  1. We have been using our combo unit for 5 years now without problems. You do have to learn how much constitutes a load of the various items, and the amount of time to allow for drying. We wash everything in the unit. It does help to have clothing, etc. that does not require ironing. For jeans, we use pants stretchers to create a neat crease, and wear other clothing that does not require ironing. A stacked unit might allow us to clean more at one time, but we would have to give up storage space. Ours is vented to the outside.
  2. I have traveled in Canada six times in the past three years in my coach, with Texas plates. I have never had my rig searched. I have always found the Canadian border personnel to be courteous. Never had one ask to enter my coach. On the other hand, when returning to the US, the BP has always done a walk-in of the coach. Usually looking in the refrigerator. We have many Canadian friends from wintering in AZ. We have found the Canadians to be friendly, and parts of the terrain to be beautiful.
  3. One of the most useful I have found for trip planning is http://www.rvparky.com/. It allows you to specify a route, and select parks along the way. It is not a GPS, but is very useful for planning, and seeing the impact of changes in your route.
  4. I have been using lemon Pinesol to clean my toilet, and to deodorize my gray tanks for over 5 years with no known damage to the plumbing. It is not anymore caustic than the motorhome specific toilet cleaners. BTW, Pinesol is much more than a floor cleaner.
  5. X2 for Hartford. MH coverage includes roadside assistance and towing.
  6. Why Mexico when there are plenty of great places in southern Arizona and California?

    New Michelins

What load range tires did you have before? Lucky you, living in such a wonderful location!
  8. Three years ago we got beetles in our awning over the door. They got in the awning somewhere in Oklahoma, and stayed until we got to Wisconsin. Each time we let the awning out they would stay close, but fly around the awning and top of the rig. As soon as we started the motor, they all flew back into the awning and stayed until the next stop. Weird, but kind of fun to watch.
  9. Funny that it doesn't work. I just bought six tires, and they were made in Canada.
  10. It has been my limited experience that if you use Liquid Nails you better be sure to don't ever intend to take it out! It makes a really strong bond.
  11. X2. Bought mine in Yuma. Works better than the TST I replaced.
  12. I have been reading about a product called Sun Block for Tires. Sounds good, so I ordered some from Amazon. Will use on my new Michelins when received. I could not find any down side comments other than cost.
  13. If you are going to Monteal you should not miss Quebec City. We found it much more interesting and easier to get around than Montreal. Especially the old town down by the cruise ship docks. The Province has gone in and rehabbed all the old structures and sold them back to shop owners and residents. IMO it is a must see if you are in that part of Canada. I'm not sure about driving your RV downtown, but the RV Park we used had a shuttle that ran daily to downtown and back. Walking the downtown and harbor area is very practical.
  14. We are running a 38' Monaco Knight with MaxxForce 350 HP, Allison 3000, towing 2008 Saturn Vue weighing approximately 4000 lbs. Unit weight 31,000. Consistently get between 8.5 and 9.5 depending on wind and speed.
  15. I tried to find Michelin XZA3 275/80R22.5 LR H back in January and found that they were out of production until June. I was able to get them yesterday with a DOT of 1615. Can't get much newer than that. If you've been looking, they are now available with great DOT dates.
  16. Many of the parks in Yuma, AZ have provisions for you to get a hard wired Internet and telephone connection thru the cable supplier for the camp. This is probably true for many campgrounds that have cable connections to their sites.
  17. If the tow bar has connectors for Blue Ox base plates, I would suggest you use Blue Ox base plates. Any RV service center, or Blue Ox direct, can tell you the plate required for your 2007 Honda CRV. I am not familiar with the surge brake on the Ready Brute. Maybe someone else can advise.
  18. I had a SaniCon on our 2011 Monaco Knight when purchased. The first thing I found to be a problem was that the end of the hose that connects to the sewer was too large to fit thru the hole in the bottom of the compartment. This meant that I either had to leave the compartment door open, or connect and disconnect each time to dump. Neither option was acceptable. I also found that it was very slow when compared to using the 3", and there was always some dripping from the hose. Just not as sanitary as using the 3". Bottom line, the use of a SaniCon seems to be a love or hate situation. People either love it or hate it. I fall into the hate it category. I finally had it totally removed, and sold it for $150. The purchaser is happy and I'm happy.
  19. I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with your full wall slide. We have a 2011 Monaco Knight with a full wall slide and have never had a problem. I also know of several others with 2011 & 2012 Knights who have not experienced a problem. Have you discussed the issue with Coburg?
  20. If you have a smart phone, you just need a data plan from your provider to use your phone as a hotspot. We happen to use Verizon. Works great.
  21. Mesa Verde National Park near Cortez is a must see. We have visited the Cortez area several times. The best park in the area is the Mesa Verde RV Park, http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/colorado/mancos/mesa-verde-rv-resort. The address shows as Mancos, but the park is about 1/2 mile from the entrance to Mesa Verde. In the summer, I would recommend reservations ahead of time.
  22. I have a 2011 Monaco Knight with the Maxxforce 10 engine. I have had no problems with the engine, and after speaking with a number of other owners with that engine, I don't know where all the "problems" have been. In reading this and other forums, it seems that all brands of engines have enough problems to go around. One of the best things is no DEF.
  23. We stayed at Pine Mountain RV Park in August. Good sites, and close to the trolley line.
  24. We made this trip two years ago. Traveled from Glacier to Banff, then over to Vancouver. I recommend a detour to Kelowna. We stayed on a farm with 10 really nice RV sites. The city is nice with a number of interesting places to visit.
