Kay, Texas LTC states it is illegal to carry in a church. Super8, That is a Federal law. Now what is the State law. Doesn't matter what the Federal law is if the State law forbids stopping in that state with a firearm. One can argue in court but it could be expensive and you may have had to surrender your weapon to state authorities. Then try getting it back. Conundrum to say the least.

Had it been ten years old I would have said goodby when making the reservations and found another campground.

My 2008 fiberglass full body paint looked as good as it did when I bought it in 2008. No cracks and never a brush applied, just microfiber clothes. Unfortunately the new to us 2015 has swirl marks where someone didn't know what they were doing when washing or waxing. My tires after 8 years had minimal sidewall cracking, less than a fingernail width. I did decide to cover them for week long stays beginning in 2016 and then Harvey flooded it. Darn, new tires in 2016 and flooded in 2017. Only replaced them for peace of mind.

The 80 pound Husky in our case is a big deterrent. Anyone who enters any type of dwelling where a dog is barking is just a fool. Joe S, I once asked a postal employee if they would want me in their facility, armed and with a license to carry, when someone comes in with a weapon and they all agreed that they would like to have me there. Unfortunately that cannot be the case. Staying in military RV parks does not give one the option of having a weapon and that is about 90-95% of the military bases. It is just not worth the hassle one gets if a search is done and a weapon is found. I wish I had a retired LEO badge as it would open up a lot of other doors. We have been traveling and camping in various forms since 1974. I can honestly say that in all that time I have never felt threatened while on the road or camping. However, it is an insurance when carrying that should something happen one could be prepared and possibly minimize innocent casualties.

rfsod48, Since early in 2010 the National Park Serve has allow all weapons in their National Parks and can be carried openly. The weapons cannot be fired except "in rare circumstances." Weapons cannot be carried inside any Federal Building and that would include the park offices and other buildings. Also consider when traveling through different states. It is a Federal Law that you have the right to transport a firearm, however it is also the State's right to arrest you if you make a stop in that state.(Think fuel stop) Transporting through is not the same as stopping along the way. Either way I just don't want the hassle. I respect the right to carry or not carry. It is a personal preference. In today's day and age I have the inclination that all have a weapon, and especially those traveling in their "home"(RV). I have a ball point pen in my pocket. It is also a weapon. It will not stand up to a firearm though.

I have an LTC and when traveling locally I will carry. However, when on the road we stop at military campgrounds and the rig-a-morow one has to go through to get aboard the installation is not worth it. Many of the military bases will not even allow it and it is a federal crime to carry aboard any Federal installation. I can say that in the many years of carrying I have never had the urge to "defend" myself, nor have I ever needed one when not carrying. It does give one peace of mind though.

In our previous MH we had an original 30" TV. Had the speaker grills on the front sides and occupied a space of 36" x 21". We replaced it with at 36" TV that fit right in the hole. Mandatory that you measure the dimensions of the hole and then go shopping with a tape measure. Don't measure diagonally just length and width. Many of the newer TV's have 1/2" or less borders and it gives a much nicer viewing area. Sales people will walk up and say, "you need to measure diagonally for size," They have no idea what you are measuring for.

Don't limit yourself to staying in SA, broaden your radius and you will find plenty of RV parks that are withing 30 minutes of downtown SA. Look on www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/texas. Our first trip was to Rio Guadalupe Resort and we enjoyed being on the "4th landing" of the Guadalupe river. There are other rv parks along River Road.

If you had problems with a Dealer or Repair facility that GS has authorized you need to inform GS of the problems you encountered. It may save some one the from the same "not good" service you received.

Be very careful with Moth Balls. Here is a quote from one medical source - forgot which one. "Mothballs are nearly 100% active ingredient, and the active ingredient may be either naphthalene or paradichlorobenzene. Each active ingredient can cause different health effects if the exposure is high enough. Mothballs slowly turn from solids to toxic vapor. When you smell mothballs, you are inhaling the insecticide"

Current limiting switches are constantly on. In the step "on mode" the switch is operated by the magnet on the door. Door open, step outl, etc., but the current has to be present for the magnetic switch to work. In my previous life Winnebago I was having the same problem with battery drain while in storage. Bugged the heck out of me so I called Winnebago. Technical support said to turn the step switch off as the draw of the step along with the other parasitic items would be more than the Tric-L-Charger coud keep up with. Once I started turning my step off I never had a low voltage situation again. On this newer coach that we have they told me to use both the house and service disconnect switches to keep the batteries from draining. I'll see how that goes but I may hook up my Battery-Minder.

The steps, if turned on, will have a continuous draw as does the "parasitic" stuff. When I was plugged in to 110 and the steps were left on the inverter/charger could not stay up with the combination draws. When I turned the steps off I never had the problem again. The steps stop by a current limiting switch that ha the continuous draw.

Okay, here goes. Locks, whether padlock or door lock, are to keep the honest people out. A knowledgeable thief will easily defeat any of them. The only protection locks have are for those "ride-through-thieves that are looking for an easy mark. Your entry door lock can be popped with a screwdriver as well as your bay doors. With that said, in the nine years I have owned a PT-50C I have always locked it to the pedestal with a heavy chain and two padlocks. Now let me say that with the padlocks the heel of a shoe smacked against a 50 cent piece a couple times will open the lock. Well 50 cent pieces are not that widely in circulation but hammers and screwdrivers are. Makes a lot of noise but 30 seconds is all that is needed. Peace of mind is what I look for and securing it in any fashion will satisfy the insurance companies

Roger, isn't the rule that trailer tires should be inflated to the max load capacity and MH's to the weighed load capacity?
