  1. Chuck, I understand your post, that your A/Cs pull 17 amps while running. My question is how many amps do they pull when they cycle on? That might effect how many amps is required.
  2. Generator Jim, I remember that Mr. R.G , the owner, of LeTournio in Longview made electric drive earth moving equipment. Each wheel was an electric motor. You could always tell one of his units because the engine would run at a fixed RPM. They would determine at what RPM they achieved the most Voltage and it would run all day long at that setting. When you mentioned the RPM setting I thought that could be the problem. Is there a way to adjust the RPM on the Onan? I will look for your answer on this and anything in the future. Good information
  3. While everyone is talking GPSs does anybody know about Garmin's 2455LMT?
  4. Dagger, Welcome to the Forum. Clayl said that Workhorse has a fix that reprogams the IP. You might contact Workhorse about the fix and if there is a W/H dealer near you that might be able to do the reprogram. I can say it now that Thanksgiving is over. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
  5. Your Explorer being a 2011 it could effect the warranty. That I just don't know. But as to doing any harm or damage by pulling the locking pin, it will not harm your vehicle but it might make it easier for the repo man. I have a thought, since your Explorer is a 2011, jack the front end so both front tires are off the ground. Then with the key off and out, try to turn the steering wheel. If it turns and locks you do have a locking pin. However if the wheel will turn stop to stop, you don't have a locking pin and can tow without the key being on and will not rack up mileage.
  6. Les, The answer to your question is like going South for the Winter," Some do, Some don't". Give Winnebago a call, they may know if your coach had a lighted handle or not. Have a good one.
  7. mcsafari, Welcome to the Forum. As Brett said Henderson should have associates in this area that can help. You might check with North Texas RV in Denton. I went through some wonderful training while I was a Cub Pack Master and Scout Master called Wood Badge. There was one word I remember above all else, "Resources" On this Blog are some of the best resources around. The experiance of the members is astounding. Because most every problem that is asked about, there is someone out there has had the same problem. There is a great deal of OJT (On the Job Training) out there and there is no better training then being there and doing something. Good luck with your swaying and rocking & rolling.
  8. Gentlemen, On all vehicles with a steering wheel lock, they must have the key turned to the Accessory position. this gives power to the odomenter which will then rack up miles. On the later models of GM units there isn't a steering wheel lock. You can take your toad to a mechanic and have them remove the locking pin in the steering column. Then you will not have to turn on your key thus eliminating racking up mileage. Just a thought. And by the way PeteH, posting at 1:15 AM is way too early or late to be on the computer. Welcome to the Forum.
  9. astmi, Welcome to the Forum. Give a look at Classic Coach Works www.clasiccoachworks.com they are in your area, Florida. I would look up their web site and call them. Good Luck
  10. Larry and Rita, Happy Thanksgiving. Check out www.legendsofamerica.com. They have listings by states.
  11. Well, from one old man to another, It looks like you are set. There is one thing I have heard about standard transmissions. I was told by a fellow RVer that allthough he had 4 wheel drive and standard shift on his Chevrolet P/U, he still needed a drive shaft disconnect. He was told that with the drive shaft turning in neutral, his rear bearing was not being oiled and would seize up. Just to be on the safe side why don't you contact your Dodge dealer and check this out. Hope it all works out and you are pulling your toad very soon. Happy Thanksgiving
  12. walkersmajic, Welcome to the Forum. Can you still find duel matched V belts anymore? I remember them from waaaayy back there. Check out some of the Hot Rod web sites. They have a lot of people rebuilding to original like yourself and there you may find the double shive you need. Also check out craigslist, like chicken soup, it may not help but it can't hurt. You and your have a happy and safe Thanksgiving. ON EDIT: I just looked at craigslist.com and typed in "460" and there were several people with 460 engines and parts. Give that a look.
