of items or suppliers will state that information in the owners manuals. The devil is in the fine print many times. Replaced our unit because the suppliers of some high end items will not stand behind electrical damage caused by Modified sine wave sources. The same goes for gas powered equipment warranties, when ethanol blended fuels are used. Example! engine warranties are only 18 months using ethanol mixed fuel, compared to 6 years in a number of cases. Rich. -

Maintenance, is broken down into, the chassis and the coach. Chassis can be made by Freightliner or Spartan in most cases. There are other chassis builders. The coach was built by Fleetwood. The biggest issue at the time is the fact that builders and there suppliers are closed because of the pandemic at the time. slowing down the the supply chain. A used coach cost is directly related to the previous owner(s) and the condition level they had to keep them repaired. Some are diligent while others let things slide . So the better the records the better the condition of the coach. I always remember an add, where the mechanic mentions pay me now or later. The moral to it is fixing it right and on time always is less expensive then later. Like everything we own, it all requires maintenance. Many owners will tell you that the older ones have fewer amenities( built with fewer regulations) and less to go wrong. Rich. -

Brian, There is a limited number of RV roof AC manufactures and are common with AC only and even models with heat pumps. The control systems can be manual and thermostatically controlled. That does offer more of a challenge in most cases then the AC units themselves. Good luck with the repairs. Stay safe and well. Rich. -

Thanks, Richard! The original poster might want to make sure the throttle return spring is in place , not damaged or disconnected. Brake cleaner work well, but make sure there are no ignition points. Like electrical switches being used or any other item that could ignite the vapors.. Any cleaning agent is flammable when the mixture is right. After cleaning the area lubricate the privot points with silicon or PTFE spray combination. Everything should be free and spring back to the Low Idle point. Rich.

Mike, You will get other reply's, But what unit requirements are required, physical size, will it fit into the space you want to install it, what interface connections are required / will it interface with existing / coach systems. Who is the service provider and software provider? Not all companies are created equally regarding service. Do they just exchange problem units or require them to be shipped to a service location? Does changing items out affect any warranties? Sure you do not want to jump from the frying pan into the fire. Rich. -

The pump is basically the same as a oil pump, Gear driven. I have a 50 year old log splinter. consists of a motor, fluid tank and a pump connected to a hydraulic ram. You just know that spiting in access of 1000 cords. The old girl has cycled thousands of time more then the ,number of time a coach has been leveled. Rich.
