  1. Unforthuly the american public has come used to entitlements. Free this and free that. So here to all that thank that a fuel location should provide Free everything. Go out and purchase the needed 25 to 40 acres on a major highway for a Truck/RV fuel station. Build a convience store restraunt. Put down 15 to 30 acres of concrete or asphault. Put in several 10 to 15,000 gallon storage tanks. Plus a lot more. Then put in a RV dump station, FREE, that has to be dumped into the very, very large septic system.(Which has to be inspected three or more time per year.) Put water to all the islands so people can fill their water tanks, FREE. and wash the bugs off their coach FREE and even sometimes using the windshield squiges to clean their coach FREE. While leaving a mess for someone else to clean up. And only charge for the fuel(While making less then $0.10 per gallon and having to pay anywhere from 3 to 12% to take your credit card.) Then see how long it would take to turn the site back into a pasture because you didn't make any money(then look at all the people that get mad because you went out of business) I think that Flying J did a great job as long as they could and we as RVer should be thankful they did. I wish Flying J and Pilot the best of luck and hope the continue to provide our needs along the Highways and Byways.
  2. Thanks Tom, The wife and I are going back to Pagosa Springs and then on to Cheyenne. We both love beautiful views. Looking forward to the trip.
  3. Going to Pagosa Springs, CO and was wondering how the Hwy, US 285 between US 169 and Denver. Never been on this road before and was wondering how the road was and if there were any thing special to see. Don't mind the Mountains just bad roads.
  4. Chris, If your Gen set runs as long as you hold down the switch and your remote start doesn't work it would seem that you have a bad switch. Google ONAN and there is a site ask the mechanic. Your question may have already been answered there. I would say that you might have a bad sending unit in your tank and it is reading below 1/4 full and the gen will not run when the gas is below 1/4, just a thought.
  5. In our coach it is called a still life.
  6. Welcome to the Forum. If you leave your receiver on and the Sat Dish on I believe Dish Network will continue to charge you for usage. There is no reason to leave then on and have the dish to continue to search for a sat. Check with Dish Network on how to activate and deactivate your programing. Then turn both off until you plan to use them again and then call Dish Network to activate the receiver. Gook luck and let the folks on the Forum know what Dish Network says.
  7. OH! you mean on your coach. Larry Welcome to the Forum. Check out Graphic Shops in your area. They can take a picture you have and make a decal. Give them a try.
  8. Chuck & Connie, Welcome to the Forum. Age old addage, If it moves and is not supose to use Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and is supose to use WD 40. Check your connections at the motor. Lube steps. Get a bigger Hammer. As said before, it sounds like the motor is shorted out and needs to be replaced. If you are mechanical you can change it your self. If not consult a tech. Good luck.
  9. James, The unit from Blue OX is No. BX 1674. I will pick up mine today at United RV in Ft. Worth, TX. If you haven't looked into a braking system might I suggest looking at M & G Enineering in Athens, TX. m-gengineering.com. Their unit for your GMC will run about $1,200.00 installed. They will plumb your coach and install the unit in your GMC. Just give them a look. Congratulations on finding the low milage GMC.
  10. James, Let me welcome you to both the FMCA and the Forum. I have towed a 2003 GMC Yukon XL many miles with no problems. I believe you will need a set of BX1674 Base Plates. That are the ones I have just ordered for my 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Extended Cab. They look to be easier to install then my last set. One nice thing about the later model Chevrolet Trucks and SUVs is that they do not have a locking pin for the steering wheel. You just hook up, connect cables, put transfer case in neutral & transmission in Park, have wife check that the wheels turn free, turn off ignition, close and lock the doors and go RVing. If you are around Texas send me a message and I will tell you about The Lone Star Chapter of FMCA. Again, Welcome
  11. Ray, sorry for your feeling toward Monaco. Did Navistar treat customer wrong, yes. Have they made changes that customers don't like, yes. But now any coach built before the bankruptcy is out of warranty. But I for one feel that Monaco has made in the past one of the finest production coaches. I probably would not look at a newer coach by Monaco, but if I have the chance to purchase a pre-buyout I would consider it. Again, sorry for your feeling but I still love our 2002 Dynasty.
