Jerald, Welcome to the Forum. I put an RF-18 Samsung in my Monaco Dynasty through the front door. I did have to remove the Passenger seat. I removed the freezer drawer and both door and all hinges. I then made a very light weight frame the same dimensions of the RF-18 and maneuvered it through the door. I did have to remove the door stop at the top of the door and open it all the way back. Now that being said, I must clarify the I had earlier cut down my TV cabinet. I cut it back my center mounted TV cabinet back 7". I believe on you Knight your furnace is under you refrigerator and you will have a height issue. Width is not a problem in replacing the NeverCool 1200 but height is. Herman

Need moral support: Cummins engine problem
hermanmullins replied to Afordeck's topic in Type A motorhomes
Afordeck, Have a friend that had low power limped home from Glacier. He call a friend at Cummins. The friend had him clean his chassis batteries terminals. It ran like a top. Now his coach is a 1999 Monaco Dynasty and I believe it is an ISB but don't hold me to that. It might be worth a try and if it doesn't work you at least have clean terminals. Herman -

Marvin. Welcome to the Forum. Did you try the dimmer on your headlight switch? Possibly could be a bad or corroded switch. Inside the switch is a reistate that controls the brightness of the dash lights. Turning it back and forth several time my clean the contact. Herman

Need moral support: Cummins engine problem
hermanmullins replied to Afordeck's topic in Type A motorhomes
Sorry to hear about your issues. I don't know this helps but here is what happened to my Cummins 400 ISL. Check engine light came on. Engine ran but had very low power and low boost. Limped into Joplin Cummins Service Center. Turned out to be the High Pressure Fuel Pump. They replaced the pump and has run like a top since. They had to run a complete diagnostic check to discover the problem. Again, sorry for your problems. Herman By the way, Joplin Cummins Service Center is top notch. -
Single or Tandem axles - is one more stable?
hermanmullins replied to kwl0525's topic in Travel-Trailers
Very true Ross, except in making fairly sharp turns and then they can be a bear. (Wheel drag) I still prefer a tandem over a single. A tandem will not fish tail as bad as a single if loaded wrong. Herman -
Sounds like you have a Ride Height Adjusting rod either out of adjustment or a broken rubber adjusting grommet on the rear. Herman

Welcome to the Forum, Tie her down, have lights and brakes. Be safe and enjoy. Herman

Thank to you both. Herman

Carl, Sorry I didn't respond to your comment on the appropriate 2 inch from one side to the other. A 2" adjustment on the rear could only mean maybe a quarter of an inch at the adjusting rod. I will get the factory specifications before I adjust anything. I will let you know the results. Herman

Flat Tow Tow Bar Choices
hermanmullins replied to studebrucer's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Joe, I am not disputing that the aluminum tow bar is weak as you showed in your picture. However I did notice that on the bar there was indication it had been torqued really bad in one direction. Just my observation. Herman -
Carl, we have stayed several times at the Wakeeney, KS KOA. We have found it to be a friendly location, a little hard to get into but nice level site. Will stay there again if we are in the area. Herman

Thanks Kay, had one brake several months ago. I had to laugh, the shop that fixed is, I was away from home, charged me $230.00. Labor approx $200.00 and parts $30.00. (I rounded the numbers). The part was the rubber grommet. I have found them on line for $1.94 each plus shipping. The International Truck dealer has the kit, one rod and two grommets for $17.00. I am going to order 5 on line. I will try to find the factory spec. on the Roadmaster chassis. Update to follow. Herman

Thanks Kay. Will block it up and try the adjustments. Herman

I drive a 40 foot 2002 Monaco Dynasty on a Roadmaster chassis. There are 3 (three) Ride Height Adjusting rods, 1 (one) above the front axle in the center and 2 (two) in the rear just about the drive axle. I would like to raise the left side about two inches. It alway is a bit low on the left side under normal conditions. It does level ok. Has anyone adjusted the rods? I know how to adjust the rods but do not know which direction to move the adjustment to either raise or lower the side. Herman

Replacing 13.5K BTU AC with 15k BTU heat pump
hermanmullins replied to rcoon2's topic in Systems and Appliances
Rick, I was looking into doing the same as you. I was going to replace my rear unit, a Dometic 13,000 btu with a 15,000 btu/heat pump 9my unit has a heat pump. Dometic said it was no problem but would need a new thermostat but that it would use the same wiring. A call to Dometic will get all the information you need. Do you plan on doing it your self or hiring it done? Also I would just replace the rear and not move the front one. Since the front one is also 23 years old also, it may not be long before it also dies on you. Then you can up grade it to. Good Luck. Herman -
1990 Oshkosh Chassis Cummins Diesel 28ft Gulf Stream
hermanmullins replied to peterk's topic in Chassis
Peter, Go to colawrv.com then click on Salvage RVs. That will take you to a list of all the salvaged RVs with pictures. You may have to go through quite a few pictures to find the unit you want. If you find the unit it will have a stock number on it. Then call them, ask for used parts and tell them what you need. It's like giving chicken soup to a dead person, It may not Help but it Can't Hurt. Herman -
Is the cab over part floating free or secured to the roof of the cab? That may help in determining the weight limit. There is an ole adage from the Marine Corp, when faced with a difficult task, "We adjust, adapt and overcome" This is what you need to do not just quit RVing. Come on stick with it, it is a great addition to your life. And then again it is not for everyone. Herman

Bath vent fan cover not working
hermanmullins replied to bobschultz's topic in Systems and Appliances
The drive motor with knob is about $45.00 and the lift arm is $11.00. Just replace both on my bath exhaust fan. Two screws hold the drive motor onto the case. Four screws hold the case cover on. When you drop down the arm is held up with would screws. Remove motor then case cover. Replace lift arm and reverse operation. Motor is splined as is the lift arm. Hope this helps. Herman -