  13. racesport, Welcome to the Forum. Since you said you had a three point leveling system, you need to be aware of something about the front jack. When you are parked on grassy or gravel spots always put a large board under the front jack. Use something that will give your jack a large foot print. The center of those type of spots are not packed like the lanes under the tires. Your jack can sink into the ground due to the weight of the coach. One thing you might try to do before you level your coach is to dump your air. This will lower your coach and the jacks will not have to extend so far and will give you more travel to level your coach. And do as Brett said and check to make sure that when it says your level that you really are.
  14. John you don't have to go that far to the right, just enough to be in the middle. I mean center of the steering wheel of course.
  15. AJ, Welcome to the Forum. Doesn't a 94 454 have a computer? If so, can't you reprogram it to the timing you desire. Its been a long time since I heard the term "Timing by ear". I know that we used to time the old Ford Falcon 6 cylinder by ear since the Harmonic Balancer would shift on the rubber and move the timing mark. Loosen the bolt just a hair and drive, stop tap the vacuum advance and drive some more. Of course there were point and condensor too. Check with the Mfg. of your coach, they may be able to tell you where the code is or where the wire is. Good Luck
  16. John, you might lay down and look under your seat at the pedestal. Look to see if the base plate or seat mounting plate are centered. If not check to see if it is offset to the left or right. There is a possibality that the base was installed incorrectly. I tryed to move a barrel chair in our first coach and the bolts were mounted to a plate under the floor (Seat belt safety) making it almost impossiable to relocate. If your seat post is mounted off centered and the base plate is square you may be able to rotate the mount. But beware that the locking pin works off the post and may not lock correctly if moved. You could always just lean to the right.
  17. Bill, that is what I just said. Winegard new domes do receive all three satillites but only 1 at a time. The dish must cycle to each satellite. Maybe one day they will make a dome with 3 LNBs so people can put Dish Network 722 DVRs in their Coaches. I only put a standard Dish Network 311 receiver in MH and I can get all of my local channels by calling and giving them my Zip Code. I then have to call them when I return home to have them switch back to my home Zip Code.
  18. Bill, the problem with the dome for Dish is there is only one LNB. It must cycle between Sat. 110, 119 and I beleive 129. I have the Winegard Road king and each time I move from any channel below 100 to any channel above I can hear my dish turn. Winegard does make a dish that has 3 LNBs but it isn't a dome. I may change out mine sometime in the future but for now, change channel hear the turn.
  19. When did Winegard get a in-motion HD dish?
  20. Then all I can say is "Come back Home. All is forgiven." :) :)
  21. Mikey, I see by your travel map you travel midwest to west coast throught the middle. Try dropping down through Texas one time. Your will love it and the people down here. ? Have you looked for access from the inside of your coach? There might be an access panel under or behind a drawer or cabinet. I'm going to asks, are you sure you need a new element and not to just replace a fuse? Just a thought.
  22. Two thoughts. 1) On conversion coaches and larger coaches made for passengers service like MCI. Prevost, and others, they are able to run their A/Cs all at the same time, check out their wiring diagrams.to see how they are configured. 2) In the past I have seen coaches with 30 amp service that had two A/Cs that could be on at the same time but it would cycle between the units so they both were not on at the same time.
  23. Tom, Also welcome to FMCA and the Forum. See how great the Forum is, your question was answered in less then 18 hours from a member and a staff person. Keep looking at the Forum and you can learn agreat deal and meet some wonderful people. :)
  24. I did have a tripod dish. I connected it to my TV connection in my bay just as I would have to a parks cable. It worked just fine. However on that coach we only had one TV. I would just connect my TV to my receiver and the cable connection from the switch box to the receiver. I would assume that if you had two receivers the second receiver could be hooked up the same way. One satellite into one control box = two receivers.
  25. Are the white streaks coming from rain or after washing? Many times they come from the water used to wash the coach. I have seen comments about using a filter, vinegar or both when rinsing after washing. I am going to use my extra filter with a charcoal cartridge and will post the results.
