Well, I have not had a reply from any of the system administrators so the problem just continues. At least now I'm not alone.

I think I want to park next to you and get some modifications to my MH. Nice work.

I don't have anything to comapre with since I have only used one system, TST, and can say this. There service and support has been fantastic. TST TPMS Link

I have basically the same car in my 2013 Lincoln MKX. I looked at your manual on-line and there is nothing about removing a fuse and I don't. However I did have a battery voltage failure one time. Since then I make sure that the display is off, the auto lights are off, the auto windshield wipers are off, the AC system is off, and I don't put it in recirculate mode, and the audio system is off. Then I place the ignition in ACC which for me is an electronic push button. Doing that, I have not had a problem since. If you are using the 12v at the back of the coach as a charge-line you should have no problems even if the items are left on. Just an opinion. Good luck. p.s., I also purchase a portable jump-start, just in case.

Ksteingrube, I recently ran into that same problem. Michelin's are not that readily available so I said the heck with it and ordered 6 TOYO 265/75R22.5 tires. The difference is that with the Michelin 255/80R22.5 at 60 mph the TOYO will be going 59.36 MPH. I just figured it would keep me from getting a ticket. To calculate the tire size differences, try this link: Tire Size Calculator

Check yesterday's activity also. Might have lost it there. At least someone replied.

Although this thread is mainly devoted to RV's let us not forget our TOADS. I recently purchased a new TPMS. My TOAD has "vogue" wheels and low profile tires. (Think 2013 Lincoln MKX with 22" wheels.) Like others, my concern is for tire information when towing behind the MH. The MKX comes with built in tire sensors and to remove them would cause the dash warning light to be on constantly. The valves in the MKX were the rubber base snap in. I did not want to put a sensor on it that could vibrate and cause a shift in the rubber base, or worse. Also, the TPMS Sensor stuck out about 3/4" past the tire. Not good if a curb is encountered. I could not find a 90˚ stem to circumvent that problem. The stem I found would not traverse the hole bend in the chrome wheel. I ordered new tires from Discount Tire and a very knowledgeable person worked with me to try and find a solution. He disappeared for a while and came back with four Schrader 34000 valve stems that accept my built in sensors. These are metal, fit in the hole and the sensors now do not thrust out but to the edge of the tire. I'll still have to be careful but it is doable. There are other valve stems for the different kind of built in sensors. If I could put a 90˚ short valve extension on the present valve stem it would reduce the sticking out part completely. Tierman 9, any thoughts on putting a 90˚ extension on a valve stem and a TPMS Sensor on the end? Thanks. For the MH, I also purchased the Dually Valves mentioned earlier. New tires will be installed with the stems sometime this week.

Thanks Herman. Houston is the biggest city near us here in Texas City. I also have a bunch of o-rings from SCUBA regulator repair days of various sizes, however I like the black RTV way - easier. Thanks for the follow up. Friend made a non-illuminating handle into a illuminating one by just adding LED at the handle end.

Is anyone else having this problem or is Tim just harrasing me?

Can you provide some details on how you accomplished this? Especially the gasket?

My wife uses here dishwasher, but my two legs get tired standing at the sink after a long wash. Sorry, couldn't help myself.

This may be a little off topic but it also may apply to any swivel seat installed. To turn the seat to face the LR the seat has to be moved all the way forward toward the steering wheel for the back to clear when it swivels. Sounds contrary to common sense but it works in a large percentage of the modern MH's.

George, Lubricate all the joining parts/pins with WD-40. Any long accumulation of grit/grime will make it act as you have stated. Spray it and operated it a few times. Let us know what happens.

Flat Tow 2005 Chrysler Convertible
wayne77590 replied to da.dave's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
The only two Chrysler's listed in the 2005 towing guide are: PT Cruiser/Limited/Touring/GT and PT Cruiser Convertible Both need to be manual transmission. There may be exceptions as stated by viewing the Remco site. -
Well, I can attest to the fact that it is not my computer. I visted the Apple store today, logged into this forum and asked to view new content. Nada - nothing, same old reply, "Sorry, no new content found." Someone at the server please push the reset button - just for me, please.

Yep. I posted in case others were looking for the LED bulbs, but also that they may carry the covers. Try your search using the word "cover" instead of "lens," for example: "RV ceiling light cover." Also, if you could post a picture of the cover/lens, along with some dimensions and how it attaches, (screw in, click in with tabs, etc,) I'll also search for you - for a little while - and I'll check with the local rv service repair to see if any of them have them. We don't have your brand RV retailers in my area but many items are so common between RV's. Holler. p.s., check some of the local hardware stores as there may be some crossover stuff used. Check cabinet lighting.

Take a look at the Garmin RV 760 LMT. I got what I paid for and like it very much for the RV. Nice 7" screen. Edited: p.s., I do not rely on any one item for directions. We use the 760, and the iPad when on the road. DW navigates with the iPad and I Navigate with the 760. When there is a conflict we discuss it and then I make the driving decisions based on the discussion. So far, so good. we have not hit an overpass, yet.

This is what I put in place of the Halogen. So far, so good. Been about a year now. MiniInTheBox Lighting Price was right also.

Another thought, check the breaker box for loose wires and the motor for loose wires. This could also cause slow mechanisims.

I'm with George on the lubrication. I have two electric awning and both were a little sluggish and to the point where one would crawl (the 19 foot long one). I lubricated all the pivot points with WD-40 and they began working like they were supposed to. Could be your problem. Try it.

Selling A Car That Has Been Flat-towed
wayne77590 replied to ronpatkni's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Although there may be some mechanical wear and tear on the components, other than the engine, me thinks that the speedometer reading is more indicative to the engine wear and tear. That is what I would be more concerned about if I were buying. Wheel bearings, springs, shocks, are all secondary - in my opinion and if I were purchasing. -
Welcome Sally!

I have recently looked for Michelin 255/80R22.5 tires and all I could find was one here, one there, and the Michelin dealer that I could use the FMCA Advantage program could not tell when he might get some in. So, I decided to go the Toyo equivalent at $470 a tire. Much below the $600+ for Michelins that I found within 100 miles of here. Shop around, there are some good, safe, tires for less money.

My mistake. If the vehicle weighs 26,000.5 pounds just a regular license is required but if it gets to 26,001 pounds or more a Class B or A is required depending on what is being towed. (Don't y'all love technicalities!) I had a Class A CDL. There is no forgiveness if a person obtains a ticket and they have a CDL. No deferred adjudication, no defensive driving. Pay the fine or go to court (and pay the fine). Since I was not driving commercially anymore I converted it to a Class A drivers license. Searches on the subject of the higher class licenses, A or B, and reading up on it, the commercial drivers license manual is the one that the Class A or B licenses is tested. Granted, many items are left out of the standard Class A or B testing questions, but if one really wants to understand the rules of the road the CDL manual is a very good reference. Even those whose MH's are below the Class A or B limit would benefit reading the CDL manual. Houston's fine for 1-5 mph over speed limit is $194.

I don't know of any 40' MH's towing a car that are 55 feet or under. MH 40' + towbar 2'+ + car 17' is about 59-60 feet.
