  1. Benny, Great looking bumper. Before you get a brake system for your Jeep let me suggest that you look at the M&G Engineering Brake system. I have it on my Silverado. Have had it on a Jeep, a Yukon and on my third Silverado. On Monday give Monty a call. Tell him Herman said for you to call. 903-675-2812 Herman
  2. Does everything else that works off the chassis batteries and the house batteries work? There may be a fuse for the generator, have you checked for it? As Kay said when was the last time you had it started? You may have just a fuse issue which can be blown when connections are done wrong and sparks fly. Or it could be a bad starter solenoid. Herman
  3. Not familiar with the Southwind but most of my 12 fuses are in the compartment on the drivers side front compartment. Herman
  4. Here is a picture of the button in the passengers armrest. Had to remove the cup holder to find it. Herman Keyless_entry.wpd
  5. Great shot Joe the only thing missing is someone sitting with a cool adult beverage in hand. Ahh. Seeing your awning out reminds me that I have had an issue with our Girard Power awning for close to 4 years, It would go out under power but not in. A new PC board was close to $1,000.00. So for a long time I have cranked it in by hand. Think the ratio is 25 to one. In Indy I spoke to John the owner of Girard and he said he would take care of me, boy does he have a short memory. I did talk to one of his techs and he told me of an issue of solder connections on the board. So I got home and proceeded to remove the board. All of the connections are the same push and clip like on the back of some speakers. As I was removing connection I found one that was barely touching. Re-plugged everything back in including the loose connection. Guess what, the awning went out, the awning went in and out and in again. 4 yaers with a loose connection. I have a power awning!!!! 6. My theory is if it measures 12 volts on both sides of the fuse = GOOD fuse. If is measures 12 volts on one side and "Zero" on the other = BAD fuse. But what the heck everyone will tell you I am simple, or is that a simpleton". Herman
  7. If I understand it, the IRS allows you a one time exemption from Capitol Gains of $250,000.00 per person (co-owners a total of $500,000.00) and if am not mistaken you have to be over 65. Please don't hold me to this as gospel. It is something from when we sold our home in Texas, Tennessee may have different State Laws. Herman
  8. I have used wash & wax to clean the coach. Not to sure it is any better the the wash solution by itself. The one thing I know is if you wash the windows with w/w it is hard to clean the windows. It leaves a film that I conclude is the wax. Many times I will just wet the coach with water wipe and then rinse well with water. I have used vinegar in the water to prevent streaking. However that doesn't work too well, may be I am not using enough to rinse with. Between washing I will use Lucas Slick Mist. It is a detail solution in a spray bottle. Just spray it on and wipe it on. Herman

  10. Jim, You are correct about the Ground connections on RVs. There are so many and there doesn't seem to be one central common ground point. But as you said start with the ground. I had an issue once with my Inverter. Even went so far as to remove it and have it bench tested. It was fine. When removing it I found that the common ground between the shore power and the Generator was a bit loose. Upon reinstalling the unit and being sure all connections were tight I haven't had a problem since. Ah Ground, so hard when you hit it , but so necessary for electricity. Herman
  11. Thanks for the Information on the card. I am going to contact our company and see if the have the same type of card for Canada. Only been to one Canadian Providence, Newfoundland, and didn't need a passport or insurance. Uncle Sam was footing the bills then. 1956 through 1959. Herman
  12. Isaaac1, FYI, at each and every National Convention there will be an App. for your phone about the Convention. It will announce the activities for the day plus and other goings on. I am sorry to say I have always been tooo busy to look at it but my DW looks at it all the time. She is reminding me all the time about something for that day. I see that you are located in SW Louisiana. Are you a member of the Cruzin Cajuns, Romin Catholics or Pelican Travelers? Will you be coming to Texarkana in October for the Six-State Rally? Herman

  14. I don't know if these instructions will even help. They are for a Keyless Entry pad on our coach , a Monaco. In the Arm rest on the passengers side there is a cup holder and a small compartment. The tray in the compartment came out and I felt around and found a device just dangling in there. I was able to pull it out enough to reprogram the lock. It has been so long since I did it I can't remember what it looks like. But I will go and see if I can take a picture of it. Herman
  15. Go go Lowe's or Home Depot and get a sheet of 1/4" clear or white plexiglass cut two stripes the width and length of your current mounting bracket. This will give you 1/4, 1/2 or 3/4 inches spacer you can match the holes in the bracket and you won't have to drill any more holes in the coach, just get longer screws. Might I suggest getting Stainless screws to avoid rust stains. Herman
  16. Kay, good point. The $280.00 figure was a figure I had over heard. The person may have been with another carrier and was speaking of just purchasing the MIFI only. Thanks for clearing it up. Hope yours works as well as ours. Herman
  17. Gentlepeople, As Tom has pointed out this post is about fuel miles per gallon. If it becomes personal then those post will be deleted. So keep it civil without attacking another poster. Thank you. Herman
  18. Syd, I think you had a sales agent that wanted to sell you the Very Expensive MIFI unit. I think it is around $280.00 for the device plus a monthly charge (I don't think the monthly charge is that much, just the device) Herman
  19. Ross, just wonder if the damages to cell phones mentioned is just with the Verizon service or phone. I have also used our AT&T for a hot spot (most of the time tethered) with nary an issue. I see you are on a 30 GB plan. Does it slow down after so many GB are used? Also see you tow an Equinox, any issues with wobble? Herman
  20. Check with your travel agent. They generally have RV storage the same as vehicle parking close to the terminals. Herman
  21. Brocki, I would consider 4 oz per cell per month seems a bit excessive. And as Brett said it is strange that the terminals and cables aren't corroded. Herman
  22. Sounds like you may have an issue with your inverter/charger. Older batteries on their last leg may require deeper charging causing the batteries to out gas. Which can contribute to excess corrosion. Herman
  23. Do you have horn, head lights or windshield wipers? There are several functions in the control box. I had an issue installing the past where one of the connections got hot. Replaced the control box a the connector. When I had another issue I contacted VIP (Vehicle Improved Products). The tech had me down load their PDF file. He then walked me through to steps to analyze my problem. Call them and they my be able to recommend a shop. You might call around large truck shops. Lots of big rigs have Smart Wheels. They may help or recommended a place. Herman
