  1. Aaron, you can find it on the FMCA home page. Look in the collum on the right an you will find what you are looking for. You can look up your year model an there will be a guide.
  2. Ray, I had two Interstate 12v batteries that were maintenance free. When they went bad and I took them to Interstate, I was told they were low on water. I said that they were maintenance free and sealed. The tech proceeded to pop off the cell covers to show me that they were low on water. I remarked that I had always understood that maintenance free meant no maintenance needed or could be done. Now I know. They did replace the two under warranty at no cost. A visual way to check your batteries is to look at the sides of them. An older Bat. near the end of its life will sometimes swell out on their sides. The only time I got the rotten egg smell was when a battery exploded. Good Luck.
  3. Had the first recall done and everything worked. Got the second recall done and it worked and I took the coach home. The very next day I was getting ready for a trip and turned on the ref. NOTHING. The recall module is a probe on the coil on a small circuit board plugged in between the input power and the main board. The probe is to detect leaks. I called my dealer and they handed me a replacement that I installed it and it is still working. They said that they have had quite a few failures with the boards. That being said one friend of ours had the same power failure on their ref. and called a tech. He by passed the recall and the ref. came on and they found that his coil had a leak. The recall worked as it was intended. Eveyone with a Norcold 1200 is very frustrated. It may not seem it, but I truly beleive that Norcold is really trying. Get in touch with Norcold tell them your problem and let them work with you. Good Luck
  4. A 15 degree on the rear is quite a bit. The rear axle out that much would account for the steering wheel being off. I would bet it was centered before the alignment and off after. With the toe in being out would account for a lot of wandering. How was the tire wear on the front? A lot of cupping? Glad you found a good shop for your work and they will be glad you shouted their praises.
  5. Sarg. Does either one work? Can you hear anything when you try to extend your slides? Motor? Clicking? Dead silence? Do you have power on to everything in the coach? Were you on battery or shore power when you extended them before? Did you check for tripped brakers? Have you kicked the tires? (Doesn't help but sometimes makes you feel better) Have you called your dealer where you bought the coach? Call your coach Mfg. (You might start here.) So many questions so few answers. Good luck Sarg. When you find the answer post it here so others may benifit.
  6. Tom, That is why N. Tx RV quoted me $3,500 to $3,800 to replace my film. You can remove it with out hurting the paint if you have a lot, a whole lot of time. It comes off just a very small piece at a time. That is if your finger nails last.
  7. Welcome to the FMCA Forum. Try www.fleetwood.com and go to contact us and give their tech. support your problem. That's what they are there for. Post what you find so others can benefit from your knowledge. Good Luck.
  8. Steve, before you start taking your dash apart, just try the ground wire like I described earlier. It may not help but it sure couldn't hurt.
  9. Steve, Welcome to the Forum. I had a 02 Windsor. The fan stopped working. There is a panel just under the dash in front of the passenger seat. You can remove the panel and reach up where the fan shroud is. There is a ground wire on the fan housing. Sometimes it will become loose. I was able to gently pull the wire until I could get to the connector. I put just a small amount pressure to tighten up the grip. When the ground wire was replaced, the fan was able to work just fine until traded the coach. Is this your problem? I don't know but I hope my experience helps. Good Luck
  10. Will do. I will probability do it myself when I get my arm out of this sling. (Shoulder repair). When I get there I will post you for instructions. My son works for our local City government and he can get it disposed of. In the mean time I will research volume of my system and cost of the several coolant on the market. Again thanks for your help.
  11. Brett and Gary, Thanks for some great information on cooling systems. I have never changed or even thought of changing my fluid. I have copied this complete post and will study it all and see if I need to make any changes. 2002 Dynasty Cummins 400 ISL.
  12. Bras can be made to fit and enhance your coach. But they require snaps which means holes in your coach and they will in time, due to flapping in the wind, mar the paint on your coach. They also make clear plastic cover for your coach which allows your paint to show and be protected at the same time. But lots more holes and as time goes on it will cloud up just like your head light covers. Then there is the film. Dupont makes a film for most RVs that allows your color to show through with no holes. Five to six years down the road you will see it cracking and crazing which will require, as I have been quoted, $3,500 to $3,800 to remove and replace. I am not sure if it isn't better to keep your front end clean, bug free and waxed. I am not sure a $65.00 kit would be that good or that easy to put on. And if you make a mistake, how hard will it be to remove and start over with another $65.00 kit. I have heard of people having their front ends sprayed with color coordinated bed liner spray. So the nice thing is that there many choices out there. Good luck.
  13. Just one. Do Not, I say Do Not stop at the KOA north of town. If you are going north on I-25 and you exit for the park, you must go under the Hwy. through a narrow, 1 lane, 13' hight tunnel. If you are going south and exit for the park, you must make a 180 degree turn that can not be made pulling a tow. The road in is in really bad shape. That being said, the people were nice and the park would be a 5 on a scale of 10. W stayed in Pueblo twice. once south of town in a mobile home park that had several RV sites, and once at that KOA. If we need to stay we would either Dry Camp at the large WalMart or check rvreview.com for recommendations. But do go downtown the the Memorial for the Medal of Honor reciptants.
