  1. Yep. I posted in case others were looking for the LED bulbs, but also that they may carry the covers. Try your search using the word "cover" instead of "lens," for example: "RV ceiling light cover." Also, if you could post a picture of the cover/lens, along with some dimensions and how it attaches, (screw in, click in with tabs, etc,) I'll also search for you - for a little while - and I'll check with the local rv service repair to see if any of them have them. We don't have your brand RV retailers in my area but many items are so common between RV's. Holler. p.s., check some of the local hardware stores as there may be some crossover stuff used. Check cabinet lighting.
  2. Take a look at the Garmin RV 760 LMT. I got what I paid for and like it very much for the RV. Nice 7" screen. Edited: p.s., I do not rely on any one item for directions. We use the 760, and the iPad when on the road. DW navigates with the iPad and I Navigate with the 760. When there is a conflict we discuss it and then I make the driving decisions based on the discussion. So far, so good. we have not hit an overpass, yet.
  3. This is what I put in place of the Halogen. So far, so good. Been about a year now. MiniInTheBox Lighting Price was right also.
  4. Another thought, check the breaker box for loose wires and the motor for loose wires. This could also cause slow mechanisims.
  5. I'm with George on the lubrication. I have two electric awning and both were a little sluggish and to the point where one would crawl (the 19 foot long one). I lubricated all the pivot points with WD-40 and they began working like they were supposed to. Could be your problem. Try it.
  6. Although there may be some mechanical wear and tear on the components, other than the engine, me thinks that the speedometer reading is more indicative to the engine wear and tear. That is what I would be more concerned about if I were buying. Wheel bearings, springs, shocks, are all secondary - in my opinion and if I were purchasing.

    Double Coin Tires

I have recently looked for Michelin 255/80R22.5 tires and all I could find was one here, one there, and the Michelin dealer that I could use the FMCA Advantage program could not tell when he might get some in. So, I decided to go the Toyo equivalent at $470 a tire. Much below the $600+ for Michelins that I found within 100 miles of here. Shop around, there are some good, safe, tires for less money.
  8. My mistake. If the vehicle weighs 26,000.5 pounds just a regular license is required but if it gets to 26,001 pounds or more a Class B or A is required depending on what is being towed. (Don't y'all love technicalities!) I had a Class A CDL. There is no forgiveness if a person obtains a ticket and they have a CDL. No deferred adjudication, no defensive driving. Pay the fine or go to court (and pay the fine). Since I was not driving commercially anymore I converted it to a Class A drivers license. Searches on the subject of the higher class licenses, A or B, and reading up on it, the commercial drivers license manual is the one that the Class A or B licenses is tested. Granted, many items are left out of the standard Class A or B testing questions, but if one really wants to understand the rules of the road the CDL manual is a very good reference. Even those whose MH's are below the Class A or B limit would benefit reading the CDL manual. Houston's fine for 1-5 mph over speed limit is $194.
  9. I don't know of any 40' MH's towing a car that are 55 feet or under. MH 40' + towbar 2'+ + car 17' is about 59-60 feet.
  10. Let me throw this into the fire. In Texas any vehicle over 26,000 pounds is a commercial vehicle. Although a CDL is not required to drive a motorhome. State law. Read the CDL-2 form.
  11. I just fired up the MacBook Pro, and I get the exact same results. "Sorry, no new content found."
  12. Brett, I get the message regardless of how many posts have been made. Clicking on past 24 hours or any other time frame results in the same message. Ross, I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one - but mine is a consistent message. I can wait two days and there could be 20 posts but I still get the message that there is no new content. Herman, I said I held my mouth correctly. Sheesh!
  13. I am computer literate. Well, at least I think I am having retired as an Information Security Specialist. To no avail I am still getting the "Sorry, no new content found," whenever I click on "view new content." I have tried holding my mouth different ways, standing on my head, laying down, and cleaning all caches and information pertaining to FMCA on this computer, starting new, only to get the same message. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and especially if they work.
