  1. Boy, I hope Bill doesn't post in this thread. Two W's would confuse the heck out of Carl.
  2. Not enough time to study for the test.
  3. Does that "M" in Carl stand for mean!
  4. Roger, Your fix looks like an easy solution to the wiper seals being out or turned in. They never turn in all the way, just part way up, etc. I'm going to keep your fix in my mental housing group.
  5. Kay, yep, I know. I'm on my 3rd call sign with the original in 1974, WB4, (General to Advanced same year two months apart) then in 79 I had a KA5 when I was in Japan, and when I settled down in Texas I got the 2x2 to reflect Advanced Class back then. Those were the code receiving days and technical tests.
  6. Never mind Wayne Sr. I found you in FL. Hmmm! That's 4 land.
  7. DD, The purpose of the spare is that you will not have another problem with the same item. After years of buying spares you can open your own retail shop. Yep, I carry some spares also.
  8. After having my roof replaced because golf ball size hail put holes in it I have one panel that was coming down about 2/3 of the way across the ceiling. We were getting ready to go on our 4 month trip last year and the repair center we take our MH to used 1/4 round molding, stretched the liner and fixed the molding to the side. Looks funny with one molding but it has held it up there and is only really noticeable when it is pointed out by us. Our problem is trying to find a panel that will match colors. Ours is an 08 Winni.
  9. Do you have FHU? Also, Earlene doesn't like to rough it so is there a Walmart nearby?
  10. I changed manufacturers because Michelin was not producing my tire size at that time, so I went with Toyo and just a tad taller and wider.
  11. Here is another Tire Size Calculator Width and height are a concern to make sure that the tire does not rub on any frame parts and that the width on dual tires don't touch each other...among other things.
  12. Hmm! I was under the impression that those "flaps" are wiper blades to squeegee the water off the sides so that when the slide is in they don't drip all over the place. The actual seals are the extreme edge on the flange a round the external slideout. The same rubber seal is located on the inside flange in the MH and when the slide is out that is the seal that keeps water out. Granted the flapper is a great help but it is not the sealing grace.
  13. Carl, we are not in Moses Lake area we are inside the loop about 3/4 mile from North Side Elementary School. As for the motor home water lever was 1/3 the way up the bay doors. Electric fuse panels (12v) inverter, etc got wet. Water was in the inside floor in front of and behind the passenger seat most likely from a leak on the roof or wherever. I'm going to call progressive in the morning and establish a case number.
  14. Were are safe. Water has receded considerably and is no longer a threat to the house. Street is still flooded.
  15. Hi Joan, and welcome back. When I have run into that problem, and only seldom, I will open up Notepad or even an email and type my information into it. Then if things are bad I can copy and paste into the forum. If it doesn't get posted I can still copy and paste in a few more minutes to see if it takes. It has only happened to me a couple times in the past 9 years, but it worked well copying and pasting. Again, welcome back.
  16. And the Governor has suspended hotel occupancy tax and it applies to RV parks also. On a side note: Water line in yard seems to have receded a few inches. Hope it is a trend.
  17. We are very fortunate that we are not as flooded as the surrounding areas. Looking out our front door.
  18. Thanks for the good wishes. I'm sure the MH has water in it. That area is devastated. We were up and down for street water. After the hurricane Carla in 1961 Texas City put up a sea wall to protect against 20 ft storm surge. During Ike it barricaded us against the 17 ft storm surge that hit us. Galveston is a barrier reef for us and they got hit with 20 ft plus storm surge. Today is not storm surge but continuous rain for the last several days. Texas City also installed 8 Archimedes principle pumps that will pull water out of Texas City. During Ike TC was an island and every community around it was flooded. Unfortunately the pump can only pump the water out into a lake until everything is full, then they have to stop them. We are apparently in that position now and the water is half way up the front lawn. Prayers needed for the rain to stop. Here are some pictures of what it looks like in our neighborhood.
  19. I'd love to visit Tom, but my MH is at Dues Camping Center for minor repairs. I called when this storm was know to be coming and asked if I should pick it up. They said they were not calling people to come get the RV's. Never flooded in that area before that I am aware of, but maybe some old timers have other information. Anyhow, Dues Camping Center is on the North bound feeder from the intersection of I-45 and FM-517. It is about 1/2 mile up the feeder road, give or take a few 10ths. Guess what - it's flooded. Don't know how bad but I can be pretty sure it is in the bays. Could be higher. Hope insurance come through for us.
  20. Check with CG's in SW Texas. Hurricane Harvey did its number on some and they may or may not rebuild.
  21. If the bulb or fuse broke all you have to do is put the smoke back in and it will work. Or, take the bulb out and look at the filaments. If you see one broken or dangling get a new bulb before you start other trouble shooting.
  22. My wife buys beef broth stock and mostly chicken broth stock I must say she was a good investment because she turned out to be a good cook...who would a thunk.
