Need in dash A/C repair jacksonville, FL area
hermanmullins replied to miturn1's topic in Systems and Appliances
miturn1 Does anything on the AC work? Blower, Heater. If the Blower is working check and see if the Compressor is engaging. If it is engaging and still not blowing cold air then you may have low or no Freon. If the blower is not engaging you can check it by unplugging the unit and run a jumper to it and see if it engages. If it does engage there is a component up front that may be bad. On my Monaco I found the wire to the blower had a break somewhere so I ran a new wire and all is well. I also had a very slow leak but in checking all my fittings I found one that tighten less that 1/4 turn and the leak stopped. As Brett said any good automotive A/C tech can,if willing, work on the unit. The only difference is that the hoses are 40 feet long rather then just 4 feet long. Herman -
I like it. It is very thought provoking. Nelson Mandela was a good man. Herman

hdrich, When you said the starter is new, do you mean it is brand new, rebuilt or remanufactured? Just my opinion, it's the solenoid. It is stuck and will not move causing the clicking noise. You have checked all connection, the battery is good and you said the generator will start off the same battery which means you have fuel ( if you were out of gas it would turn over but not start). Solenoid. But heck I have been wrong more than once. Herman

One other item, if the engine will crank but not start it could possibly be the electronic ignition module. But it will not turnover it it could be a starter solenoid. But the OP said the starter was bench tested. And it may have been a bad test. Wish we knew more about the details. Herman

We were at an RV area last week that had pedestals with 2ea 30 amp outlets and 2ea 15 amp outlets. Several were having issues with their pedestals. I got to checking and found on several pot that the 30 amp plugs were both on the same leg. Moved one of the breakers over to the second leg and wala problem solved. Sorry but if the OP is on the first 50 amp pedestal since Perry he might try hooking to another another to see if it may just be the pedestal before tearing into his ATS. Herman

Like most, my Inverter/charger charges my house batteries when on Shore or Generator. My engine charges my house batteries AND chassis batteries when the engine is running. To keep the chassis batteries charged when parked but on shore power, I mounted a trickle charger and plugged it into my block heater plug. That is a 120 VAC plug, so only "hot" when on shore power or generator. When plugged into shore power or with the generator running it is maintaining the chassis batteries. Haven't had an issue with the batteries in over three years. Trickle charger at WalMart $14.95 + tax and about an hour labor. Herman

Thanks Richard, that's the site I couldn't remember. Herman

I found a site where they had a Country Coach Key Fob for $9.95. But darnet I can't remember the site. They are out there you just need to search for them. I found it by googling country coach key fob. Herman

According to the FMCA Towing Guide up to 2016 they are towable with restrictions. 2017 and newer NO. Herman

jkhac, Welcome to the Forum. As Brett said check your codes to start. I question your statement " MotorHome has old fuel and has been recycled through filter and put back in and changed both Fuel Filter and Water Separator and Algae chemical put in fuel tank." If it were me I would have removed the old fuel and replaced it with new fuel. I had a similar situation where I could slowly get up to speed but had no power. It turned out to be the High Pressure Pump. I also have a 2002 Monaco Dynasty with a 400 ISL. We wish you luck and please tell us what you found, it will help other that may have a similar issue. 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk - Toad Question(s)
hermanmullins replied to gkellerjr's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
gkellerjr, Welcome to the Forum. All those steps are, to me quite confusing. Had we had the opportunity before you purchased the Hawk I would have recommended a small Chevrolet, GMC or Dodge 4 wheel drive. I myself tow a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4. Tows like a dream. I too have a Blue Ox tow bar with a M&G air brake. If you wire your vehicle with diodes you could, on the same harness, wire in a trailer plug. You would need to make the connections before the diodes. Good luck, Herman -
Thank you DBenoit.😂 Maybe we could get your DW to post some. Herman
-
Thank you and a Happy Easter to you and all. Herman
-
OlYeller Then the M&G 2.0 will work. Herman
-
OlYeller, Does you 2007 VW have power brakes? If so the M&g 2.0 will work. I have contacted Monty and ask if the 2.0 will work on a VW without power brakes. He will get back to me Monday or Tuesday. Herman
-
Can you tell if it is coming from just one or all the jack? If just one can you tell which one? Also can you level with your air or can you only level with the jacks? Herman
-
Olyeller, M&G Engineering in Athens, Texas makes unit that may work for you. Give Monty a call Monday and ask him if they have one that may work. Their units are installed and then only requires plugging in. I hope Monty has a unit that will work for you. Herman

The Test is not hard but beware of trick questions. One question on my test was "when towing another vehicle what color strap is used?" There was a picture of a small pulling a car with a nylon YELLOW strap. So naturally I answered YELLOW. Wrong, the correct answer was there must be 1foot by 1 foot white cloth attached to the strap. No where in the book or information did it say anything about towing let alone color or flag.😯 Herman

Dale, this is one for the techs at Atwood. As you stated there is no sign of broken parts. You also said they are electric. Pardon me for asking but are you sure they are electric? Could they be independent hydraulic cylinders driven by an independent electric motor on each jack? It seems to be me you may have an issue with the control board that maintains the leveling of the coach once it is leveled. Sorry for all the questions, hope you find the problem. Lets us know what you find. Herman

SR, are you sure that you reconnected the wires correctly? It may be as simple as miss place wires. Herman

coach888, Sorry to hear that you are forced to give up RVing. Are you in a big hurry to sell or do you have some time ? If you are not in a big hurry then you could try to sell it yourself on RVtrader.com. I would give it a month or so. Now is the time to sell as the weather improves and folks are getting the urge to buy or up grade. However if you are in a hurry to sell you might try, if in or around Texas, PPL, Motor Home Specialist or Motor Homes of Texas. These are three of the best in the Texas area. If you are in some other area you might try googling consignment RVs and see what you can find in your area. Again sorry you have to sell. Good Luck. Herman

Tim, Welcome to the Forum. You should replace the front now. On the rear I would not only look at the side walls for cracking but also between the treads. If you see none there you should be alright. I would inspect the tire before each trip just to be on the safe side. Good luck and safe travels. Herman

I purchased a 55 psi - 5 gpm pump from a strange place, WalMart. I have found several name brand RV products there and at reasonable prices. Herman
