  1. Jim, Welcome to the Forum. There is a provision not for FMCA Members that down size to a towable. It is an Associate member. "A123456". They maintain membership with the benefits but can not hold an officer nor have voting privileges. I have parked towables at the last two Conventions, Chandler and Indianapolis. You are right they were all very nice people and I hope by attending they were inspired to move up to a Motor Home. Herman
  2. Oh such a short memory. We were sitting out by our nearly new covered wagons sipping rye. I believe we were coming back from driving our cattle to KC. It was somewhere in Oklahoma. Herman
  3. Joe our 02 Dynasty has two escape windows. One behind the bed and another over the couch in the front. However we have four Windows that we can crawl out of if necessary which I hope never happens. Herman
  4. Will the race be going on at the same time as the eclipse? If so I hope the cars will have real lights and not the decaled ones. Herman
  5. One of the postings with picture from Ernie showed the entry steps. It showed the treads with commercial rubberized treads. I thought it looked really nice and I plan on doing it to our coach just a soon as I can find a supplier. Herman
  6. Come folks back on the topic. Should FMCA allow towables? Herman
  7. I know of one person that knows how to open the door. I have seen Charlie Adcock crawl in a window and open the door from the inside. You may be able to contact him to see what it takes. If I remember there is a spring that breaks. His email was cadcock@fmca. Herman
  8. "Billy-Jo-Bob's Cheap Tire and Bait Emporium" are a FMCA Commercial member? 😂 Herman
  9. RR2, As Jim said, it should be a fairly standard socket. You are going to have to replace it any way so clip the wires and take the socket to a parts store and have them match it to a new socket. I have a simple mind so I have simple solutions. (Now here come the comments) Is that better Joe?😊 Herman
  10. Close to Nevada and the Casinos, Duh. Herman
  11. I can agree with each of you but think how far the fuel industry has come in the last 50 years. When I worked in a SERVICE Station, We filled the tank, Cleaned the windows, and checked the oil and tire pressure. But at the same time we never filled up at a station if we saw the tanked delivering fuel. We knew that every bad thing in the storage tank would be stirred up and it needed to settle back in the bottom. Herman
  12. Chris, You make several good points about Work, Time and Age. Taking on a position, any position and doing it right, does take time. Therefore I see it as my duty to take on a position within FMCA so you and other members are able to enjoy the association. Many have gone before us and many will follow. So help when and where you are able. Come when you can and enjoy the time you have with your family. When the time comes when you are empty nester's and retired you may want to get involved more. Til that time come, keep asking your questions and get involved when and where you can. Herman
  13. Bobby, Also Welcome to the Forum. As Carl mentioned this Post is over 7 years old and the Person making the post never returned so we don't know if he got his question answered or not. So don't be a stranger. Read the Forum and jump in any time, new ideas are always welcomed. I see by you quote, "Home is where we PARK it", that you must be full timers. Full timers always have new and different issues and solutions, Welcome aboard. Herman
  14. Carl, The power washer can do more harm than good. I just had mine removed by Xtreme Graphics in Nacogdoches. I had visited with Jim several year ago and he told me "NO HEAT GUN", use steam. I tried using Bobbies small steamer and a Teflon spatula. I did a small area and it did OK. It took a long time and left the residue of the glue still on the surface. I tried several of the adhesive removers and was unsuccessful. It would have worked had it been on a flat surface where to solution could cover the spot but being a vertical surface it just ran off. My solution was to scrape a retaining wall on the way to Chandler and damage the corner of the coach. When I took it to Xtreme Graphics They had to remove that area where the repair had to be done and told the insurance company that they had to remove the whole mess to match the repainted area. They agree, the removal was done and the reaming paint was buffed out and the front looks great. Only cost me my deductible. I am not advocating going out and running into something bu what the heck it worked for me. Herman
  15. Sharon & Linda, Welcome to the Forum again. Sorry to each of you for your losses. Nice to hear that you will be seeing this great country. Take your time, enjoy everything along the way. Remember to go up one way and return by another route. Same trip but twice the things to see. Herman
  16. Turning, Yes. Longer and need for wider turns. Backing, Not recommended. Hard to do and will jack knife really fast and cause damage to both the coach and tow vehicle. Herman
  17. N2, Welcome to the Forum. Two things come to mind. First contact a RV Salvage yard, there are several around the country. One come to mind is Colaws in Cartridge, MO. Sorry I don't have their number handy but you may goggle them. They may have the insert you are looking for. Second, consider making a a nice wooden cutting board insert. Serves two purposes, 1st cover and 2nd you have a nice surface to cut on and not have to have to carry one. Herman
  18. SharonLinda, Click on Erniee's name above when the screen comes up click on the envelope (message) and send Ernie a PM (Personal Message) and ask him to send you some pictures. Herman
  19. Heather, First, Welcome to the Forum. We have a 02 Monaco Dynasty and have the windshield curtain. It is a nice fabric and we have had it dry cleaned once. It looked really nice for a while but we are also looking to do an update. Since we live very close to McKinney, TX we will be having MCD Innovations install a power front windshield shade in both day and night shades. We are also looking to do the window shades as we can. I have looked at both MCD and Shade-Man. Pricing for the window shades are pretty much the same with both companies however with MCD I can drive over and pick them up, install them myself and be close if there are any issues, which I don't expect that there will be. (except with the installer me ) www.mcdinnovations.com www.shade-man.com Either of these companies have booths at all National Conventions. I know that both will be in Perry. GA and Gillette, WY. So be sure to make one or both next year. Herman
  20. Jack, Welcome to the Forum. When asking a question here it is always good if you tell what kind of coach you drive, "A", "B", "C", Super "C". Diesel or Gas, Fred or Pusher. Driving a 45' diesel pusher pulling a 25' Box Trailer is a lot different than a Class "B" towing a smart car. See where I am going with this? If you put all your information under your signature it would help. Herman
