  1. Tom, sorry for your problems, however it isn't a good idea to put your email address or phone number here. What you may want to consider in the future is having responders to PM you to talk. Then you may exchange numbers. Herman
  2. Sorry, I just responded to Carl's post from three years ago, September 28, 2014😮 It also will not take Roman Numerals. 😊 Pay back, for yesterday's text, is heck. Herman
  3. What's wrong won't it take BC? 😂 Herman
  4. Try typing in "Whenever, wherever and however it Strikes Us" 😆 Herman
  5. Joe, You may have to consider a few modifications to your coach if traveling with more than 1 female. Like adding a 700 gallon Fresh water tank, a 500 gallon Gray and a 200 gallon Holding tank. Then you would only have to dump twice a week when Boon-docking. Man, I know I am in trouble with your DW now. Herman
  6. Bill with a view like that who cares if you have to back up. I am just impressed how the brick pads holds up to the coach weight. Envious, Herman
  7. Have never run out of hot water on the electric. However in the situation you described I would definitely run the Aqua Hot for the showers. Better to be safe then having the DW ----' Herman
  8. Joe, If, in the summertime you are using the diesel side of the A/H for hot water you will also heat the coolant and might get some residual heat through your floor vents. We use only the electric element for heating the hot water during warm weather. That being said I will run the entire unit once a month to exercise the unit. Herman
  9. swestrup, Are you looking for someone to just swap out the old for a new TV or do you need the cabinet rebuilt? You might google "RV remodel". I know of several in the Texas area.Texas Custom Coach, in Pipe Creek, TX Motor Homes of Texas in Nacogdoches, TX. There several in Indiana and Oregon. You might even put in a call to one of your local RV dealers to see if they recommend someone. Good luck, HJerman
  10. Beth, As Carl said you are the first to respond to this post since April 22,2016. That not a big problem when you have something new to add. If you see a posting you can check the date by looking to the right of the last person posting, as in this "jleamont Posted April 22, 2016". But as Carl said, Welcome to the Forum. Let hear more from you. Herman
  11. gls, I believe there there are two different connectors. The pedestals in older camp grounds have a phone connection (jack) not a Cat 5 connector. Herman
  12. Sorry to move off the topic but I have to give another shout out for Inland Truck Parts in Denton, Texas. Upon having the coach aligned they found I had a very loose Drag Link. One of the tie rod ends appeared to have not been lubed in a very long time, another story. Made a call to Monaco. I must say they were nice enough to give me the part number, part was in stock and a price quote. After I regained my breath I told the nice lady on the phone that I would get back to her. Called Inland gave them the Part Number. They called me back said they found the part and would I measure the length to be sure. I did and they ordered the part. No CC required. They called me every day telling me the status of the tracking number. Friday morning they called to tell me the part was in. 4 days from order to receiving the part. Plus I saved $250.00 over the price quoted by Monaco. Thank you Monaco for giving me the P/N and Thanks to Inland Truck Parts for their fine service and $ savings. Herman Again sorry for hi-jacking the post.
  13. Might it be a suction fan? Check it by holding a tissue close to it and see if it is sucked to it. If so it is to remove hot air from the bay. Herman
  14. Does anyone other than myself understand that this issue is dead and all of this rhetoric, snipes and innuendos will not bring it back. Lets move on to the issues of helping our fellow members solve a problem or advise good service, best routes and good RV parks along their travels. Let everyone that is able get ready to go to Indy. There will lots to see, topics to learn and old friends to visit with. Herman
  15. Diana, That's it let out that deep breath and loosen the White Knuckle grip on the steering wheel. Herman
  16. John They did in the past. You had one installed on each shaft on the CV joints. But you had to get on the ground, for both sides, to disengage and re-engage the disconnects. From what I remember they were expensive and a pain in the you know what. Herman
  17. Ross, Years ago LeTourneau made what they called "Electra Drive" earth moving equipment. Every wheel was powered by it's own D/C motor. For example if you had a box scraper and needed more power they just added two more drive wheels. R. G. LeTourneau was way ahead of his time. Herman
  18. Quite a few were made by Electramotive in LaGrange, Illinois. They are so much heavier, taller, longer with so, so much more HP to power the generator. Also the only batteries are the ones used to start the engine. The engines run the generator. Herman
  19. I have never encountered it but in the past before so many cell phones you were able to plug into the parks phone system. I believe it was like motels phone but you had to provide the phone. In older coaches you might see a wall phone mounted or a Princess phone on the counted. OH those were the days. Herman
  20. Sharlene, Sorry for your loss. Codos for going ahead with you and your hubbies dream. Stay with FMCA, there are chapters that have conversions, one comes to mind called the Bus Nuts. They all either did their own conversions or purchased one. They can assist you with anything you need. Check back here and let us know how the work is progressing. Herman
  21. Keon, How old are your kids? Have feed three boys through their teens. When we finally got them out and on their own, we could then afford a motor home. 😁 Herman
  22. Chris, Brett does get a great deal out of Volunteering for FMCA. He has the opportunity to pass on his vast knowledge to folks in need of assistance and for twice a year the chance to ride my arce. I am not too sure which he enjoys most. Love the man and hope he and Dianne have a wonderful adventure on their South America Excursion. (do't tell him I said so) Herman
  23. D, Welcome to the Forum. If you have one TV that you don't watch, just unplug it. I have a similar situation, I have two Vizio TVs. One up front and the other in the bedroom. It really ticks the DW off when I don't hold the remote back behind the wall and her TV goes off as mine comes on. If you want to watch both TV's on different channels change out one for another brand. Herman
  24. Ed, I had a company called "Inland Truck Parts" in Denton Texas repair my radiator. They had to raise the coach up in the rear and drop it down. They sent it out to a shop that had to re-core the unit. Cost was up there but they did very nice work and in a timely manner. There is a company in Organ called "Source Engineering" and they will make you a new radiator. 541-343-0293. From what I heard they are a couple of Ex- Monaco engineers that left and started their own manufacturing company. Herman