  12. How did you like Shallow Creek? Looks like a great coach. I am going to send you a message later.
  13. Welcome to the Forum. Kathy, Check out Lagoon RV Resort 600 Enterprise Blvd. Rockport, TX 78382 361-729-7834 361-729-7835 Contact Sarah McCullough info@lagoonsrv.com We have had several Rallies there and are returning in May of 2012. Rockport is a very nice winter place. Be sure to go to lunch at the BIG FISHERMAN. One day a week they have lunches for, if I remember correctly, $1.25 per person.
  14. WELCOME TO THE FORUM. Check and see if you have a relay in the fuel electrical circuit. From what you have tested it has to be a relay or fuse for the fuel pump. Good, Luck
  15. Andre, Welcome to the Forum. Google RV Salvage. There are salvage yards all over the USA and there may be one in your area. You may have to buy the complete roller assy. to get the end cap. One place may have a roller that is damaged and the end cap is good. Look on line, phone them up and check them out. Good Luck.
  16. Come on, Bill. It only takes some lift blocks a few shackle changes New shocks and a new step assy. and you could have a monster MH. talk about parking any where and on what ever you like. I say go for it.
  17. NEVER YOUR OWN? How about the wifes? Brett, have you ever tryed the aerisol spray cleaner that HVAC tech use on the condensers? I have used it at home and following the instructions the dirt just flows away with water pressure. I didn't see any problem with the paint of the unit. I would say to go to a car wash and use the engine cleaner and soapy water, but not the high pressure. Your thoughts.
  18. Leo, Welcome to the Forum. Your generator is a splash lube unit. That means that there is no oil pump or oil filter. If your unit is low on oil it will over heat and the over heat sensor will kill your engine until is cools off. Check you oil. With 160hrs on the unit it is time for an oil change. Good luck.
  19. Before you add hydraulic jack oil check with yout mfg. Most all use Dextron Automatinc Transmission Fluid. Please do not add anything untill you check with the Mfg.
  20. Welcome to the Forum. You have two solenoid valves on your coach. One for the front air bags and one for the rear. If when you press the dump button you should hear the air releasing and the coach to slowly lower. If only the front goes down then you can have several problems. 1) a bad solenoid. 2) a blown fuse for the valve. and 3) the one I had. Dirt dobbers nest in the valve. Hope these help.
  21. Brett Brett, Hwy 7 in AR is one of the most beautiful in AR. One really nice thing is that you can check on your toad just by looking out the side window and not the mirror. Isn't Jasper a net little town? You are making me want to take the drive.
  22. I really love to see all of these answers. It goes back to the old saying "Mine is Bigger then yours". It is quit clear that this great country has some awsome BBQ places. And not every one agrees on which is best. Taste, location, decor, people, menu, and on and on. These answers have given me alot of places to try on our travels. Thanks to all, But Mine IS bigger then yours. HAPPY RVING!
  23. Ron, Welcome to the Forum. I have a 2002 Dynasty with tag axle. My Mfg. tag indicates that I should have 90 psi front and 95 psi in the rear. Mine may be lower due to the tag axle. But I do get a very smooth ride. As for you not being able to dump, I had the same problem with my Windsor. My RV tech concluded that I needed to replace both solenoid valves. I bought the valves and when I removed to old valves if found that both were stopped up with dirt dobber nest. I cleaned the outlet and wala I was able to dump my air. I then put small air filter on the valves to prevent future problems. Oh I did return the $85.00 valves. From you drivers seat can you raise your coach? If not then it might be that your air bags are full and not being able to dump gives you a hard ride. These are just thoughts, but an RV tech could help.
