Brad, Welcome to the forum. Seeing that you are from Longview I thought I would take this oppertunity to invite you'll to join The Lone Star Chapter of FMCA at one of our up coming Rallies. Due to the opressive heat in Texas we don't have any rallies in the summer. Our next rally is in Durant, OK at the KOA at the Choctaw Casino. We would love to have you come.

Tom, Since we both have Monacos I would assume I have the same wiring. Again nice post.
-
Your pictures are great. Were you able to plug into the same outlet that the norcold was using? Tom I don't know if you know that Lowe's give a 10% discount to Veterans. We will be doing just this early next year. Thanks for the pictures.

See how smart people that own Monacos are.

Frank, how does the unit hold up when moving? Will it work OK on your inverter? Do you just raise the ice maker level when traveling? Would love to hear how well it works. We keep our coach in our barn pluged in when we are not on the road. We always shut down the Norcold 1200 when in the barn. Would be nice to have a household unit that could be left on.

With our present coach, we went through Essex Credit. They are a broker that will find you as good a rate as you can find. The dealer we bought our coach from was very leery of Essex when they came back with 2% lower rate then they had quoted. That was until they received the loan paper work and it was being financed through Wacovia, now Wells Fargo. John and his staff are very helpful. Give them a shot. Good Luck,

Penpails, Welcome to the Forum. One thing, if you have nothing with the key on you may have the 12v solenoid out. I think Brett mentioned this. I had it go out on my 92 Windsor. Got the part at Auto Zone. As Tom said, call Monaco tech dept. they will be more then happy to help. If you do purchase the coach be sure and register it with Monaco. They will keep you up on any recalls. You will really enjoy your Dynasty. If you haven't joined FMCA please do as soon as you purchase the coach. Good luck,

North Georgia To Sacramento California
hermanmullins replied to Roodriver's question in Destinations/Attractions
Roodriver, Hwy 80 come across GA. AL. MS.LA. and into Texas. it follow along I-20. When you get to Ft. Worth, TX it turns into Hwy 180. Around there I would go north and catch Hwy 380. into NM and you can go through Roswell and Ruidosa. Cool area. from there you can go through Alamogordo, NM (in the summer it can get really hot in this area) that goes accross the White Sands NASA Test Facility (ditto) into Las cruces. Then the interstate to Deming, NM and go north through Silver City, NM then on into Arizona and the Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert. North from there bring you to the Grand Canyon. I don't know much from there on. But Heck if I wasn't laid up with a bad shoulder I might have talked myself into going right now. -
Barge On The Mississippi
hermanmullins replied to bizsmith@yahoo.com's question in Destinations/Attractions
Bill, I would think that since they have ferry boats that carry RV across a ship channel a barge would be OK. Maybe the Capt. need to rename his barge "Capt. Conrad's RV Ferry". -
Sheri, Welcome to FMCA and the Forum. Check out the areas you may be staying in for Flea Markets. Most of the time there will someone the makes Wooden signs. Get one with your name and where you are from (John & Jane Doe Someplace, Utah). Put it in your window or better on a stake or something and put it in front of your coach. Then spend more time enjoying the outdoors. If you see people that walk by say hi. Most of the time they are in the same boat you are in. Don't be shy, great them warmly. I have even met people that became customers. Lots of RV Parks have met and great social. Go have fun. Good Luck

Don, I have a 40' 2002 Dynasty. Did you also have the film on the front? Was the quoted price including removing the film or was it just for the top part of the cap? If it was for the complete cap, that sounds like a real bargin. My paint is fine but the film is crazed and cracked all over. Would you message me with their phone number and address. Thanks

1Sammiedog, Welcome to the Forum. I have taken down the address for RV Cooling Unit. It looks like a good fix for the 1200.

Bjarne, Welcome to the Forum. My Monaco book has a list of all the parts mfg. Take a look in there. In the mean time when I get back to our coach I will look and see if I can find it. Post it here if you find one before I am able to look. Good luck.

msgtnobody, What kind of slide mech. do you have? Hydraulic or screw? Mfg.? If you have the part number from the shop look up rvsalvage. There are lots for salvage yards out there and they just might have one. But it seems strange that a coach only 10 years and the factory can't provide a part or source. I went baack and reread your post and it appears you have a Hydraulic unit. Call HWH. 563-724-3396. Then try the salvage yards. Good Luck.

Amarillo, TX to Estes Park, CO

Wave, Welcome to the Forum. As an old sailor and I see the word "WAVE", I think of the lady sailors. As a FMCA member I think of what I do when I meet another RV on the highway. Both are good. Are you members of any chapters? What area do you reside in? Good luck and Happy Traveling. -
Brett, There are cleaners that A/C people to clean evaporators and condensers. A/C parts store have it in stock. It come in a spray can and after a short wait it can be rinsed with water. The instructions are very clear. But as always, do not use a high pressure hose to wash with because it can bend the fins. I would think for rear radiator you could spray through the inside (bed or closet) and hose from the outside. Be sure and do the cleaning where the mess on the ground wont bother you or the environment. Good luck.

Don, As said before, Welcome to the Forum. I see lots of great responses to your question. What I did notice in your response to Brett, was that you had started to have a odor in your gray water through your drains. If this has just began to happen it appears that you have a venting problem. If you have a vent(s) that is clogged for some reason, every time you send much water through the drain it will create a suction and pull the water out of your "P" trap. This will allow sewer gases to come up through your drain. If your vent(s) are working properly leaving your gray water drain open should produce any odor one way or the other. As several have said, I leave my drain closed so when I drain my holding tank I can then flush my hose with the gray water.

Well said, Chris. To tell you the truth, I never knew about the Code of Ethics. I, like yourself, was taught all my life to always be an example to all who see my actions. Again, Well Said.

Rotten Egg Odor In Barn/Suspected Battery Issue
hermanmullins replied to raywaller's topic in Electrical
Ray, I had two Interstate 12v batteries that were maintenance free. When they went bad and I took them to Interstate, I was told they were low on water. I said that they were maintenance free and sealed. The tech proceeded to pop off the cell covers to show me that they were low on water. I remarked that I had always understood that maintenance free meant no maintenance needed or could be done. Now I know. They did replace the two under warranty at no cost. A visual way to check your batteries is to look at the sides of them. An older Bat. near the end of its life will sometimes swell out on their sides. The only time I got the rotten egg smell was when a battery exploded. Good Luck. -
Had the first recall done and everything worked. Got the second recall done and it worked and I took the coach home. The very next day I was getting ready for a trip and turned on the ref. NOTHING. The recall module is a probe on the coil on a small circuit board plugged in between the input power and the main board. The probe is to detect leaks. I called my dealer and they handed me a replacement that I installed it and it is still working. They said that they have had quite a few failures with the boards. That being said one friend of ours had the same power failure on their ref. and called a tech. He by passed the recall and the ref. came on and they found that his coil had a leak. The recall worked as it was intended. Eveyone with a Norcold 1200 is very frustrated. It may not seem it, but I truly beleive that Norcold is really trying. Get in touch with Norcold tell them your problem and let them work with you. Good Luck
