  1. Thanks Jim. I'm going to have a print-out of the RV NADA information to hand to him and If I can get the amount indicated or close enough I'll be happy. I have indicated I want to be there when the inspector is. They did not write the check on the spot. With the volume of paperwork they are experience with the different catastrophes I'm sure there is going to be some sort of bog down.
  2. Thanks Bill, I have been through their site and many others, Lazy Days, RVT, etc. Lots of them meet the eye but many do not. I'm aghast at a MH's that have two couches opposing each other and a pop up TV behind one of them. It has to be a single couch/hide-a-bed and a Euro chair or recliner. Either one as I'll replace it with the one I have now. It has narrowed my available coaches. We cannot do anything until I know what the insurance company is going to do. We'll be so glad when it is over. Our service manager said that even after the adjuster inspects the MH it could be a month or more before he settle up with us. Oh well. It to shall pass.
  3. Herman, I don't understand the statement you made ( I put in bold type). Are you stating you don't know how to check data in google maps or the MAPS APP. Both are capable. If Jim can teach Carl how to find a trucker's atlas, I'm sure you can learn how to find traffic on a map.

  5. Tom, The foam floaters work real well, go ahead and ask me how I know. However, when you go to the toy department to buy them, focus, focus...it is the foam floaters you are after. Don't dilly dally and play with the other toys.
  6. I had that experience at my storage facility. The facility finally replaced the GFCI and I have not had any problems since. The more they trip the more the mechanisms weaken and cause them to trip at lower loads.
  7. Tom, Have you tried refreshing FF, or opening Safe Mode, or opening with disabled addons? Under Help menu.
  8. Ha ha! Something you don't have at the present time. If you go to the top of the page and click on your name then click on Account Settings and then click on Signature, you can add information to every post you ever made with your name, RV, TOAD, etc. It really helps when you may have a problem with a specific item in your MH for others to answer your questions.

  10. IM, Try using Firefox. I have been on a MAC for many years. In the very few times that FF will not access a site is typically because of the sites settings and when that happens I just switch to Safari. If that doesn't work I don't need the site.

  13. I posted somewhere back but I encourage any veteran with ailments to seek VA support. If 'Nam vet the presumptive lists of diseases from AO are many. Like many I was stubborn. Retired in '84...in '96 friends kept urging me to file for VA... I did and it is one of the better decisions I have made. Before anyone criticizes the, the Houston VA is one of the better ones in the country. Thanks to all who have served and may you years be filled with happiness.
  14. I liked the 2011 Itasca Elipse at MoT. There are a lot of used MH's out there right now. Most likely as soon as the insurance adjuster settles with us they will all be gone and it will be like a needle in a haystack.
  15. I think it is plain ol' greed. Regular gas and diesel are the same price here, $2.39 per gallon. Go figure. Before Harvey and Irma it was around $2.00 and Sams had it at $1.89 at times.

  17. Tom, Some problems just don't go away. However, click on you name top right corner, click "account settings" and click on "signature." Check to see if "view signatures" are turned on. That's all I have to contribute to the "problem."
  18. Yep, on any given day that batteries have not been cleaned, take an volt/amp meter and put it between the two terminals, not touching the terminals and a reading will appear. The dirt/grime causes the flow across the battery.
  19. Doesn't matter to me when the first post was made Tom...pay Herman no nevermind. I am using the same program FF 55.0.3, on a MAC and I see all the signatures. It goes back to previous posts of holding mouth right (or left).

  21. Happened to me in my 2008 Winni. Sat in the driver's seat, foot on break, released parking brake, shifted a few times from N to D to N to R - (couple times) pulled parking brake...problem went away. Just sayin'

  24. Picky picky! Yep, sidewall will say, for example 5400 lbs at 110 psi for a 255/80R22.5 for a single tire and 9370 lbs for duals at 110 psi per tire. That would be the Maximum load & pressure on sidewall for a 255/80R22.5 A single 255/80R22.5 could carry a max load of 5400 lbs and a max pressure of 110 psi. The single tires on an axle, if the weight were distributed evenly, would be able to carry 10800 lbs with each tire inflated to 110 psi. Dual tires on an axle evenly distributed could carry 18740 lbs with 110 psi in each tire. So what I was trying to say is that as long as the load for the axle is is below max (after weighing the axle only (GAWR)), say for example a person is unable to get individual corner weights and the front axle combined weight is 9400 lbs, then inflating the tires to 110 psi is not going to hurt the tires and is a better option because corner weight are unknown and one side could be 5000 lb an the other 4400. Hmmm! Did I say that right. It's better to not exceed the max load rating of the tire nor the max inflation pressure of the tire. If the weight is unknown it is better to run at 110 psi until weights can be gotten. I have not traveled extensively but I have covered 46 of the 48 contiguous U.S and Oregon is the only state i was in that I knew for sure had scales open even when truckers were not required to stop at them. If there are other states that have open scales it would be a nice list to have.
