  1. You'll never know unless you try. Good sashimi dipped in soy sauce and a tid bit of wasabe on it is just great! Now the one thing I will not try, and they do it in the Orient, is raw chicken.
  2. Herman, if you want to get to Galveston, or go from Galveston home, I can give you an easy drive route that you will never touch Houston, or it's outskirts. Find your way down 77 to 10E and 24 miles to Hwy 36S in Sealy. Travel towards Rosenbug and when you see Spur 10 (Right turn) take it around Rosenburg and reconnect to Hwy 36. About 14 or 15 miles down the road pick up FM 1462E towards Alvin. When you get to Alvin, cross over Hwy 35 and turn left on 35N Alvin Bypass. About 2 miles up the road turn right onto Hwy 6S and follow it to I-45 just before the bridge into Galveston. Might be a tad longer and have some red lights, but a more relaxing ride than the freeways. Reverse if traveling home. If you stop in Galveston for any period of time you had better call me. I'll pm you my phone number.
  3. 77 miles to Galveston - where are you coming from. Not Whitewrite TX. That's 369 miles. If you are coming down 45 you will pass within 8 miles of our place.
  4. Ray, then I take it you have never had it. You are missing out on delicious food. Sushi usually accompanies Sashimi. Some are going to remark that it is bait but I can assure you it is very very good.
  5. We cancelled our trip to the North this year. If things quiet down we'll go someplace later on. Herman, only seven sites where you are going. Nice little park. I'd want site 1 or site 5 with 1 being back in so grass was on door side and 5 being pull-in and again with door on grass side. Very little space in the other ones. Do they have FHU?
  6. They most certainly are, but you had better not tell them that!
  7. Hey! What's wrong with Tofu. Goes good with Sashimi!
  8. In the 10 mile rural triangle it will reset itself until the next ten mile run down the road. 🙂👿
  9. As JIm stated, google the information on the plate sticker. When my Kwikee step went out in our previous MH the RV companies wanted about $250+ dollars for the motor. I got a brand new motor from a place in CA for $79. Maybe the motor can be rebuilt by an armature shop.
  10. In my former 2007 Saturn I went about a mile or so and was wondering if I had taken it out of reverse. Stopped, checked and nope it was in reverse. Put it in neutral, started it and when through the procedure of drive, reverse, neutral. I never had a problem with that car or transmission. I always set the tow bar by backing up when hooking. If one side doesn't catch I turn the steering wheel in that direction and pull the MH ahead a few feet. Earlene stands and gives me a thumbs up when it engages.
  11. When finished at Bill's place there are many CG's around here and I'll come stay next to you for a demonstration of your abilities. Oh, looking good and yes, stay safe.

    test

Herman! Surprised that you don't know what the test is for. Must be an age thing. 🙂
  13. Since we have two sides, tipping ca cause the water on the up-side to possibly stay on the slide. So, I now raise the front up a few inches and let the water drain off the back side. You do need tight toppers though, or either method will just have the water still puddling in the middle. Some people put beach balls under the toppers to raise the center. I've never done that, nor do I think I will.
  14. Just tell her she doesn't have to remind you every 6 months! My wife would most likely say, every time we left the MH, "Is the switch on?"
  15. It's not the slide seal it is the wiper seal that could need replacing but I don't think that will be your case. Our manual, specific of course to our MH, says to tilt the MH and then bring the slide in if there has been rain. PIA, but works. It is especially true if there has been a blowing rain and it gets under the topper. As for the topper, when you pull in the slide you will see the water running of the edge. Stop the slide and wait for it to subside, the start retracting again and repeat if necessary. As for leveling the answer to see what the manual says, or contact the manufacturer is the best answer. In my case it is level first, then extend. The reason is that if the coach is out of level it puts a strain on the the slide because it is torqued one way or the other and can be damaged. Again - specific to my MH. Regarding my comment on "slide seal." The slide seal is a gasket that runs around the entire periphery of the slide and is on the inside frame edge of the slide. There are two for each slide. One on the inside and one on the outside. When the slide is retracted, from the inside feel up above or on the side of the slide and you can feel the rubber gasket. On the outside when the slide is extended you can look and see the gasket on the inside of the slide, outside edge. The wiper seal stays in place. I know, I know, semantics shemantecs. Just setting the record straight.
  16. Warren, Send an email to the DMV explaining the situation. They may come back with a reply that would cover you by showing the learners permit and the email they send back to you. If not, you haven't lost anything as the worse you can get for asking is a, "No!"
  17. Carl, go to the "Daily Rates" page and there is a list of fuel companies that have the TSD discount. Stripes is not one of them but that doesn't mean the page does not have to be updated either.
  18. Interesting! My battery is the last compartment in the rear on the driver side. I'd run some heavy gauge wire underneath with tie-wraps to a spot where I could get in. In the old days we plugged CB holes with a 3/4 inch grommet. If we wanted to run a coax through it we would "X" slit it and push the coax through. Of course it required a 3/4" hole. Same could be used for a power line. Just find a spot through the floor or firewall to drill the hole. Also, look at the wiring harness that goes through the firwall and see if there is space enough in that grommet for a cable. KE5QG
  19. Oops! Forgot! Let me add that I have the TSD EFS card also. Loves used to be 40 cents a gallon at most stations but recently went to 16 cents at all stations that are corporate owned. The independent stations flying the Love's sign do not have to give discounts or adhere to Love's pricing. Same for PFJ, etc. Some TA and Petro stations are giving over 80 cents discounts but I have no recall as to what the pump price was. Let me look it up. The daily rates for the 10th are higher than Love's 16 cents at TA and Petro. TSD sent out a daily rates link several months ago.
  20. Bill, check your eyesight. Hee hee! Besides, Carl was Army and everyone knows they can't count past 4.😇
  21. Richard (Doc), loved having your particular talent close by. Thank you. I thought the army was called GRUNTs (Ground Replacement Usually Not Trained)
