  1. Gentlemen, it's time to stop sniping at one another and get back on the Topic. Does full timing save you a lot of money? I can't answer that since we don't full time. Herman
  2. Richard, Welcome to the Forum. Somewhere in your coach will be a data plate. Mine is located on the wall beside the drivers seat. There you will find your GVWR. This will tell you what you need to know. Weight your coach as you normally use it, coach alone. Subtract that from your GCWR and that will tell you how much weight you may add by towing. Herman
  3. bearwarren, Welcome to the Forum. This post is well over 4 years old. However you are correct about reuse of coolant in your A/H or H/H. I takes a 50/50 mixture of pink or green Anti Freeze and water. My unit take a standard radiator 13 psi Cap. I got mine from O'Riely's. Again Welcome, Herman
  4. You catch on fast. There is no insurance policy more beneficial for the policy holder then the company. Herman
  5. POS? Purley Owful Stuff? 😊 Herman
  6. When the drive shaft disconnect was installed on my 08 Silverado I had a one piece aluminium drive shaft. Due to the length they made a two piece steel drive shaft with a carrier bearing for support. Then balanced the entire shaft. Drive Shaft King did a great job and I never had a problem one. Herman
  7. Joe, Welcome to the Forum. Are you asking about just replacing the two slide valves or up grading to automatic valves? Replacing them are the same either way. Just running power to them if going automatic. If you plan on doing the job yourself be sure to flush and rinse the tanks and then do it again several times. Before you start to remove the old valves make sure that you raise the drivers side of the coach. There's always waste still in the tanks. Be very careful of the "O" rings and you should be fine. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. Herman
  8. rhinderber, Sorry just couldn't stop myself. Your are correct about changing out you toilet. If you do you might consider one that is ceramic. It won't stain, discolored and is easy to keep clean. However the shower enclosure is a different issue. You might look up a plastic shower unit manufacturers and see if they have any suggestions. I guess you could rough it up and apply some sort if vinyl or plastic paint to the surface. The manufacturer may have a suggestion there also. Herman
  9. First, insect repellent will be a metal can and should float. Over time it may deteriorate, in the mean time it will make a great agitator. That being said, It could come out with the flow when dumping, be sure to use a straight clear extension to be able to see if it come out, then again it could get stuck side ways and block the complete emptying of the holding tank. It has to be removed which could entail removing the drain valve. I just had a thought. The toilet could be removed and with a flash light and a set of mechanical fingers snatch the can and pull it out from the top side. No matter which way you go it ain't going to be nice job. Herman
  10. Go pre-owned, let someone else take the two year of frustration having all the issues that have to be addressed with the poor manufacturing in todays coached. Not to mention the desperation. Close to 30% or more in 2 years. But, and just my opinion, they haven't made any good quality coaches since 2008, the year that so many went bankrupted. New coaches with all the Bling and poor quality are not for me. I like the Beauty and Quality of an Older coach, just like me. Herman
  11. Mimipa, Three years difference between the chassis date and body date, very odd. Maybe you meant 2009 chassis for a 2010 coach? Having auto components on a Motor Home is not unusual. The head lights on our 2002 Monaco Dynasty are 1998 BMW 528i. If the part j mentioned is not correct and the relay isn't the problem check with a rebuillder or try RV Salvage Yards. There are a number around the country . Herman
  12. Don, you also missed the statement "over one million members" Herman
  13. Don, Welcome to the Forum. As Fever said, make sure your Explorer is Towable. Is it Four Wheel Drive. If so Does it have the selector to put it in Four Wheel Neutral. If not a ford dealer can install one for you. If it isn't four wheel drive you will need a drive shaft disconnect. A company, " Remco", they have a new name now but you can google Remca, makes a drive shaft disconnect. You will then need a Tow Bar. There are several very good ones on the market. I prefer the "Blue Ox". You will also have to have the Explorer wired for lights. Again I prefer the vehicle to be wired with diodes. And Last you will need an Auxiliary Brake. That is something you will really need if you plan on towing it behind a RoadTrek. However before you go to any of the above mentioned modification I would check your GVWR. Your RoadTrek may not be rated for that much weight. Herman
  14. Bill, you just describe the Red Cross, The Wounded Warriors Project, and virtually every other operation that is a non profit. How about the salaries for all corporations. You work for a salary, are you worth what you receive. I praise all that work for FMCA for keeping the association going so you can have a place to help other RVers. Nowll lets get back to the Topic, Voting on changing FMCA,Family Motor Coach Association to read, FMCA, for Recreation Vehicle owners. Herman
  15. TriMark trimarkcorp.com support Keyless Entry Support Go here and you can get the instructions on how to program you key pad. Do you have the remote? I think you have to have it to be able to program the touch pad. If you don't you may order one or two from TriMark. Herman
  16. Come to TEXAS and I bet we could figure it out. Herman
  17. phader, Have you made the trip yet? Victorville, CA to San Antonio, TX 1,349 miles, 551 miles in Texas alone. FYI it is further from El Paso Texas to Texarkana, Texas then it is from Victorville, California to El Paso. 788 vs 814. Chicago to Texarkana 797 miles vs 814 miles Texarkana to El Paso. Just a bit of Texas trivia. Herman
  18. Carl, If I understand it correctly, the category of "Associate Membership" is for former members. To become an associate you have to have been a member with a motor coach and an "F" number. Again if I understand it, as an "Associate Member" you still retain your number (**) It will just begin with an "A". you still retain your benefit like FMCAssist, the tire program and so on. However you may not hold any elected position at the Chapter, Area or National level and you have no vote on issues such as we have coming up on towables. (**) The number issued to you is yours for Life and can not be reissued. However your Children and or Grand Children may use your with the addition of "S" or "D" for Son or Daughter. The same goes for "GS" or G". Please someone out there correct me if I have gotten some of this wrong. Herman
  19. If you want Family Motor Coach Association to become just FMCA, and allow towables, VOTE. If you want it to remain the Family Motor Coach Association for motor homes only, VOTE. Either way don't complain if you don't VOTE. Herman
  20. Jim that is how the Thread was started back in May. If you would like a different title feel free to start another Thread (post) and give it your suggested title. Sorry I am not trying to be flipped or condescending. Hope you don't take it that way. Herman
  21. GunNut11, Welcome to the FORUM. FMCA, Family Motor Home Association, offers many benefits. The Michelin and Continental Tire Programs where you may obtain tires for your Coach and personal vehicles. It is a very simple program no added cost. They have a Road Side Service program that is an add on,($) There is also the great Magazine, Family Motor Coaching, that come to you each month, no added cost. But the one great benefit that is of no added cost to you is the FMCAssist Program. This is sometime refereed to a "Repatriation Program". Where should you, being more than 100 miles from your home, experience health issues (Death included) and it is determined that you must be returned to your home FMCA will take care of all the arrangements to have both you and your spouse, your motor home and pets returned to your home. I am sorry that I paraphrased the program. But it is a wonderful program. It is one benefit that I hope no one ever has to use. Herman
  22. Hay bud, be sure you have your Cummins Power Club number. 10% discount. If you don't you can get one there. Herman
  23. But that doesn't stop me from pushing the finest brake system made. 😊 Herman