  14. Jack, I didn't get whether you wanted scenic or direct. We travel to Cheyenne, WY to see our kids. We love the trip. We go out of Amarillo north to Dumas on 87/287. Then on into Dalhart on 87. To Texline to Clayton, NM. Across NM on 87 to Raton where we pick up I-25. North on I-25 to loveland, CO and west to Estes Park on Hwy. 34. Along your way you will find a city owned RV park that is free in Dumas. Clayton, NM has a really nice downtown area. In Capulin, NM there is a national monument for the volcano. Raton, NM has a great downtown area with lots of shops my wife loves to visit. North to Trinidad, CO through Raton Pass is a nice WalMart on the south side of Trinidad that has lots of people parking there at night. The one place I always stop is in Pueblo, CO. That wonderful town has the Honor to have 5, FIVE, Medal of Honor Recipients from there. A record for any place in the world. As you can see we love the trip up to Cheyenne. We have taken as long as 4 days to get there and as short as 23 hours (Grand Sons Birth). Go, take your time and enjoy the trip.
  15. Brett, I see that you are now part of the Forum Administration. Congtatulations. I know many people have benifited from you knowledge.

  16. Cheif Chip? Either a Indian or ex navy. Either way, WELCOME to the Forum. Member of FMCA? Since Navastar acquired Monaco it harder to get answers. That being said they still have some great techs there that will answer your question. You may call them, 8:00 - 5:00 Pacific time. I have found it best to e-mail them and they will get back to you within 24 hrs. When you find the answer be sure and post it so many can benefit from your success. www.monaco.com Click on "Contact us", then on "technical support". Be sure and have your Vin # and Coach #. They can look up your coach and that helps they find an answer to your problem.
  17. Gary, We had a 98 Monaco Windsor that had the problem and it was just loose bolts. However my bro-in law had a Gorgie Boy that had a drooping step when weight was put on it. For some time he just put small screw jack support under the step. After much badgering from me, he was having some work done and had the shop take a look. Sure enough he had broken welds. They repositioned the step braces rewelded the supports. No more problems. He still uses the small screw jacks when parked and setup. I kid him that it like wearing a belt and suspenders at the same time. OK with him. What area are you from? Are you'll members of any chapters? Hope this helps.
  18. Gbritton, Welcome to the Forum. If you aren't a member of FMCA yet join now and try some of the chapters in your area. You will meet some great people that have lots to share. Your step problem is in the bottom step. You may have more then one problem. The base of your step should be plywood layed on a metal platform. Hopefully only the wood has deteriorated. If so just replace the wood. However your wood may be fine and the metal frame attached to your coach may have broken. You will need a welder. However t his can quickly be checked by lifting your coach with the jacks and looking under the step. While under the coach, but not under the step, have someone step on the step and see where it gives. Hope that you are lucky and only find loose bolts.
  19. altergrigo, welcome to the forum. If you haven't already done so, look at Joining FMCA and find a chapter that you can get with and meet some great people and learn alot from them. As to you problem check out www.rvbasic.com. There are some diagrams showing how to connect your battries together. Get to know Brett. He has a world of knowledge and love to share it with anyone in need. Good Luck and happy RVing
  20. Brett, isn't there a number that a a/c unit will cool down x number of degrees below the ambient air? Yes the two 15,000 BTU units should cool down a 43 foot coach. If I had a 2011 new coach my dealer would be checking an checking and checking until I was satisfied. Keep us up on what you find.
  21. Let me Welcome You'll to the Forum. We have a friend that has some stuff she got at a florist. I have asked her to send me the name. When she does I will post it to you. In the mean time lay grandmas lamps on the couch or chair and strap them in so nothing happens to them. No matter what you get to secure them in traveling put up a test object up before you just secure Grandmas lamp and take off down the road. If your test object stands up to stopping and starting then you may feel secure in keeping your antique lamps up also. Good luck and I will post you an answer as soon as I get it.
  22. www.myrv.us Click on "Electric Service" and then on "50 amp service".
  23. You stated in your first post that your coach cooled down when connected to 110 volts. Does it cool down faster when plugged in when you have shade then when no shade? Here is just a thought. If your coach is cool from the evening and you know the day is going to be a schorcher, After unplugging start your gen and turn on the a/c to maintain what you have. If you are already traveling and decide that it is too hot so you turn on the gen. and a/cs you are already too late. When going down the hwy. keep your coach as dark as possible. Close all blinds. Close off the back of the coach and only use the front a/c and dash air. Check you filters. Try putting one or two fans around to keep the air moving Was your coach made in the south or north? We had an Ultrastar made in the far north and our small a/c would cool it very well. (installation) And last but not least, if none of our thoughts help, go north in the summer and south in the winter. Good Luck and Keep your Cool.
  24. K, I found gas coupon books that my mother got in my sisters and my names during WWII. Yes I do go way back. I even remember when Canada ruled the NHL, that to was a long time ago also.
  25. Mike & Claudia, I have purchased fuel from a sight glass pump before for $.16/gal. The sight glass pump was so you could see if the fuel was dirty. I spent 40+ years in sales and always told my customers that I would try to sell them at a lower cost rather then a cheap price. Cheap is a connotation of poor quality. Yes many stations sell diesel for less then the big truck stops. However many of the smaller stations don't sell that much diesel and their fuel can be of a lower quality due to water and sediment. So if you can find a lower cost fuel at a location that has lots of diesel customers, and can get you rig in and out with no problems, go for it. So always remember that a lower cost is always better then a cheaper price. By the way, WELCOME TO THE FORUM.
