Repairing fogged windows is what this company in Hudson FL does for a living: https://suncoastdesigners.com/
-
What is wrong with the windows? Dual pane fogged up? Other? Do you know that glass replacement is your only solution-- usually the most expensive solution to fogged windows.

You will need your exhaust brake going down the mountain into Skagway. Quite a grade both length and steepness (11% grade). White Pass, elev. 3,292 feet down to sea level. https://www.themilepost.com/highways/south-klondike-highway/

I would look at deep cycle 6 VDC golf cart batteries from Sams, Cosco, etc.
-
If looking for golf cart deep cycle 6 VDC batteries, check with local golf courses/golf cart stores. Be sure to verify manufacturer date. Like tires, old is not good OR, to be politically correct "Less than ideal"!
-
Looking at the diagram immediately above, that is NOT how I would wire it. I would wire 12VDC positive from one "pair"-- say upper left battery and the ground from the other pair-- the lower right. That way the electrons flow through both pairs instead of the upper ones doing the heavy lifting and the lower pair merely helping.
-
I would suggest that changing power sources under high amp load be considered "what I got away with" vs "best practices". Can you do it-- sure. Will it eventually pit the contacts-- very likely.

Yes, if you want to stay in a specific park, make reservations. If a little bit flexible, in March, no problem.

By March, many Snowbirders will be returning home. Yes, if very early in the month, may be an issue in some parks.

HowieEld, Welcome to the FMCA Forum. The #1 cause of the burned wire as in your picture) is a loose connection (the screw holding the wire has too little torque on it). Have you verified that the ATS is bad (vs just bad connection on that terminal)? Do you have enough slack in your cable to allow you to cut out the bad section-- you will need to do this whether this or a new ATS. If not enough slack, you will need to either replace the romex wire from it's beginning point OR install a new junction box where you will make the appropriate splices.

Air Force 1 vs Roadmaster Brakemaster Systems
wolfe10 replied to punxsyjumper's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
hon48, Welcome to the FMCA Forum. Yes, the invisibrake will work with any type of coach braking system. It is activated by the electrical signal of applying coach brakes. -
Sprint hotspot delivery issues
wolfe10 replied to REI60's topic in RV Internet to Go/Staying in Touch
Assume you mean 1/2/20. Quite likely the holidays have had an impact on shipments. We experienced the same thing with a Home Depo order-- delayed due to the holidays. BTW, different Brett! -
Have you checked voltage to the unit? Same on generator or shore power (to help rule out power issue)? Next would be to check the capacitors (roof access)-- they help start the fan and compressor.

Just price. Use Google earth for satellite view and street view. -

As you said, filling up anywhere from Miami south and you should have no issues with fuel. Refuel when back "on land". Gas Buddy and Google earth will tell where it is less expensive/easy to get in/out. -

And, to further complicate the "how many FMCA members are also on the FMCA Forum, one does not need to be an FMCA member to be on the FMCA Forum. The FMCA Forum is, in many cases how new RV owners find out about FMCA. An excellent recruiting tool!

What electric furnace are you asking about?

I will second the fact that James/Xtreme as a very high quality outfit.

Consignment is neither better/worse than dealer owned. You will find both gems and money pits at both. Said another way, if a coach is a decade old and has not received recommended maintenance over its life, wouldn't matter if owned by a dealership or on consignment. No, my point about Monaco is that they made both entry level AND high end coaches. I personally would not consider their entry level coaches-- or anyone elses for that matter. That does not condemn their higher end products.

https://www.pplmotorhomes.com/used-rvs-for-sale/diesel-motorhomes?sortBy=price+asc& Currently 136 coaches for sale at PPL with Houston being the location with the most coaches (85). The vast majority are consignment coaches. Again, a great place to start your search.
-
A note on consignment lots, including PPL: Quality and maintenance histories are all over the place, since the units are on consignment (vs owned by the dealership and PERHAPS having been reconditions by them). So, some really nice units and some neglected ones. But, an excellent place to start ruling in/out particular makes, models, floorplans. Being able to walk PPL's lot where there are over 100 RV's for sale with out being hassled by salespeople is a tremendous learning experience. If you find a particular kind you like, but not that particular one, you can then widen your search area for that specific coach. A note on Monaco quality: Monaco has made a wide range of RV's from entry level gas to high end diesel. So, it is not reasonable to say high or low. Kind of like looking at a Ford Escort vs Lincoln, both Ford Motor Company products.

Andy, Your charger is not working, or indeed you have a battery with a bad cell. But, you have to fully charge them to do a reliable load test. You may have to use an external charger.
-
Andy, To really be of assistance on the chassis battery voltage issue, we need to know what "device" charges or connects the chassis battery. Many, with the low float voltage readings in your picture are functioning exactly as they should (not combine battery banks until they sense proper (higher than 12.6 VDC).
