    David, Sorry for your problems. If i t were my coach I would go get my coach and take it to where you can get it fixed. No amount of insurance is worth the hassle you are going through. Pick up your coach, pay what ever they say you own on a credit card and put the charge under dispute. Get your coach back have it fixed and get back to doing what you bought the unit for. Herman

    If the gang plug is disconnected and the short is up stream or down stream the dead short can be located with a continuity test light. Find a good ground and test each pin. When the light comes on that will be the wire that is shorted out. A simple test from my simple mind. Herman

    Mike, Contact Either or both Blue OX and RoadMaster and see if they make base plates for the Miata. If they do then Contact David at Drive Shaft King in Dallas. David will know if a disconnect will work on the Miata. I will look up David's number and PM you. Herman

    csims2, If you were down this way I would suggest taking your coach into Motor Homes of Texas in Nacogdoches, Texas and have it detailed inside and out. They can make a silk purse out of a sows ear. Herman

    fabosworth, if you are messing around with any of your air lines be sure to have your wheels chocked. The more the better. And have heavy duty Jack Stands under the frame if you plan on getting under your coach. It's hard to dial 911 with your coach on your chest. BE SAFE. Herman

    I made my own circuit tester. I use it every time I am ready to connect to shore power. It is a simple volt meter receptacle tester. The one in the picture is for 30 amp. I also have one for 50 amp. I may have 20 bucks in both. (I had most of the parts in my junk drawer). I have used them many times at Six-State. My coach has a built-in surge guard. It protect from things such as lightning and such.

    Ralph, I am sorry but the time are a changing. I still have the last magazine with the listing of members by last name and by "F" numbers. When we would be on the road the wife would see a goose egg and look up their name in th magazine. Several years back when FMCA was not doing so well money wise, they had to make some cut backs and the big issue in January went away. You might also note the size of the magazine now compared to old. Again due to the economy more than one of the coach manufacturer are also gone. But lets look at the bright side, FMCA survived and is doing much better now. Membership is climbing and some things are returning, such as FMCAssist (you may remember it as Medex). It also was gone for awhile. One of our current National President's, Charlie Adcock, and National VP Jon Walker's, goals was to reinstate the program. They did so and it is doing well.     dba, Yes, I did solve my issue. I had a switch problem. Someone had worked on the switch and crossed 2 wires.(sic me) This all started with a lock out switch in the bay doors under the slides. If the bay door is opened it locks the slide from operating. It could also be the switch. Hope this helps. Herman

    db, by some chance do you have any bay doors open? My 02 Dynasty's slides will not operate if a compartment door under the slide is open. If you have opened a compartment go and reclose it, in fact open and close them all. Hope this might work. Herman

    Albert, Welcome to the Forum. In cold weather I will make sure my fresh water tank is full. Then discount the hose and stow it. Since you have an Aqua Hot system your tank bays are protected. Be sure your system is working and your fuel tank is full. Just a side note, be sure and operate your Aqua Hot at least once a month and have it serviced once a year. Herman

    Slowe, Steering wheel locks have been an on and off situation for auto makers. Some had locks then removed them then put them back in. You never know from one year to the next whether they have or don't have a lock. Herman

    Charlie, Welcome to FMCA and the Forum. If you can see the problem roller check to see if something may have become lodged under the roller. If you do find something don't remove it but take it back to the shop. If you find nothing then check to see if the roller rolls freely. It could be a stuck roller can cause problems. Herman

    Roy, with a Remco drive shaft disconnect you will not need a pump. If you are in North Texas, Dallas, look up Drive Shaft King David will fix you up. Herman

    Ted, As Bill said, Welcome to the Forum. There is a unit for swimming pools called a "Freeze Guard". It can be found at places such as Leslie's Pool Supply. Although it is a 220 unit it may be used for 110 Volts by dropping a leg. It is designed to turn on the pump in case the temp. drops below a set temp. Most folk have it set for 34 degrees F. I used one for over 20 years and never had a problem with the water freezing. It can be wired to turn on a heater as Bill suggested of even a 100 watt bulb places in the compartments you wish to keep warm [be sure the bulb doesn't come in contact any surface]. Herman

    Ok Brett, Opps on you, Anti-Freeze doesn't freeze . As you stated there has to be a shut off for the water supply to the Ice Maker. My suggestion is almost the same as I stated earlier. Turn off the water, Disconnect the line and allow it to drain into a pan. then allow the Ice Maker to cycle the cubes out of the maker and it will not refill since the water is turned off. But another thought. If the unit was installed by the Manufacturer then the back of the unit will be insulated. If it is a replacement of a RV unit then there should be access to the Rear of the fridge and a shut off, if not then one should be installed. Again shut off the water cycle the ice out of the maker. On a replacement unit I would place an pad of insulation to the opening and close the hatch. Herman