  14. Cummins has gone to 15,000 miles or 1 year, which ever comes first, maintenance. Maybe that's just on my ISB.
  15. Presntly at the CG we are in an acquaintance has a D-Llink hooked up to his MiFi. He said hookup was easy using WPS. Video looked good.
  16. As long as you have a router of some sort, look into D-Link. I have the DCS-5009L and it works from where ever I am located. Runs off AC. Remote control it for viewing, left, right, up and down with side to side about 180 degrees and up and down more than sufficient to see the floor/ceiling (Just incase the cat's up there.) I have not tried it in the MH - yet - but I'm going to see if I can link it to my MiFi.
  17. No matter what I do I get this message: "Sorry, no new content found." Cleared caches, cookies and all other related items. Search for keyword FMCA on computer and deleted everything I found. Logged back in and same message.
  18. I live in Texas City, TX about 40 miles South of Houston. There have been a few winters where the temperatures dropped below 32˚ for a few days. When that was predicted my winterizing consisted of draining everything, blowing out the lines with my air compressor, and putting "pink" stuff in the drains. So easy to de-winterize when the time comes, and refil the tanks. I've only done that a few times in the past several years. If you are not going to be around to watch the weather, then precautions should be taken, as we do get some freezing cold snaps. Most only last about 4-6 hours, but there are times when it an stay below freezing for more than a day. Those are the times that are of concern.
  19. I'm not pointing the finger at any one indivdual when I say this, but attitude begets attitude. I have not had a problem on any forum I have been on. Sometimes though it is best to hold the fingers off the keyboard instead of answering a post or thread....oops, like this one. I have had reports on campgrounds where office personnel or hosts had a bad attitude, yet when I was there before or after there was never an attitude problem. Just saying that sometimes it is very difficult to see the facial expressions behind a written word, and they can be taken in the wrong way.
  20. #23 is not a problem if you are on I-40. #23 is on old route 66. We have gone both ways, I-10 and i-40 in a 40' MH with a 340 Cumminss pulling a 3000+ pound TOAD with no problems. The route you have indicated, both, are the fastes way to get from SB, CA to MA. We go to Central MA every other year and we have taken the route I-90 from MA to Niagara and just expect around $50 in tolls either direction. Unless you have a reson for going through Stafford, CT, pick up-I-84 in Sturbridge. Nice road, and will take you all the way back to Scranton, PA. You indicated picking up I-10 (Hwy-10) but did not say where you intended to pick up I-10. Just remember that if it is June, July, August or September, it is going to be hot, hot, hot. We get out of Texas for the summer so I guess we are SummerBirds.
  21. Rich, I whole heartedly agree with you. I have dealt with technology since around 1960 and the ever changing aspects of it. When I'm driving the Lincoln MKX I use the technology but I'm ever vigilant regarding the automatic stuff, like always ready to depress the brake knowing that the adaptive cruise could fail, or the precharge of the brakes when the collision avoidance goes of, or doesn't go off. The big test is when I get into another vehcile that doesn't have those capabilities, like the MH. Then I'm entirely on my own and remembering that there are not automatic switches is a constant vigil. So far, so good.
  22. I have everything on my 2013 Lincoln except the lane radar. Adaptive cruise control, adaptive lights, crash avoidance, automatic windshield wipers. Those self drive cars are only a year or two away. There is a company now called "Cruise" that is well on the way. http://www.getcruise.com/
  23. Ray, Thanks for the video. Close call. On my recent trip had a flat bed pass me on the left and I exclamied "Explitive deleted" because he came about 3 inches or so of sideswiping me. Unfortuantely the GoPro doesn't pick up to the side.
  24. Ah, but they are like a kid, the bathtub is a car wash! Last trip (this one) we left home and drove to SA, TX and I still have not washed it. didn't need to. Last 3 days of rain took care of it.
